Seeing a lot in the Turkish press a about Vida coming to us. One minute it's us leading way, then it's Leicester and now it's us offering Klaassen in exchange. Obviously you have said Besiktas are interested in Klaassen ed but just wondering if we're actually in for Vida possibly as a backup to signing Gibson or is it just speculation, cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - Besiktas have turned down a €4.5M offer from WAtford and in January West Ham made an approach. Domagoj Vida was seen as an option by Milan as they are priced out of a move for their first choice target. They know that Besiktas also still maintain an interest in the player and that Besiktas have been trying to agree a pre-contract. David Moyes is a long term admirer and showed interest when at Everton and again at Sunderland and West Ham.}

Do you know if we are interested in Oguzan Ozyakup still or has that faded away.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe. Arsenal were looking to take Oguzhan Ozyakupback at a significant discount whilst Everton have spoken with his agent when Walsh and Allardyce were keen and interest may still remain. Marseille, Lazio, Newcastle, Milan and Valencia all have an interest. Besiktas agreed to let his contract run out at the end of June and that removes the need for any transfer fee to be paid on to Arsenal which would have been required if he were to have extended. As a free agent he will now sign a new contract with Besiktas with a low termination clause (as I recall €10M euro plus a fixed fee to his agents SEG, plus signing on fee to be negotiated). After that happens in July Besiktas will talk to clubs - with Necastle perhaps looking hardest at this time.}
