I can't believe fans complaining about us playing for (and getting) a result - albeit a hard-earned unadventurous (to put it mildly! ) draw - at the dark side.
Of course it would have been great to play an open, expansive, toe-to-toe style, but that most likely would have led to another hammering from their formidable attacking players.
At this stage of the season, if some fans would prefer style over substance, well that's their prerogative, but imho we need results and we need the team to gain confidence from those results.
Whether or not under SA we can show creativity and attacking quality on top of defensive solidity and organisation only tine will tell, but I for one am content (for now! ) to concentrate on the improvement in results, player confidence, and team organisation under a coaching staff that has the experience, determination, and knowledge to deal with where we have found ourselves so far this season.

Big Sam has a reputation for negative football and some fans seem to have latched onto this. But any top manager knows you start a game off with the intention of keeping a clean sheet and build from there. Remember that Allardyce had Jay Jay Ocotcha and Ivan Campo in his team at Bolton. how we could do with either of those now. I am expecting him to lay the foundation of a solid defence and build a midfield with some creativity as time goes on. But BobbyC you are rightabout some fans. and would they enjoy watching us playing expansive football in the Championship. because 4 games ago and the preceding 10 or so games. that's where we were headed! Big Sam might not yet have all the answers, but I for one would rather us start building a team and bring in the expansive football at a later date when we have the players.

degsyp: I agree with you. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but I want to stay in the PL above all else.
