Hi ed001 what's your view on gylfi how do you rate him would he suit Everton. Could we get. Better player for £50mil? Thanks looking forward to your reply.

{Ed001's Note - good question this, I was having a think about it before I answered to try and think if there was someone better for the money. There probably are a lot, but not Premier League proven and ready to just slot in to improve the team immediately, that is the key here.

Siggurdsson is far from the perfect player, he lacks pace, he can be a bit static and on the lazier side when it comes to chasing back at times. However, get him on the ball and he has excellent vision and range of passing, plus his delivery from dead balls is amongst the best in Europe. Decent finisher too.

It does depend on how Koeman intends to use him, but if it is central, as I believe they do, then a lack of pace is not a major problem. With others providing the movement and pace around him, he will make a good playmaker for the side. I think he is what you need to make a step forward now.}

Lazy, he has a massive work rate one of best in the premier division, he is 6ft 2 inches and has large ground covering movement that's get him around the pitch, pace is fine if you can use it, Everton have offered around 45m up now, so they are obviously sure he is one of the best around, they have enough scouting expert around Europ along with Steve Walsh.

{Ed001's Note - I said tracking back, try reading it rather than seeing what you want to see. This is why I don't bother answering questions a lot of times, because people just twist the words to suit their own agenda, rather than reading what is actually said. Did I say he was just lazy? No, so please learn to read proper English.}

Great feedback Ed, I think the key things are he is premiership proven and will make an immediate impact which is what is needed right now.
Also when you look at what has been done in the transfer market are incomings and outgoings are fairly similar albeit our wage bill will have increased so it keeps us in good shape.

{Ed001's Note - he is the right player at the right time, if you ask me. If you were in the Champions League with unlimited funds, ala Citeh, you would not be chasing him, obviously, but you have to find players to improve you that will want to join you at this moment. You have young players to develop, you have veterans to provide experienced heads, the gap is the ones ready to step in and play now. Siggurdsson is defo ready now, he does not need developing and he is not on the downhill slope yet either.}

Hi ed 01

Do you think he will use him as central player as I think he may be used on left with klassen as central figure. Also we have been linked with jothan viera from las palmas who may be good fit but haven't seen much of him and serri who more holding midfield isn't he.

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to be given freedom along with Klaasen, the pair will roam around a fair bit I expect.}

From last nights game, it looks as the team will be set up with two (very) wide men. Maybe that was just a tactic against that particular team, trying to stretch the full backs so that Klaasen / Rooney could run in behind?

All the eds input in here is greatly appreciated by the many and it's just a shame that the few don't.

Thanks ed. it's just scary spending that much on a player who no one else has really had any intrest in and with no sell on value because we are still at this moment in time an easy pick for the big guns and normally do well with getting top dollar from them for our players so really we can't moan if others are doing it to us! But 25mil less than rom makes me wonder could we take a risk on say. 23 year old let him reach his potential and move him on for a big profit. Like liverpool may well
Do with coutinho.

No Ed you said he was a bit static and n the lazier side, I have read your post correctly.

{Ed001's Note - you clearly have not. Obviously your just being an arse.}

Do we really need him? Especially at such a high price i would say swerve this deal. I absolutely don't doubt he would improve us to a degree, he has some fantastic qualities that would benefit the team, but i feel we just don't need to add to our midfield/ attacking mid positions. My main concern is because it will inevitably hinder the opportunities for Tom D who i think had a blinder last year and could really kick on again in his 2nd proper season. I want to see the boy play, and i think we could do without Sig for now and see how things work out, maybe reapproach Swansea in January if we really do need him.
IMO sorting out a high quality striker and another CB should be bigger concerns for us right now.
