I'm a big fan of making up random (but technically correct) stats. In regards to our business this window, if/ when Sigurdsson signs for £50mill, of the first team signings we have spent roughly £21mill per player in transfer fees. Given the current market, if you ask me that seems like good business.
Can go further and say that of those signings if each player finishes their career at the age of 33 (guessed that's a fair age for players to hang up the boots) that's an average of 8 years left per player in their careers.
Given the current market and quality of each individual player we have signed I'd say £21mill for 8 years/ per player is pretty damn good!

I've been a reader for years but have only just felt the need to register a profile to respond to this post. Won't go on the attack against Ryan but I will say that I love the fact that Ed02 can be to the point and on the nose when it's warranted ie. the same questions and comments from posters unwilling to search for an answer already given. Always gives me a good laugh. Love all the work all the Ed's put in day in day out, all the way from down under. There's so very little chat about the blues in this part of the world, every man and his dog is a kopite bandwagoner from years passed. Hopefully that'll change with our new investment rolling in. Keep up the good work lads!
