i have been a strong supporter of sam but its getting hard to defend him, if we end this window without a left back and minus lookman i think i might cry.
i understand lookman is young an loses the ball a lot and i agree with sam he isn't ready to start games but he is creative and could be massive off the bench when needed this year and maybe starting games next year.

I agree Johny, he was great when he came on at Anfield in the FA Cup, he can have a good impact coming off the bench in the second half, can't understand why we would be looking to let him go. as for left back, our poor recruitment policy is to blame for that. Do any of the eds know whether our wage bill could be a problem for us with FFP? I was shocked to learn Sandro is on 120k a week and we now have a lot of players on 100k+ per week, its a big jump in the space of 18 months - 2 years?

{Ed002's Note - Without seeing this years figures I don't know.}

If losing the ball is the reason for loaning Lookman out, he would need to get rid of the bulk of the team with what we have witnessed this season.
I agree with you, we need to keep him as an impact player coming off the bench, and we definitely still need a LB. Garbutt looked ok the other night, however he was playing against children, literally.

Does the sponsor of finch Farm come into account as we got 30+ million for it and will contribute to wage bill.

Lookman losing the ball surely shouldn’t prevent him from having game time. Shove at left back as he can’t lose the ball as much as the current option we have there.

Maybe he loses the ball too much because he doesn't have an outlet to pass to, therefore keeping it too long. Once we have a balanced/ settled 18 that can perform week in/ week out, then we can start to make decisions on who should stay or go.
