Just been reading jonny heitinga's remarks about how tough life is after football. He and his wife can no longer afford private jets, stylists to choose their clothes and have had to lower the standard of luxury villa they can afford to rent. My heart bleeds for them.

My life has taken a turn for the worse as well. I used to have my own private transportation when we lived in L12, it was called a pram in those days and I had a stylist picking my clothes, my mum actually. Now 70 odd years latter I get my clothes from Amazon and we travel economy, tough times indeed. On of the things that has not changed over those years is that I spend the week looking forward to the next Everton game.

Love it BlueMike, I used to get chauffeur driven to every game. No:46 bus Penny Lane to Walton depot. Now I live in London can't afford to get there very often.

Yes Hrowblue, I used to walk from Arlescourt Road, down Leyfield Road to the Triangle to get the football bus which took us directly to Goodison. Nobody in our road had a car let alone a private jet but we were happy, mainly because everyone was in the same situation and nobody told us we should be otherwise. I believe our upbringing in Liverpool taught us how to deal with the ups and downs that life brings unlike Heitinga who is obviously a spoilt brat.
