No British players then very very annoying and not a good move.

{Ed001's Note - you mean other than Fraser and Wan-Bissaka? Possibly more I only looked quickly.}

If we want British players we could always promote the youth if they are deemed good enough? Would everyone
Be happy with that or would everyone just want us to spend to keep the fans happy? I think the value is aboard as young British talent has a premium on top because of the money in the game over here.

Home grown is fine, but it has to improve the team. There is no sentiment in this game, just winners and losers. We have an exceptional home grown setup. But the realty is that most of these will move on and find clubs in lower leagues. For players like Davies Kenny and DCL there is a realistic chance of becoming long term regulars. But we have to be honest. We all want silverware so must sign the best players we can to do this. Not every foreign signing works but the crop we had last summer did. So if we could continue strengthening like last summer, then I’m all for it.

Apologies 001 I did only glance at it, I am doing Brants a disservice, I do fee that a good few young English lads add steel to a team.

{Ed001's Note - no worries, easy done.}

It all depends on what you want. Do you want to be a poorer league with more British players or the best league in the world with the best players in the world regardless of citizenship?
We now have foreign owners and foreign players with foreign coaches. Personally I don't care what nationality our players, owner or manager is.

Smit I want the best and most competitive league to watch.
Our league is to money orientated and does not have the competitive edge it used to have.
I loved as a boy that local boys where in the team much more and at the start of the season you knew you might win the league, you could also finish in the bottom half that was exiting.
Now we know before a ball is kicked next season we will not win the league. We will not go down, that I do not like.
Ok in recent times Leicester performed a miracle and Wigan won the cup but overall the big boys win everything.
This nonsense about we have a good chance of winning a cup, paper talk, yes it could happen but very very unlikely.
This has nothing to do with who the manager is it a fact of modern football
If you think the modern game is better with all the cheating, rolling around by players etc then we both want different things, I yearn for the passed.
I watched the Tranmere playoff final the other day. Players played to the whistle got on with it, did not fake injuries. Tranmere had a cast iron penalty turned down they all threw there arms up, ref said no and they got on with the game. The way the game should be played.
I still love the game but not like I used to and I feel alienated from the modern game and modern supporters.
The game is less competitive now than ever in many ways although Sky will allways tell you and convince you otherwise.

DC the game has certainly changed a great deal. However that is mostly because of the super fitness levels and speed is so fast now. The rules and interpretations of what is a foul and dangerous play has had to adjust too. I also loved the old steel in the game, but you cannot have players like Norman Hunter and Tommy Smith these days. The likes of Eden Hazard would only get 1 game a season and be out for the rest if he came against some of the old ones. But I can appreciate the levels of skill, fitness and also the coaching. Even dfenders have to be able to play these days. We are currently in a change of style too. The FA introduced grass roots a few years ago that encouraged kids to learn ball skills and the current England team is starting to benefit from these kids coming through. John Stones is an example of the ball playing defender. Some of our fans could not stand him, but that's because they wanted him to boot the ball out of play all the time. Just enjoy it mate. There is a revolution in progress.

YOu are right of course but I hope we get a bit more balance in time as good tackling is a joy to watch just as much as skillfull forwards, John Stones is a good example of this who I liked. I do however feel that forwards have to much protection and with VAR fear we might get a lot of silly penalties because forwards are good at cheating, sadly one of these is Richalerson but I could name many in the prem.
I hope in time we get a better balance between attacking and defending this will make games a bit more interesting. Even in the few years since the Moyes era the game has changed and he is a dinosuer these days but we need more than just pretty passing and the more skilled team winning to the game.
It is the variety of tactics, skills etc that draw me to this game. Sunday morning I watch games in my local park and still enjoy it. Who know the future, enjoy your summer, fixures out 9/ 6 not long.

I am the total opposite to you DC but you've probably already guessed that.
That said, I understand your pain and understand where you are coming from.

I am hoping that VAR actually stops the silly penalities and diving DC. But that all rests on the refs dishing out yellows to diving strikers though.
