Just been reading Marco has come out and said Niasse is staying at Everton, in his words Niasse gives something different to our other Strikers.

If you watched the friendly/ pre-season last night you would see what he means about Niasse. Yet again the lad had chances and if you don't create chances you don't score. I think he hit the upright twice and scored. The lad is such an awkward lump especially in the area, that defenders don't know what to do with him.

Very happy to hear that mate, if anyone has deserved some faith it's Niasse. Great attitude, causes defenders hassle, gets in good positions, scores goals. Got nothing but respect for him.

Get what you saying folks but deep down. amd I mean this, he isn’t what we need. There is no sentiment in football the late Bob Paisley always said that. Fact is Martinez brought him in on a handsome wage, Hull and Crystal Palace have shown a genuine interest in the past and that for me says it all. Disappointed but not like he’s said he is in the squad every week I suppose.

I have no idea what devil he made a pact with but he has the most ridiculous amount of luck.

He isn't good enough but he's a back up so I'm not that bothered. I still want to see some proper competition in this area though.

Niasse is another body but he is not the best player. The main thing in his favour is he doesn't have a clue what he is doing so the defenders won't either so he may create chances for himself and other people. Maybe after a run of games he will gain confidence and start improving his goals ratio.

{Ed025's Note - not a bad option from the bench geoff, but thats the best i can say about him mate..

It's a tough one with niasse.
We all think he's not good enough but he scores important goals, changes games and shows more heart and fight than most players in our squad.
If we had 4 players last season that showed the fight he did how different would it have been?
I would personally keep him.
He's a problem for defenders and he can score.
I personally would use him for the last 20 mins of every game regardless of the scoreline.
Let's face it when he comes on he rarely disappoints.
His attitude is probably the best I have seen from a player in 10 yrs.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with that pauly..

Pauly, when you say his attitude is the best you have seen in 10 years do you mean / are taking into consideration the way he has been treated by Keenan et-al. His attitude shouldn’t matter, just like his 55k per week being irrelevant also. He is paid to put the ball in the back of the net. I watched him final game at WH and he was woeful. Also. you may want to watch our RB, lad called Coleman, broke his leg recently, captains his country, could have moved to a much bigger club I expect and earned vast sums more over the years. that’s the best I’ve seen hands down in past 10yrs.

I agree with what you say about Seamus, he's an Everton legend. But Niasse has done us proud and as a 2nd or 3rd choice striker, i don't think we can expect better. If he stays he'll score some vital goals for us again next season.

Good attitude but he really isn't good enough. Scored some good goals but missed others he should have finished. What decides it for me is that his link up play for the team is poor and we create less chances because he has given it away

Like him for his smile and enthusiasm but we need better than the proverbial bull in a china shop.

Blu1 I think Seamus should be captain and in terms of attitude he is right up there but I was specifically talking about the treatment given to niasse.
For a player to be treated that way and still keep his composure and willingness to play for the club and keep focused enough to keep improving his game has been something to behold.
I'm sorry if you disagree but you do not get rid of players like him. You utilise him as best you can.
Like I said I would use him as an impact sub and I'm sure he would be happy just to be involved.
