No Toure then signing for Atlanta,
unto the next target.

At a reported 35 mil it seemed a bit excessive anyway GB. Mad that young untested strikers go for that money now.

If he has signed for another team hopefully we have a good option next on the list.

I don't think we are serious about him and we know he will go to Atlanta so just making it look to us fans that they are active and have some money to spend, knowing full well we won't get or haven't.

Same with Gyokeres, if we seriously wanted him we would have paid the extra £2m before Sporting even got involved, same applies to Beto last day of transfer window and Gallagher knowing full well we had no chance and fooling us fans yet again.

Apparently if you read various reports our top target was Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia, whose £20m release clause expired last week, why didn't we go get him? Or why we not getting Beto if the money's there? Because it isn't imo and just them leading us along, Moshiri said in January he knew we needed a Striker, 6 months later, where is he? Young and Danjuma is fine but these were relatively cheap and easy deals.

We will get to the last day having apparently been linked and so close to loads of strikers and end up with a Mikael Antonio, Patrick Bamford or Weghorst as a panic last day in- coming when in reality this is our operating level on a free or loan having sold or loaned to decent young strikers. Hope am wrong but looking this way and I don't believe the clickbait rumours as actions speak louder than words.

I totally agree, this has been happening to many times now and we aren't being fooled anymore, we have no money and all we will get like you've said mocker, free or very cheap deals are all we will be getting, but saying that, look at the difference ha ing dcl up front, he didn't school many, but the difference in the team was night and day, so someone who can hold the ball up is priority, but I think we already have our back up striker in Danjuma, I maybe wrong but just have that feeling, we will end up with Newcastle Frazer and players like that I'm afraid.

And it won’t be Sarr he’s off to Marseille.

Yep agree Bluepasty, thought and said all along this is how we will operate this Summer, only way to spend decent money is by selling. If we can get a half decent striker in on a season's loan be happy and yes there is a few decent freebies or low fee players out there.

Think it's obvious that's why Dyche was employed as worked wonders on a shoestring and did well with aging players, I like Dyche and glad we got him but think he knew this from the offset and is in the middle with knowing this yet trying to get the fans on board and giving us hope via the media clickbait, oh we looking, active jargon.

It's a case of surviving this season and looking at next summer as a springboard, just wish the club were a lot more transparent and not treat us fans as naive trash.

Gnonto still an option.

If you believe the clickbait GB. Another we have gone in very low (Apparently) knowing Leeds won't sell at that price. Only happens if Gray goes anyway as need generate the funds.

Also he isn't a striker GB, we need a proper focal point in the DCL mould as back up to play to our strengths, we would actually be better getting Bamford as his hold up play is similar to DCL, only thing is so is his injury record!

25 Jul 2023 11:32:57
Mocker I agree, I'd have him in a heart beat but for his injury problems, maybe him and dcl can alternate injury times so we will always ha e one fit striker ?.

25 Jul 2023 12:12:14
He did have a great season like DCL, I like him, he puts a shift in . & is more realistic imo as think will leave Leeds and won't be expensive and is very much like 4 like, as you rightly said look how different we were when DCL was fit (albeit not long) , we need that hold up, didn't work putting Gray up top.

Agree with mockers posts we need a forward maybe 2 if dcl gets injured if we can get 2 forwards a left back and replacement for demari gray i will be bit optimistic for this season until then am in dreamland ?.

Defo agree that the latest hunt for a striker is all smoke and mirrors. If we were really serious about El Bilal Toure then we would clearly have enough money to buy both Gnonto and Iheanacho which would surely make more sense. Can actually see us getting Bamford on the last day of the window. And then him getting crocked through his eternal groin problems the day after.

Precious few clubs can build a state of the art stadium and sustain a transfer budget that allows to buy without selling. I understand it’s frustrating but it appears whatever deals we make will start with a very low first payment. Don’t expect too much as we can’t throw money at players and we don’t exactly offer an attractive season ahead for them either.

Maybe we are waiting for sales first. Maupay, Keane, holgate can all go and our team would improve massively. Not sure how much money they would generate though.

It's still fairly early in the window and I think both young and danjuma both improve the squad. 1 or 2 more forward players including a Dom mold striker and I will be very happy. Still got a UK loan spot left too.

I think we need a replacement not an understudy for DCL.
