Any substance to the Steven Bergwijn rumours? Obviously we have had reports of lozano from PSV, but his playing partner Bergwijn is a hot young talent. All top English clubs are apparently interested in him, but with DOF coming from there, anything stronger than rumours coming from this?
Also very happy with us trimming the dead wood from our ranks. Reportedly 12 players on the cards to leave. I just really really hope that doesn't include lookman. I think he will be an amazing asset for us in the prevailing years.
Very excited for this year! Really think Silva and brands have their heads screwed on right. Might actually be proud to watch a game this year and get excited to watch us play. Because last year was a sham. I felt embarrassed to watch us most of the time. let's GET BEHIND THE TEAM COYB.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Everton in Steven Bergwijn and am not aware that Brands would look to his old club at all aside from possibly a player that was on loan there. The Lozano interest dates from when RK was manager. There is PL interest in Bergwijn from elsewhere of course.}

Why is everyone hoping we sign 'hot young talent'?
Yes, IF they make the breakthrough it's fantastic, but we already have a lot of youngsters struggling to find a way into the 1st team so swelling the ranks further is just unnecessary.
For now our priority should be to buy proven players who can immediately strengthen us. Once we have a solid team who is able to compete for a cup and decent league position, then we can look for youngsters who will be the next big thing.
I want success in a year or 2, not in a decade.

I have said before I think Brands will work with Silva for now and also the future
Will also work closely with Unsworth as well.

I think we have dodged a bullet with mina, my Barcelona supporting friends reckon he is a poor defender.
We don't need goalscoring defenders we need an out and out rock at the back.

Mason Holgate. At 21 is coming into his prime. Still a kid at the mo but didn't look out of place in the team.

Agree Degsy, I have big hopes for him this year. He made a couple of fluffs last year but put into context he was one of if not our best defender until he got injured.

Mina is not that good, he has no pace, would have loved Mawson but we did not bid.

Would like to add, thank you BS for your 7 months in charge. You got us out of a troubled situation. And got us to finish 8th. Which would have been a dream for most of us at the point he picked up the team. But he isn't the type of manager to get us to the next stage. Push into the top 4. Looks a bit of a pipe dream looking at at how we played in comparison to the those above us. I am now excited again for next year now that BIG Sam has gone and rumoured with some big (ish) names. Silva would be a great signing. My preferred choice would be Fonseca. But silva is who I wanted 7 months ago. So I would be very happy with him. Who ever it is: let's GET BEHIND HIM AND let's GET BACK TO THE TOP WHERE WE BELONG! Could be the last few seasons in goodison park, let's make it shake!

I speculate your a tool. If you don't like what the eds have to say, why be on their site. They give us good knowledge on what they think is going to happen. And often it's true. Yes a lot is speculation, but they know a damb site more about the transfers than you or I, or why would you be in this site looking for an insite. Grow up. Eds you do a great job. Don't let a wannabe deflate your great work!
