New manager, new coaching staff, new DOF, half a new 1st team and a completely different style of football to come to terms with.
With all that in mind, where does everyone actually think we should be in the league?
This project needs time. We are 4 points of 7th half way through.

Silvas high pressing fast paced style is always going to wear his squads out quickly, this was evident at Hull and Watford. He needs a squad full of quality to play his style of football and until he gets it, we are always going to see peaks and troughs in results.

Are some people on here expecting us to be 6th? Higher?
I could understand the negativity if we were 13th and 9 points off the 7th place we expect but were not.
Silva needs 2 seasons minimum to have any chance of progressing us into 6/ 7th.

{Ed025's Note - i agree smit mate..

I would say anywhere finishing 7th- 12th is realistic for this season. The higher in that second bracket in the league we finish, it will show a little bit more progress. Silva needs time and transfer windows. Fans slagging him and the team for inconsistency or ability is in my opinion a little nieve, silva can only work with what’s in front of him. Wait till it’s his squad then he will be far more accountable. Going back to your question is say 8th would be good for this season.

I would like to see us bring1/ 2 in jan and then bring in another 4 (ish) in the summer, offload who silva doesn’t want and really kick on next season.

Hopefully all the doom/ instant success merchants will be happy when we win every game without ever conceding, always scoring at leat 3! Or we could just bring big Sam back (apparently he had us in a better position)

Difficult to call with all the changes taking place, but anywhere from 7th - 10th would be a good result.

As with Most 7th-10th would be good higher a bonus and as long as we are not relegated then although not great it wouldn't be the end of the world. Re-asses at the end of his second season in which I expect to see a big push for the top 6.

I agree with Smit666
We are what we are and the squad is a long way off the top 4 but the owner has put everything in place to make Everton a force to be recognised,
Sad people are call for the managers head or like well I didn’t want him in the first place! Makes me sometimes think they are living in a dream world, the owner has invested heavily into Everton Silva and Brands, we are not of the level of the top 4 that was more than evident watching Liverpool and City play last night but that’s not anyone’s fault especially the Manger who is working with the squad purchased by Koeman and Allardyce, we are playing much better football under Marco, Being an armchair Manager or armchair footballer is the easiest thing in the World, Marco is EVerton through and through that’s easy for all to see.

Top half of the table for me. Progress would be more points than last season. Take last seasons turmoil into account and anything less when we clearly have better players would be met with a big fat “I told you so” from Sam Alardyce which would be very annoying. So simply for me, more points than last season.

Agree with top half and hopefully a good cup run with a Wembley visit at the end of it.

Would be chuffed if we made it to 7th place.
