I think if we do sign McCarthy we would have an extremely strong midfield.

Mirallas and Pienaar or deulefeu on the wings, with Fellaini, Gibson and McCarthy in the middle, possible with Barkley playing a couple of games. Now that is a force to be reckoned with!

Another bonus would be not having to play that over-rated, passed it, Osman

1.) 19 Jul 2013
Osman is not overrated he has been great last few seasons and I am glad he got his england call up

2.) 19 Jul 2013
Have you been looking directly at the sun?

Ozzie had a great season (England call ups) and personally think he will suit Martinez's style of play.

Ossie has been a great servant to our club so have some respect. your post was decent until you ruined it with a classless remark which didn't need to be in there

4.) 19 Jul 2013
What a great supporter.

Why not show some respect to a player that has given his entire career to the club and always put in 100%.

5.) 19 Jul 2013
I agree Ossie is overrated - he strolls around too much for me, walking about

6.) 19 Jul 2013
Ossie passed it, what have you been drinkin for the passed twelve months son?

7.) 19 Jul 2013
If u watched the accrington game, you'd realise ossie is far from past it, best player on the pitch!

8.) 19 Jul 2013
Bit disrespectful to Ozzie that mate. The lad has had his up's and downs but the last couple of seasons he's worked his plums off for the blues. (Wavertree Blue)

9.) 20 Jul 2013
Harsh on osman but we do need more CM options

10.) 20 Jul 2013
In my opinion the 4-2-3-1 we been playing so far ossie fits perfect behind the striker. ossie could be our player of the year next season.

11.) 20 Jul 2013
Only observation I'd make about Osman is that in a 4-2-3-1 formation (which we've used in the two pre-season games so far) I think he's better suited to being part of the 3 behind the main striker rather than one of the 2 in front of the back-4. I like to see him being a clever, quick-footed player around the opposition box rather than having to try and tackle and break up play in front of our box.

12.) 20 Jul 2013
Sry I disagree leon osman is one ov the most underater player in the league, he no world beater but he is better (a lot better) than people make out, if you actually watch him him play you will see his first touch and control is better than most.

13.) 20 Jul 2013
OP here, I'm not slating Osman at all, he has been a quality player for years. I just think in recent times he's too slow now, lost his sharpness. Take the Accrington game for example, I don't know how some of you think he was the best man on the pitch! He gave away the ball 70% of the times he had it and was just generally outclassed by Gibbo in every way. In the past he has been brilliant, but last season he really showed how he is tiring and can no longer last 90 mins

14.) 20 Jul 2013
How the hell is ossie overrated?

15.) 20 Jul 2013
I know he did well last year but why at 31 to start playing your best football, he's a good player but he fades badly in the second half of games and he often has the best feet but can't finish at all, good servant but shouldn't be playing week in week out

16.) 20 Jul 2013
Last season Ossie had greatest time in his career I think it will continue. The one RM. consider to buy only back up or future. And because of this whoever more than the area of 6m. is too much.

17.) 20 Jul 2013
OP again, when I say over-rated, that is by the majority of Evertonians. He is probably under-rated by a lot of other fans but to me he is no longer anything special.

18.) 20 Jul 2013
Gets knocked of the ball to easily, nice bloke though.

19.) 20 Jul 2013
To OP. Forward players tend to give the ball away a lot because they are risky and difficult passes to try and create opportunities.

A lot of players in the link up play or defensive play will have a good passing rate because they are usually short easy passes where there is space.

I thought Osman when playing for England looked really comfortable and it was great to see an England player actually want the ball and do something with it other than hit it long.

He's 32 and not getting younger but I haven't seen a performance from him that I thought he should be out of the team.

20.) 21 Jul 2013
To the op, if osman was as terrible on the ball as you make out, why would the whole everton squad say ossie is the best man they know with the ball at his feet and they all say he is the most skillful at the club! do one saying he had a bad game on wednesday, he was a very close second for man of the match

21.) 21 Jul 2013
Sure, Ozzys performances were so diabolical last season he was given the honour of representing his country. Roy H isn't the sort to dish out free caps to a blue. He saves them for the Shelvys of this world. Ozzy earned it by playing some amazing football and showing everyone just how good he is. Another CM in the squad would take the workload off him a bit and I really think his best is yet to come. Shame you butchered what started as a decent post with such tosh.

Hank

Ok poeple need to let this ossie thing go, he played ok last year and got a run out in a friendly, he's loyal and hard working but let's not get ahead of ourselfs here
