I'm really happy with yesterday. I hope the ones who don't look like they are part of plans (Vlacic, bollasi and besic) move on over next couple of days - Besic goes with big respect as I always felt he tried 100%.

No matter what - we are going to see exciting football and goals. Signed best wingers since kanchelskis!

I hope Zouma or Mina starts with Keane - we have a bedding in period but fixtures have been very kind - a good start is essential.

I don't think we will see a day like that again - that's credit to M and M -I hope from now on it just needs one or two for a touch up rather than 5-6 overall

Let's hunt the Wolves on Saturday - COYB.

{Ed025's Note - can i just ask all our supporters to show a bit of patience and not expect miracles from the start, as you say sobs there will be a bedding in period and not everyone will hit the ground running i expect, the signs look good though and i think we are all excited about the coming season and the new signings look quality as well, but it is a new manager, new system and quite a few new faces so lets just enjoy the ride and not get carried away too much COYB..

Agree 100% - we have to stop getting new managers every year. Let s see a Silva team rather than a moyes / Martinez / Koeman / Allerdyce team.
New stadium new owners new manager new DOF - all marked improvements. As fans we need to show the passion and make teams fearful of Goodson.

That is what I was trying to say yesterday Ed025.not being negative. just that I will be excited possibly down the road. Just trying to be calm and patient for now. I will also be much happier if the Premier League approve Zouma.

{Ed025's Note - me too degs..

Patience of course but also a note of caution. Silva has to find that magic formula of bedding in players without going on a losing streak because that leads to loss of confidence. My thoughts are that it will be a few weeks and games before we see if Silva and his Staff have produced a Squad capable of finishing above 8th, if we finish top 7 in a first Season that will be success. I also believe that Usmanov will become involved and that will mean there is a chance that Everton will become even stronger.

Luckily we have a set of fixtures this season that will help to get us off to what should be a good start. I expect with the exception of Digne we won't see the new players till a couple of weeks into the season though while they get used to the squad. Looking good though.

All of the sensible voices last year (And growing louder towards the end of last season) were arguing the same valid point.

Obviously regime change was called for and to back up all of our various posts, we mostly stated that we knew it was a big mess and needed strong leadership and TIME to fix.

Wow! What another fun packed window.
Beats the days of watching every team buy good players and we have to scramble through the bargain bucket.

My point is:
We all cried for change but all backed up the call with common sense. We knew that regardless of a new management team, and lots of players that it'd take a while to repair the damage. We all stated that what we wanted to see was an obvious effort on and off the pitch. And already we can all see we have that.

We must continue to be open minded and knowledgeable football fans. It was a massive disaster and one most of us didn't see coming.
The powers listened and reacted brilliantly.

Bottom line is We all stated that we wanted to see effort and a desire to play the game the right way. Sure pre season blah blah but if we lose a few at the start, we all have to stick by the team and appreciate the amount of work that is happening.

I think our league position may not change much
7th I feel is a great position for us. The thing that is important this year, is to get and identity on the pitch. And to close that 15 to 20 point gap to the top teams. If we can end 7th but still with a chance of doing something on the last day of the season, that'd be fantastic.

Sure a cup would be brilliant and so would 6th of higher but as much as we should dream, we need perspective.

The great thing about the last 12 . months is the owner has really shown his worth. He has backed this club 100% he has learnt some harsh public lessons and boy hasn't he.
He is the real deal and in a few years so will we.

Spurs are about to hit an Arseanl decade of stagnation. They bought no one and that big stadium is 100% the reason why. It's going to be ration packs for them for a few season Now. We will leap frog them as they'll surely sell Kane and Ali next summer. The really interesting thing will be if and when our new home opens, do we go on a path of osterity? I somehow think not. COYB.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m sorry we don’t allow rational, logic and common sense on the Everton page. Cracking post fella, thoroughly good read. Have a super weekend.
