Anyone watching this Brighton team. The guy who scored the winner cost what 3 million and he is an excellent footballer. Brighton play out from the back try and keep possession and break through the lines. You don't need to be Man City to play modern football and it's refreshing to see teams like Brighton show clubs like us exactly how football should be played in 2023.Why don't we have their manager or play like them they have spent 10% of what we have and look at the successful on the deck football they are playing. Their Passing was a delight to watch and they didn't panic or hoof it when Liverpool pressed them they played football on the ground and passed their way up the pitch. We couldn't pass the salt. We are an embarrassment and now Dyche. Just watched Brightons modern day football then next week vs Arsenal will be 9 at the back 1 up front can't wait.

That's the spirit Cheshireblue. Bashing Dyche before he's even had his 1st game.

Why didn’t we sign Messi from 9 years old? Why didn’t we get a young pep Guardiola before he retired so he could have his first job with us. I just watched the 2009 champions league final, why can’t we play like that Barcelona team? How embarrassing.

You do know that football doesn’t work like “I just watched this really good thing, it’s so easy why don’t we just do it”, right? Some teams are just better than us.

They are an exceptionally well run club. As I understand it, the owner made his money through his sports betting syndicate - rumour has it he has an very successful algorithm; created to predict probability in multiple sports events, and that this algorithm has been implemented as part of the recruitment process for BHA.

{Ed001's Note - that is Brentford.}

I agree Cheshire mate, they guy matoma, is excellent, Brighton have been doing this for a good few years, they are a well run club. Also, look at the players they have sold already, about 140 million so far, they also have caicedo who will probably go to Arsenal for 60 million.

That’s just been silly now swan. The players and managers are out there you just have to find them but we couldn’t find an elephant in a bathroom . The recruitment is an absolute disgrace embarrassing the football we play.

Brighton's scouting system has to be one of the best in the country. Cucarella was bought for 12 mill and sold for 65 mill. Arsenal willing to pay 70 mill for Caecido . He was bought for 5 mill. Unbelievable the money they have made over the last few years.

And then there is us. It’s disgusting how our club has been run. The players we buy can’t play football who the heck signs these deals off. football has moved on teams like Brentford and Brighton have moved with it. They realised you don’t need to be Man City to play football and it’s working for them. While we are stuck in the past playing rubbish football and I thinks it’s going to get a whole lot worse.

Geography has a big part to play. Let's be honest the city is world famous for the other club to non British players. And Btown is on the south coast 45 minutes from London. I feel we lose out on players a lot for this reason. Its definitely a handicap. Man City had the same issues for years under the current regime. Luckily they were happy to wack the wages up and their neighbours were on the decline at the same time. Listening to ex players talk about the Danjuma last minute Spurs decision state that locations are a big deal to players as too training facilities (spurs have the best in the world though ours are also very good) and the stadium (again spurs probably have the world's best if not Europe) is also a key reason. Spurs simply trumped us in all departments. We need to squash this relegation tag after surviving this season, otherwise that will be a blot against too. The new stadium will be a massive boost to revenue and recruitment. The fact our 23s have lost their way since Usworth and Brands left has also depleted our appeal to youth players. Only takes a couple of years to screw up our reputation.

Did you not watch the Brighton match bill. If you need to ask Wtf modern day football is watch the highlights later on.

I watched it, thought some of the passing was awful from both teams. And unless I’m mistaken wasn’t it a cross and a header down that set up the goal?
“Modern” football = players diving, feigning injury and wasting time. Oh and VAR.

I’m not denying the club is run terribly and recruitment has been a joke for years.

I just don’t get hating on Dyche like it’s his fault when he hasn’t even been announced yet.

Cheshire of course, it was a game of football. It is played 11 v 11 all over the World, both sides try to win. Did you watch the game!

Ed001 - I'm not looking for an argument, but look up Tony Bloom and Starlizard.

{Ed001's Note - I have read the story. But the story is up there with flat earth theories in believability. It is down to good scouting and the heavy use of statistical analysis, not some magical algorithm that applies to all sports.}

Might have to mocker when these guys are finished running our club into the ground and we go into administration we all might have to look for a different team to support.
