Well you have to give credit to Jordan Pickford. I was very confident that he would save at least 1 penalty. And as long as he can keep doing that then England will continue to shake this monkey off their backs that is penalty shootouts.

Totally agree TA i think Pickford has that belief he has a penalty save in him and takes a good one as well 😉
Unfortunately Stones still has that potential for a costly error in him 🤦🏻‍♂️.

I agree Ace. Pickford is the most confident keeper England have had in many years.
Not just because he's a blue but I always have an unusual confidence in him when playing for England (unusual in that previous keepers always make you feel on edge) and in penalty situations you always believe that he'll save at least one. and generally does.

I know what you mean, Trev. I think the last England keeper that I had confidence in when facing a penalty was Seaman.

We need a decent penalty taker, why not Pickford?

DC - if the penalty is saved then we would be screwed with no one back in our goal. But in a penalty shoot out he looks a good bet for one 👍.

Aren't they changing the rules on penalties next season whereby if one is taken, the ball is dead whether it goes in or is saved?

Although I guess a keeper like Ederson would score from the resulting goal kick.
