What an absolute shambles - centre backs who are so slow a bottle of milk turns faster, can't tackle, duck to avoid heading a goal bound shot, look at the man and ignore the ball and gues what- yes the player being watched scored with a header, a captain who sadly slows the game down and is past his sell by date and another number 10 who is so light weight he will never cut it in the Premiership.
Add to that a wide man who refuses to play down the flanks and generally a team who are incapable of mastering the basics, in terms of movement off the ball and passing to a team mate.
The previous manager and the current coaching staff, despite playing at the top level, cannot see the the way out of this downward spiral.
In any crisis the key is to understand what is needed to arrest the situation and implement an improvement plan, which have been bought into by all concerned.
In this respect we should be looking this out a bunch of players, including some recently signed and pick a team that will play to a system and wil not capitulate after conceding.
My preferred system would see a defensive midfield player playing just in front of the back four, like Carsley and Neville did, and be disciplined to patrol the 10 yard corridor in front of our penalty area when defending.

With the clear instructions to attack as a team and defend as a team, put a real shift in and leave nothing on the pitch.
