I don't think there will be a whole host of clubs knocking on the door for barkley based on his performances as a whole this year. he is lucky everton want him because he has not yet shown that he should be one of the first on the team sheet each week, and he has not dented the big sides when you look to him to play the right ball or dominate a defence.
I have to admit I am easy about him staying or going because this is a very different case to the black day of Rooney going. a player who we knew would have a massive impact at United.
If he has sense he will be thankful to the club for sticking by him and humbly put pen to paper. if not he could end up as another blue who left in search of so called better things and regretted his miscalculation.
Oscar.

{Ed025's Note - its up to him now oscar, if he stays great, if he goes then i wish him well but the grass is not always greener as you rightly point out mate..

To attack the top 4 we need a full squad of consistent performers, this season our most consistent performers have been gana, Schneidelin since jan Coleman, Baines, davies and for the most part Lukaku and williams. Barkley is just not consistent enough to be a Main playmaker in a top 4/ 6 team. Sad but true.
