Credit where it’s due!
Great performance by the boys! After getting pegged back against run of play we didn’t buckle and kept pressing. I wasn’t happy when Beto was swapped for DCL as I wanted both up top but credit to SD his sub worked with DCL’s goal. At last fellow blues we can watch MOTD and start to enjoy a Saturday night.

PS - I’m so happy we got Beto. I’m predicting now he’ll win us the derby.

To be honest PHH i was disappointed with Beto.
He didn’t press anything like he should, his first touch was poor, I thought he had a turn of pace but it wasnt evident today and he should have scored
I might be being over critical but DCL was far better when he came on.
Gueye was poor, in the first half losing possession too often in dangerous areas, but got his act together in the second half.
Also, Doucoure was immense but Onana needs to control the midfield more but overall a much better performance and a welcome 3 points.
Thank goodness SD listened to the fans and installed Jarrod Branthwaite who is an absolute gem and will only get better.

Harsh on Beto that. He’s a presence and worked hard. It’s great that we actually have two strikers now.
Young impressed me today showing his experience and positioning. Tarks and Branthwaite look solid, Tarks a leader and always a threat attacking set pieces. Some of Branthwaite reading of the game today and interceptions was excellent, also good on The ball. Gueye did get caught out and against better teams we will get punished. I would prefer Garner pushed into the centre once Harrison is fit.

Onana was better first half and looked like the player he did when he first arrived, still more to come from him but he kept the ball well first half. Doucoure and McNeil both worked their socks off all game. Doucoure unlucky not to get another goal. McNeil delivery is such a weapon we have missed. I look forward to Ali coming back into team and push Doucoure for that AMC role.

DCL scored and I’m so pleased he did.
Personally I loved Beto winning headers, holding play and on end of our attacks…
Agree to disagree which is always better after a win ?
But I’d love both Beto and DCL together next 2 home games.
