What about this Wallace fella? Every time I read something mentioning him it's that we are watching him with a view to a summer move.

Listening to the way some of us on here think our team should of done this season we should of qualified for champions league by January. We got stability in the boardroom a very good manager and the start of what should be a very good new stadium I am happy with progress. Just because the Man City team now is a top side with championships and big name stars it took a bit of time to get to that so we need to be realistic about where we should be by now

I would like to see new gk maybe 2 cb and a st and 2 st if we can't keep lukaku all of them need to be ready now not ones that are for the future that been said if we can add future players on top of that will be a very happy blue.

If we are to get Keane the only way it will be done this transfer window is if we pay them now and he stays there till the summer. That's my thinking anyway

Watched the Spurs match yesterday was impressed that most of their youth players that was playing where for the most a cohesive unit that moved the ball and kept it when needed. Later on the commenters said that this was down to all the teams from under 23s right down to the youngest team plays the way Tottenham first team play from set up to set pieces. This seams to make sence for developing youth maybe this way you don't have to send players out on loan as much. Everton has some great young talent that we never seam to get the best out of as if they do make the first team they struggle to adapt to the higher standeds of play or tactically they don't fit in the position they are played in this then has a knock on effect to the young player and maybe holds him back. Now I'm not saying that how our youth teams are run is not good as we are producing some great players it was just somthing that I had never thought of that made sense why not get our players playing how the first team plays so if and when they are ready/ needed they won't be out of their depth and have a load of players that suposedley was the next big thing to 3 years later we let go because they never reached their potential. Having money (like we now have) is great and is how you survive and challenge for trophies but we also need to bring players through not saying that we would end up like United did with the class of 92 but that being said getting youth to understand what is wanted/ needed of them so that when a established player is out injured we won't be oh crap we only got the kids and then the established player will also have to work hard to get their place back rather then just walk straight back in. Sorry if I went on a bit

To be fair our youth set up is fantastic and we have produced high quality players for a number of years.

David Unsworth and the rest have done wonders there and are probably the most sought after youth coach's there are in the business. If you want any more proof take a look at what Unsy done against Norwich last year with a few kids.

We also do the same as Spurs and pay big money now for young players at other clubs. Just like Alli, Noughton, Walker, Rose and the rest they bought. It's not necessarily their youth set up and more they buy other clubs good work.

2.) 09 Jan 2017 15:43:50
I agree we've had some really exciting kids come through. Plus finch farm has a huge reputation we sign them easier these days. We have a huge amount out on loan as well. Great work

Ok we all must agree we should of not only beaten Watford but destroyed them. I have no faith in us to turn a side over 3/ 4-0 anymore personally would like us to play 3 at the back baines and Coleman as wingbacks with either 3 man midfield withTWO upfront or 2 in midfield 2 upfront with one behind. If that didn't work try something else don't stick to one way of play. This January must be big fir us and none of this deadline day shot either on the 1/ 1/ 17 we best be either parading a new player or players.

Alyn1981

{Ed025's Note - it seems like a battle of wills at the moment alyn, the players dont seem to be adapting to the managers style of play and something has got to give, as you say we need an influx of players to freshen things up, i know i keep saying it but dont expect miracles in january mate..

1.) 11 Dec 2016 16:39:37
Hi Ed025. Not sure what the managers style of play is at the moment. It was pretty clear to me what Martinez style was but I am not quite sure what Koeman wants the players to do. Whatever it is I presume that they are not doing it. Any ideas?

{Ed025's Note - apparently he is an advocate of the high press mike, watching us though its hard to believe as we are so sluggish, its been suggested that a lot of our team are not buying into that and thats where we have a problem, if this is the case then we are between a rock and a hard place and somethings got to give so its either change the manager or the players mate...its the players for me..

2.) 11 Dec 2016 17:02:40
Agree with above. Also, maybe Koeman doesn't know himself what is the best or first choice players. He has after all only 15 games under his belt. Prob has a good idea but if things don't work out as planned he obviously has to go back to square one.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 17:08:23
ed if the players aren't buying into koemans tactics get rid i they are a disgrace in any job you would be sacked.

{Ed025's Note - i agree OTB..

4.) 11 Dec 2016 17:33:31
Thanks ed appreciate your reply. It's pretty obvious that we need a clear out of players and new ones to come in but that will take time. At the moment we play with essentially 7 defensive minded players (I've included the goalkeeper and the two midfield players) and four attacking players. Very difficult to play a high press mode with that team. We need some attacking midfielders who can move the ball forward quickly and also score goals. Until we get this type of player maybe Koeman needs to asses what the players he has can do and modify the playing style to maximize the players capabilities. Let's face it the same players did pretty well for the first five games of the season. What style were they playing then?

{Ed025's Note - thats very true mike and thats why we have been saying that this is a minimum 2 year enterprise before the team will be koemans baby, as you say he can only do so much with this bunch and will gradually weed out the wheat from the chaff, it wont be easy mate and it will certainly be a bumpy ride...so fasten your seat belts..

5.) 12 Dec 2016 09:39:00
What some of us are missing is during the 1st 5 games of the season a lot of teams were also bedding in their players sorting out new systems and getting their own houses in order now they have settled down they are becoming much harder to play against. RK is actually finding out who is capable of playing the way he wants and it pretty obvious that there are not many. Its going to be a long hard season me thinks but I still think we will be stronger for it.

6.) 12 Dec 2016 12:40:27
Couldn't agree more sa90.

There is a few problems with signing him 1st he is at Southampton they won't do us any favours 2nd he has had a bad injury 3rd and lastly he just not that good we need s striker that will get you 20 goals a season if not more and not s player that will get us 10.

If you had 13+billion and the guy that has more say than you has 8+billion and you are willing to put more money in then the other guy and you can't get much say on the board the I can see why we are getting linked with usmanov. Not saying it will happen but you can see why the link is there.

No mate no joke was in Starbucks by showcase and these 2 idiots was comparing their teams against the real Everton side while on Twitter nearly threw my expensive coffee at them but the thought of the price stopped me. My wife asked me what was up as I had to tell her that some of our fellow blues where idiots I never thought I would say that.

we all would love £50-£60m players but we not that big a deal as of yet. I would also like to tell blues to look at Malaga they was taken over in 2010 signed a lot of top stars they had debts and they was kicked out of Europe they had to sell all their star players and now are a middle of the table side. So splashing cash to make us fans happy while would be great I don't want to run that risk just to say yay we spent ££££ on this player. Chelsea thought they done well getting Torres for £50m he never looked like a £50m player to most.

I'm happy now feel if we keep this squad and manager we could do something just think we need to take step by step I would love us to jump from 11th to top 3 but we got to be realistic about things.

The thing about premier league loans for our youngsters it shows them that 1 they have a quality already. 2 makes them push to be good enough to come back here and fight for a place next year. 3 most importantly the game to game side of things is a lot different from the under 23s. Good luck to him.
