Wondering about us being linked to the Brazilian fella from barca, now don't get me wrong we need as many attacking players as we can get, but surely there are priorities, haven't seen aparts from the odd Shaw rumour, and left backs being linked, does anyone think we are going to just go with what we have ill the end of the season, it's a bit strange why this didn't happen in the summer.

All good saying we need a left back, but what left would look at our team sheet and see that he will have no help in front of him because we have to play our record signing on the left wing so that Rooney can be accommodated in the team. SG is our best number 10 not a bloody left winger.

If we do get Walcott then he and Bolasie/ Lookman will offer the width and protection either side. Then slimy Sam just has to play Gylfi in the 10 and bullet Rooney to bench status. You cannot play them both and certainly not Gylfi out wide.

If we can't get our 1st choice then we should try to manage with what we have or get a loan in. The last thing we need is another second rate player holding down the fort on a temporary basis only to become an unwanted player next season.

So I’m prepared to get shot down and the sites a matter of opinions so here goes. I seem to be one of the only Evertonians that still believes in Mr Rooney (our top goal scorer who I believe has as many goals as one Romelu Lukaku) . A while ago he was taken out the team and we played exactly the same way (sidewards, backwards and no goal threat) . To me he’s done better than GS so far in his Everton return and I just see him being an easy player for Evertonians to blame, that being said he did have a stinker in the game against Spurs but then also wonder if his goal was allowed (which was as offside as Kane’s second goal) if he’d be getting as much bombardment from the fans this week. I’d also like to add that GS played a hell of a lot of his Swansea matches out on the left. It was for Spurs that he was used in a more of a central role. I know I’m in the minority but my personal opinion is that Rooney should be used as the no 10 as at least his goal tally’s in double figures and it’s not actually his fault the board decided to buy another 3,4 players that also can play in that position. I have my armour on lol.

It's not that Rooney is a bad player. It's that he is effecting the balance of the team to accommodate him. Play him as a striker or have him as a sub. Don't waste Gilfi by pushing him out wide and playing him as a wing back. It doesn't work.

Fair point, Rooney has the goals in the bag and I do think everyone jumps on the bandwagon for Rooney head, when he scores he's the best, when he doesn't he's the worst and slow can't pass, stops the flow of the team ECT ECT, but take him out of the team and who have we had who can score, oh yeah sigs on what 2/ 3 goals, dcl on 2 goals, yeah I can see why we would drop him for those 2, it's just moaning for moaning sake, if we had a player like lukaku on the bench with say 20 goals and Rooney was keeping him out the team then fair point, we have to realise we are as a team very poor and it runs threw the team, how can anyone score goals when a team doesn't attack, can just point at Rooney.
