The players we are being linked with seem costly to me. If we sign Zouma then it will be atleast 52m on just those two (don't quote me I don't really have a clue just estimating based on reports) . It doesn't leave that much room for transfers. Of course selling will raise costs but how much is impossible to gage atm. I don't really see us getting the targets that we are linked with. I can't see Juventus letting Moise Keane go. Neveres surely will cost a bomb. I don't have a clue about Meuniers cost with wages etc. Surely Kessie would require a big fee?

If we get Zouma for the reported fee then that’s two young high quality players tied down to long contracts. In today’s market £52 million circa is pretty reasonable. If we want top six then we need these players. We do need to raise funds by selling players. Or at least releasing a few high earners on free contracts. We need a striker and some more defensive cover. How much we have for that we just don’t know.

Let Marco and Marcel decide what we need and what we don't Bt, money is not our concern they are building a Team to at last try and get in the top six, to tie Gomes and hopefully Zouma down first is an excellent piece of business, let's see who comes in next, exciting times ahead for us Blues.

Toffee Ace surely if we release any player on a free we would still have to provide an exit package that is suitable to all parties so we would be out of pocket for no return and as the payments would be on the books it would still affect our ability to buy and pay wages for new additions. Brands and Silva will need to think very carefully about how they get round this unenviable mess.

Guernsey I'm not proposing I take over the team as manager? Just pointing out that we have spent a large sum of money retaining what we already have. We seem to want a few positions filling. The amount of income from transfers out is uncertain. This is a banter page we're people speak, debate and ponder so please do not attempt to silence me. I trust in Brands and Silva. I just wanted to post what I had inside my mind. Money plays a factor. The more we spend on a striker, the less we have on other areas for example. I can see it being a squeeze financially. There is limits financially you know? The club cannot just spend what it likes in pursuit of the top 6. It is a balance and a balance which I see as being difficult. I'm happy with Everton set-up but that does not make it any easier in regards to ins and outs. I was posting out of interest. I remember why I stayed away from this site for a while.

To be honest sa90 I’m not entirely sure about the exit fees. I was just thinking on the drain of resources with their wages. I take your point if it’s counterproductive. Main thing is we all to one degree or another have a lack of understanding as to how much is truly available for player acquisitions. So I’ll go with GBs point and leave it to Brands and Silva.

50m+ for Gomes and zouma would represent value and incredible business people have to realise £40m is pretty average for players in prem now wan Bissaka just cost 50m.

Sorry Bt but I don't agree money is a factor, what goes on in transfers etc is so complicated as fans we can't possibly be expected to understand it whether a player is worth this or that amount, so in my mind its much better to let the ones dealing with it get on with it, at the end of the day mate we are all fans on here and want is the best we can get, let's chill out and enjoy the ride, as I said b4 exciting times ahead.

Zouma for under 40 mil would be a great deal for us, when u think Man City dropped £50 mil on Stones, and with the way the market has changed, i think its a good deal.

I think ed002 has covered the money aspect sufficiently in the past, for us all to realize that it just too complicated for supporters to worry about. So far Brands has done a great job and no doubt this will continue this summer. I don't believe all of the problems associated with either recruiting or moving unwanted players out will be solved this transfer window. It will take time, but I have every confidence that the present management know what is needed.

I was speculating for fun Guernsey. What so we can spend 300m ?

52 million is great if we can get Zouma. I think Zouma is vital. I'm Confident Everton will do well. I was putting a thought out there. I won't post next time hey Guernsey?

I'm not stopping anyone doing anything, I was saying my thoughts. Silva and Brands may continue in peace. The balance intrigues me.

Why oh why to people get so hung up over money? All we, as supporters, should worry about is whether or not the player improves the team. Gomes and Zouma were a major part of the late season renaissance last year and it honestly doesn’t bother me whether the club paid £100m each for them! We have no idea how the finances work at the club and we should mind our own business imo.

Ed 002 gets fed up answering such questions as people who do not know anything argue with him. I'm not getting advanced in finances, we don't have a bottomless pit and balance is in business. This interests me. I'm not talking about release packages, agent fees, clauses. I was hoping to get into debate about which players we could get in who are cheaper options if we spend big on player/ players. I don't care now though and probably won't be posting on here anymore.

It will cost what it will cost mate, whether we agree as fans if its over the top or not will not matter one iota, i just happen to think we are at last going to give it a go.

I'm leaving it to Marcel and Marco. They know what money they have to spend and they proved last year that they know how to spend it wisely which is more than we can say for some of Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce's signing. I'm sure there will be some mistakes - we all make them but these two seem to know what they are doing. Would be nice if we could a couple more done soon now that we are already in pre season training but I'm happy after last year that the club is going in the right direction
Blue Tit - keep posting. There will have to be some decisions on what they can spend and on whom but let them make it. I don't think we will be disappointed. Gomes was done at a very good price. Richarlison - everyone was saying too expensive last season but look what he's worth now. Keep the Faith
COYB.

Blue got you point how that it is a banter site for exchanging opinions but then you're getting a bit agro because people are airing opinions disagreeing with you!

{Ed001's Note - no, his point is they are all telling him to stop giving his opinion and just sit back and let the club handle it.}
