It seems to me that the players have lost confidence in their own ability. Players know when their form drops and no amount of "phenomenal" comments from Martinez is going to convince players that they are playing well. In my opinion Martinez is doing the players a disservice by not being honest in his interviews, I'm not suggesting he should castigate individuals but he should hold his hands up and admit that a players form has dropped and rest them. I think a high proportion of the game is played in the players minds and having the correct mindset approaching a game (especially when on a losing streak) is half the battle. I would suggest the use of a sport psychologist would be of benefit in balancing the "phenomenal, amazing, outstanding" comments of Martinez. Any thoughts?

just listening to him all season makes me think a good dose of reality might be needed not sure if even he can actually believe what he is saying most of the time.
