I can't be the only one underwhelmed by cazoo at a reported 10 million a year which is only a 400k a year improvement on sportspesa whixh puts us on par with West ham but still 25 mill behind the next highest spurs 30 mill behind arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea 35 mill behind city and 54 mill behind utd now I'm not saying we should be anywhere near those teams when it comes to sponsorship but 10 million shows me that once again that the people at the top don't really have any idea when it come to valuing our club and for some reason deal after deal show how inept they are.

{Ed002's Note - Why would you value the club more than, say, West Ham?}

Never been out of the premiership or been relegated since 1951/ 52 consistently finish above them have a richer history all in all a bigger club ED02. our biggest problem is from a commercial point we have to be one the worst run clubs in Europe they sat in their hands while the other clubs went about promoting their brand throughout the world we should of jumped on the bandwagon when we had McBride Max Moore Tim Howard for USA Cahill AUS Li Tie China and we should of pushed our brand in those countries maybe then we could get better deals as we would be better known but I'm curious why you don't think we a better value club considering they have been a yo yo club for the last few years.

{Ed002's Note - This is a common problem fans have - nobody cares what happened 60 or 70 years ago. West Ham and Everton are clubs that have won nothing for years and both suffer from ownership issues - Everton has an owner who takes advice from third parties and has bought badly, West Ham has the dildo brothers who have made a mess and are constantly looking to change things. West Ham are a far more attractive club commercially as they are in London and have the stadium to match their failed aspirations.

At some point in the not too distance future a Premier League side will be purchased with a view to emulating the City Group. They tried to buy Newcastle as a starting point but that was always a non-starter - they would like a club that is a "lion waiting to roar" as their start and would also like a Premier League club, possibly London based, with owners willing to sell on the cheap. It is perhaps something that would have seen Everton considered - but it would not be a surprise to see West Ham considered now.

I am sorry, but Everton's shirt deal reflects their position in the big scope of things.}

I agree with most ED02 yes London clubs are commercially more attractive and I hope West Ham get taken over they are a great club with a fanbase similar to ours but if your going to sponsor a club and get maximum exposure you need a club that's 99.9% sure of being in the premiership which is why I would think we are better value.

{Ed002's Note - Sponsorship deals carry clauses based upon winning and relegation.}

hate saying this but we are nowhere near a team to be consistent enough and i don't mean top 4 i mean trophy hear and there europe league aswell would be a bonus but ever since this investment fans like myself and others have expected everton to be making progress sadly not the case this is why we lose are best players and to be quite honest i don't blame them in the slightest now we got the oppisite of buying rubbish players and also who are on high wages that other teams won't buy them from us massive clear out in summer and buy sensible we need get ffp of us sooner the better.

{Ed002's Note - The club should be working with Blands to get the same approach through the first team and down to the kids. Get the scouts working with Brands to start to refine the team. Stop the owner taking very expensive third party advice. Have a cull of the mass of LW. A cheap starting point.}

Well I for one certainly care about what happened 142 years ago. The comment about trying to stop the owner taking third party advice, I accept, it has been a disgrace and dropped us well into the financial mire. There is plenty of experience still within the Club and more importantly from people that actually care.

coudnt agree more ed002 i see clubs that have been bought in the past that have went to the next level we must be the only club to have had a takeover and went backwards some one behind the scenes has made a real mess manager appointments player recruitments if we carnt progress under c. a who by the way has probly been evertons best appointment by far with the clubs he has managed and also the trophies he has won then am sorry who can i hope to god we just clear the whole deck sort the high wage players out get them gone and what i have previously said get young prospects but no doubt c. a deserves good few years cause are team is average.

Seriously people we are not going to get the shirt sponsor like the top clubs until we are competing and in champions league, obviously when we are in new stadium then they should go up as we will be in better position for sponsors.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about, we were never going to get a massive deal like the top 6 clubs.

However we’ve done well to move away from a betting company as a sponsor, as I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks there is way too much gambling advertising in sport and this can only be a good thing not having a gambling sponsor - It also means the kids who get kits can have the same ones they see the players and parents in.

We’ve also improved on our last deal and managed to get the largest sponsorship we’ve had in our time as a club.

It’s a 3 year deal and by the time it comes to an end maybe moshiri, brands and Ancelotti will have made us a better proposition and we can look for a bigger deal.

Think a lot of the fans need to get over the thinking we are a big club - we were in the 80’s but haven’t been for years

We definitely have the potential with brilliant fans, billionaire owner, good manager. some good players and a new stadium to look forward to - however we’re not there yet, once those all line up and we start performing how we could we may slowly get back to being a big club.

I for one am impressed with the current plight with C.V. and the financial impact its having that we’ve actually managed to secure a deal of this nature.

What are you saying Ed! Cull some of our Left Wingers! Madness 😂
On a more serious note we are currently a mid table team and clearly being pulled in two different directions!
We have just landed a deal replacing sportpesa which is the biggest non gambling deal outside the top six. The club made a moral decision to move away from gambling sponsors which I feel was the right decision and now the kids can have proper replica shirts with the sponsor!
We may not have heard of Cazoo as it’s only been running around a year but is doing well and the guy behind it also has Zoopla as well as a few other ventures.
I also read that the deal lines up with other sponsorships to end when we move to the new stadium which is when we would offer some bigger pull off the pitch and hopefully we will have addressed the financial concerns and what is happening on the pitch!
Now is the time to take the shackles off Brands and let him do what he is good at and let Ancelotti deal with the here and now on the pitch. And as Ed says curtail these 3rd party advisors sucking the life out the club!

Seems like a good deal all round the club has gone out and found a sponsor that will add value over the old deal and its a child friendly brand so all the kits can be identical. The company may well be new but so what. One of the reasons that London clubs can get more is because of brand exposure, London has almost 10 times the population density of Liverpool. So even if you exclude the fact that we are seen by the vast majority as the second club in Liverpool, we haven't won't a trophy for 25 years we are not currently in European completions and usually get about 2 mins exposure at the end of the public broadcast of our beloved sport. Its unlikely that we would be able to get much more. I my opinion its a good deal especially in the current economic climate.

I love your expertise Ed002 and love (at times) your to the point comments. However, would you like to revisit your 'no one cares' statement! If only because obviously people do care.

{Ed002's Note - There is no evidence that anyone other than Everton fans care in the slightest about what happened in the past. It certainly won’t attact players to the club.}
