Ed02,can you send any light based on the information available, as to whether Everton will ever actually end up the owning out right the potential new stadium on the bramley moore dock? from what I have read this far it sounds like we will be tenants on a long-term lease.

{Ed002's Note - I answered this a couple of days ago. The finances have yet to be bottomed out and whilst the club do not have the money to build the stadium themselves and don't have the credit necessary to borrow the money themselves, the local council will be acting as an effective lender. They will borrow the money and then rent the premises to Everton. Eventually, after the debt has been paid, it would be reasonable to assume that Everton and the council can reach agreement over passing ownership to the club - but right now that is many years away.}

I can't see what benefits there are to owning the new ground tbh. We aren't in a position to buy it so a deal is being arranged for us by the LCC. Man City for all their wealth rent theirs from the council doesn't seem to bother them so I don't care who owns it as long as it's as intimidating as the old lady, which let's be fair will be down to us to sort.

{Ed002's Note - The rent will be at the level where Everton will eventually pay the complete cost of the stadium so I would expect the club and the council to reach agreement over the transfer of the ownership. THis will become clearer when the finances are sorted out and Everton are in a decent position financially.}

We just got to hope it doesn't go like West ham, Southampton, Sunderland who all struggled when they moved stadiums. There probably be loads of others.
