I disagree mate I feel its constructive criticism that's merited. The aim is surely to improve each season as a team & try & push for 4th not go backwards & stagnate.
Granted we have key players out through injury @ the mo but martinez knew when the blues qualified for europa league he was going to have to strengthen the squad & bring @ least half a doz players in so in effect or @ least on paper the squad is stronger than it has been for a number of years.
Every club gets injuries just got to get on with it & not feel sorry for ourselves or is there an issue whereby the players coming in are simply not good enough.Atsu, Besic Mcgeady gibson, hibbert, Garbutt.
Doesn't take a genius to know where the problems lie @ the mo, leaking goals like there's no tomorrow, can't keep clean sheets which means having to score 3 or 4 ourselves to win the match.
6 pts out of a possible 21 is relegation form all day every day in my book.
I know it's early in the season & if the blues can string a few wins together the table will look a lot healthier but until that happens we'll have to grin & bear it.
fellow supporter mentioned earlier that the 2 players that caused the damage yesterday's were falcao & Di
Maria.
I don't care if they were messi & Ronaldo both goals could have been defended better especially falcao's could have been avoided, kicked into row z by Howard instead of keeping ball alive that cost us a share
of the spoils.
Another blue says he'd be happy with 10th I don't get it.
We need to be top 4 or 5 & need to win a trophy this season.
My son is 20 in feb ain't seen us win anything so it's long over due.
The likes of Swansea, wigan & Birmingham have won silverware in recent seasons so why not us.

{Ed025's Note - very good and fair post that neil, well done mate..

I agree Neil, some people need to take off there blue tinted specs and look at reality, a love Everton like we all do but I really do think were in deep rubbish now, we all knew even last season we didn't have a big enough squad, and we all agreed on here we needed around 7 players, we have too many injuries now, leaking to many goals, and an ageing team, hibbert jags, distin, gas baz, pienaar Osman Howard which I say there just not good enough now , a
Posted on here last season the squad thing needed addressed as we simply can't cope with European and premier league due to our squad, we need points and fast, it's upto Martinez now to act fast and get rubbish sorted, because u know what will happen if we have a bad season, bye bye Coleman and Barkley

I don't think its a fair post. I don't think its fair to say that the players mentioned aren't good enough as some of them need a chance to settle in, the others could do with a little more respect due to length of service or indeed knee ligament damage which usually put a set back to form.

Are we actually slagging of Hibbert who is totally idolised by fellow supporters. If he scores we riot, or is that forgotten now.

The minute our keeper puts it into row z we complain he's using Moyse negative long ball anywhere will suit tactics.

So if they can't win, then I don't think that is really fair, sorry Ed.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair ace, although hibbo is well respected, and i thought done well against united, we cant expect to progress with the likes of him and a few others in our first team, loyalty is a fine thing mate but in perspective, our hopes were built up last year and to be honest this season up to now is a damp squib, so supporters are looking for answers and i think neil made some valid points there, we will all have our own idea of the reasons why we are so poor and how to fix it, and this is the forum to express them...its ok to disagree you know fella its what its all about..

Don't totally agree with garbutt not being good enough.the lad looks a talented footballer, can defend and deliver baines esq crosses.basic still learning his trade in premier. Atsu . wasn't convinced by him during world cup.

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions dentie, and yours are as valid as the next guys mate, its healthy to have differing opinions..

4.) 06 Oct 2014
Agree with most of what you say mate, my lad is 20 and he's bored of me oing on about " the good old days". However as far as Garbutt goes don't know how you can judge him on what you have seen. I have watched him and he is and will be quality.

Can we remember we've played arsenal (draw) Liverpool (draw) Chelsea (bad loss) and Manu (v unlucky narrow away defeat)

Leicester draw away doesn't look that terrible given they're playing well

West brom win away good result

Crystal palace did us with three shots on target otherwise we dominated game

So bit unlucky really combined with having difficult early fixtures

Should see some better results now we have non champs league teams to play against

Expect to see us climbing table soon and fortunately because a lot of matches have been drawn or gone the right way for us, then the pack is not too far away.

COYB!

I agree about opinions ed. but you can't say a kid ain't good enough when he has only played a couple of pre seasongames. which he was quality in.he is up against England's no1 left back.no easy

I'll just come out and say it rather than harp on. I would be happy if we finished 10th this season, but to enjoy the fruits of winning the europa league and gain qualification to the champions league from there. let's be honest with ourselves here, we did not spend big in the summer, particularly compared to the likes of chelsea, Manchester United and liverpool, or have the initial squad depth to compete with the already established top 4 contenders of Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham. Put simply, our squad depth is no where near big enough to compete on all 4 fronts of cups and league, so the chances of us surpassing last years feat of 5th and achieving the coverted top 4 for champions league is a dream I think is a little too far at present. Until further squad depth is added and rotation of places are cemented within the club and becomes the normal where performances stay to a top level rather than now where a couple of changes are made and players seem lost of how to play with eachother. In the past we have always had to stick to a very common first 11 due to squad size, barring injuries, who all knew how eachother play and their role in the team, now the squad is in transition and although the squad size is small, it is not large either, we are just at the inbetween stage (with additional players being made up of the youth squad). I would suggest we play our strongest team in the league and europa league games and keep the domestic cups for the kids to play in and gain valuable experience.
