everton should be ashamed. 2 Everton legends in hibbert and ossie only found out they were being let go when their friends wished them good luck by text. its a disgrace and shameful. howard gets a send off which he deserved by the way, but bigger legends than him get thrown out with the rubbish.

To describe Ossie and Hibbo as legends is an insult to our great club.
It just goes to show how the standards of this club has fallen over the years to describe two average players as legends. No wonder the reds laugh at us and callus small time when some of our own fans act small time.

MikeS, the term 'legends' is bandied around for a lot of players throughout the game, not just at EFC, and is rarely warranted. Likewise, to dismiss them as average is also extreme. They have done well in our first team over the years and it would be silly to suggest otherwise. Ossie has scored some important goals during his career with us and, especially in his early years, was a tidy little player. Tony was a dependable full back, good in the tackle and rarely let us down. Injuries haven't been kind to him over the last few years. Both players have been invaluable in the dressing room, plenty of young, and experienced pro's, have stated how they have helped them integrate into the squad when first signing for us or moving up from the youth set up.
Legends? No. But they have been better than average when you look at the bigger picture. I wish them both well and thank them for their service.
