Right we have 12 games left until 1st January and of those only Liverpool and Chelsea Finished above us last year so we have to target 8 out of those 12 being wins at the very least and I think that is achievable if players are played in their natural positions and we can find a manager who can connect with the players which is why I think Rhino would be great at least to steady the ship.

We still have a poor defence, that won't get sorted overnight.

No target man and a lack of a centre back might stop that ambition. But not impossible. If we don't get a run going we will find it tough to atract priority players.

Agree with ToffeeAl. Unsy will play them in their natural positions, he is also well respected at the Club. We will never know what went on behind the scenes and I take the view that a persons, personal life is also their own. RK was never going to move us on, as he just does not know what to do when things go against.

We play to our strength and that is what should have been going on from 1st game of the season, we don't have a target man so no point in playing to whip balls in, what we do have is pace in abundance and that scares defenders, a 3 pronged attack of DCL with Lookman and Vlasic either side will get us goals, yes the defence has been weak so let's play defenders who have a bit of pace so won't drop so deep, Holgate isn't a right/ left back and should be given a run next to Keane as they are the future of the club. Forget a back 3 as it doesn't work as we don't have natural wing backs, a flat back 4 is what we need and that's because we have the personnel for that. Sig needs a run in his actual position of number 10 before judging him, Williams needs to be kept away from both the starting 11 and bench, Schneiderlein needs to earn his place too and Gana and Davies IMO are ahead of him for that 1 holding role as we don't need 2 holding players. I am by no means the manager but we have players that if played in the correct system in the correct positions will get results, my formation would be a 4-1-2-3.
Lookman and Vlasic will give us that width, Sig behind DCL will offer support, Davies can be our box to box midfielder and Gana can sit and mop up in front of Keane and Holgate. My only problem is Right back as until Coleman is back we don't really have strength there, Kenny did alright against Arsenal so would go with him.
We have Bolasie, Coleman and Barkley to come back and hopefully to a side that is being managed properly by a competent manager. I haven't mentioned Rooney as I feel he is more a problem than a solution, what is his position? He comes too deep when he is supposedly playing up top so he can be utilised as a midfielder if needed, not as a striker.
I do feel Unsy has the support of the players and we will see a totally different performance at Chelsea tomorrow, the optimism is back due to the change on the bench, arrogance does not bring success as Ron has found out.
As for permanent manager, I have always stated Benitez as my choice and ain't going to change that, but, after listening to Rhino today he is Everton and that is what we need, so I hope he does well and shows that the U23's success can be replicated with the first team, he is one of us and that is always an excellent start.

{Ed025's Note - very good post that gray and i agree with most of that mate..
