Ledson told he can leave as Oxford and Portsmouth interested. Always thought he looked a good player, just a bit lightweight for centre midfield. It's just another illustration of how brutal Koeman is, which realistically can only be a good thing moving forward. No more 'phenomenals' here.

Also, on a side note, we are being linked with with Munir from Barcelona.

Ive away rated ledson, and believe he was the next big thing until Davies came along. i'd of sent him out for a two year loan if that's possible.

Would be a huge disappointment if he left now. Don't understand how you can possibly dismiss a player like him when he's only 19 (and achieved a surprising amount) and plays in a position that we need bodies for. Sure, he could be another Jose Baxter or George Green, but he could also be another Mustafi.

Never understand why we don't just keep hold of them until they're around 21, give them some game time in league matches and then make a more educated decision as opposed to just getting rid of another player we were told to get our hopes up for for no apparent reason.

Wow Ander you are a permanent ray of sunshine.

Because if we do what Ander says then we stop the next generation getting game time.
Tom Davies has flown past him in the pecking order. let's trust RK eh.

Think I may actually agree with Ander partly. Obviously you play on talent and not age. I think what he's saying is keep most, who potentially have something, until 21 ish and attempt to bleed them in to some sort of first team action until we decide whether they are good enough or not, then if not then bin them. Of course, if a Tom Davies comes along who is younger and better than the next, then he comes ahead. Isn't that normal football? Talent over age?

So I've been told, Parky. To be honest, I'm not always this negative, it's just a couple of years of Martinez has broken me. Hopefully Koeman will help me learn to love again.

Exactly Kingo. I'm obviously not saying keep every player that comes through the ranks, but I feel we are too brutal when it comes to getting rid young players. As I said, I feel 21-22 is around the age you can finally dismiss someone, but before that age I think it's way too early to really know if they'll make it especially when they're not given a chance.

That said, I did forget about Tom Davies and while I don't think Ledson being here would hinder him as such, I can understand why maybe it's not the end of the world to let him go.

It isn't the end of the world as we've all said Tom Davies is a better player. I do think clubs often give up on players too early, but maybe as Ledson wasn't going to get a look in and wasn't required, the club is letting him go for the good of his own career and considering him as well. We will know that the club rates him if they put in a buy back clause.

Yeah, I would definitely put a buy back/ sell on clause, just in case, but if they do that it does beg the question of why not just loan him out again? They've shown with Garbutt and McAleny that they have no problem with holding onto players who don't seem to be getting a chance.
