Another rumour going around is that the owner of the New York Yankees ( Hal Steinbrenner) is also ready to step in and buy Moshiri out. Figure of £1 billion to buy shares clear debt, loans etc and squad investment.
He has a part share in AC Milan so football investment wouldn’t be a new deal.
Who knows what’s going to happen it’s all a big mess at the moment and either something is very wrong with 777’s investment or the premier league are being obstructive.

1.) 26 Feb 2024 01:11:32
If you think I hate the Red Sox and the Fenway group, the Yankees are a whole other level of vitriol from my part.

All said, I’ll accept Steinbrenner and is money and organization. Any links to that rumor?

2.) 26 Feb 2024 08:01:10
It was a RossAftbl on X, number of them seen a BMD ?‍♂️ not sure on strength but thought I’d pass it on.

3.) 26 Feb 2024 16:05:58
If true, our skies could be blue again Big C.

4.) 26 Feb 2024 20:36:38
Nothing wrong with the Yankees, the most successful baseball team, well run and make a lot of money. Can't see it happening unfortunately but if it did they would turn this club around to be well run, successful and most importantly much more pleasurable to watch.

5.) 26 Feb 2024 21:12:26
I would take that, would also take Arabs but not Saudi's, mind you it didn't bother Masters.

6.) 28 Feb 2024 10:37:14
Nought wrong with baseball. Once pulled a hammy playing rounders.

7.) 28 Feb 2024 14:03:54
Very popular sport around my wat HK, local sports shops are always sold out of bets, plenty of balls in stock though?.

31 Jan 2024 21:08:26
The bobble saying we’ve rejected a bid for Godfrey from AC Milan.

Big C

1.) 31 Jan 2024 21:59:15
Reading Sheff Utd want Holgate. Happy days if that’s true. Hoping for a loan to come in, preferably a playmaker, when Doucoure isn’t in that role we can’t score and I can’t see us bringing in another striker after buying Beto.

2.) 31 Jan 2024 22:33:39
Gibbo, hopefully we haven't lost the receipt for Beto. 25m is looking like we've had our pants pulled down yet again.

3.) 01 Feb 2024 07:26:49
Yeah, I like the guy, he clearly cares a lot (especially with his reaction at the end of the Fulham game, looked gutted) . But he can’t control and I’m not sure 10 minutes per game will give him the match sharpness to finish those chances. I feel his game is playing on the shoulder of the defender and picking up those passes that get put into the channels between defenders (which never come) . All he gets is balls hoofed up to him. We’re crying out for a midfielder who can pick a pass.

4.) 01 Feb 2024 07:53:31
No one no one out is my prediction.

5.) 01 Feb 2024 07:59:43
Does Holgate need a lift?

6.) 01 Feb 2024 08:43:49
Wouldn’t give up on Beto.
Hasn’t had a lot of minutes and takes a while to settle into a new country and league.
I’m fairly confident we’ll see much improved performances from him next season - just hope we’re still in the premier league.

7.) 01 Feb 2024 11:38:59
Each to their own opinion but unless you have a change of pace, can control a ball, head a ball, especially from 2 yards out, unchallenged with an open goal begging, you will never cut it in the EPL.

8.) 01 Feb 2024 13:03:55
Every great striker misses goals from 2yds out at sometime. Even average ones too.

9.) 01 Feb 2024 15:50:41
So Fancy would you rather have Nunez over Beto?

Nunez is fast, got decent control and can head a ball all things you require.

Yet he had 11 shots the other night, 5 on target, hit the woodwork 4 times, missed a penalty and didn’t score a single goal in the game.

I’d stick with Beto.

10.) 01 Feb 2024 16:21:59
I appreciate no striker, whatever their ability, will score everything time but, as I said FBS each to their own but I formed my opinion early doors, with regard to Beto, and I’ve seen nothing to change my mind. There are much better players available for £25m.

11.) 01 Feb 2024 16:29:22
In a heartbeat, Nunez carries a threat with his pace and skill, which brings other players into play, and yes he may have missed a lot of chances but remind me has he scored more goals than Beto, Harrison, McNeill and DCL combined this season?

{Ed025's Note - he is a very dangerous player Fancy, (especially if your in the stands behind the goal lol), frightens the life out of the defenders he faces mate and i would take him in a heartbeat..

12.) 01 Feb 2024 16:42:00
Agree with FS, I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest Beto will turn it around. Obviously, a great forward can miss from yards out but they also score some goals around bad misses. Beto puts the effort in but doesn't look like he has the ability to play at this level. 25m wasted at a time when every penny counts. I hope he proves me wrong but the evidence so far suggests otherwise.

The echo reporting that we’re looking at a Portuguese midfielder Xeka who was at Rennes last season and is now a free agent.
Do any of the Ed’s have any knowledge on this please.
Thanks in advance.

Big C

{Ed002's Note - It would be a surprise to me. Is he fit?}

1.) 14 Sep 2023 08:51:54
Don’t know Ed he signed for two years for Rennes last year and is now a free agent so doesn’t sound promising.

2.) 14 Sep 2023 23:34:05
Well Ed002, he'll fit right in if he's not fit. 100k a week, 5 year contract. That's the Everton way isn't it.

3.) 15 Sep 2023 08:52:05
Dentie we finally appear to be moving away from the previous recruitment that got us into some of the mess we are in.

Mail now having another dig saying we haven’t paid an agent. Hundreds of thousands apparently. Must have been some player.

3.) 20 Oct 2023 00:59:14
I really do wonder why the Dailey Mail, is always so keen to run negative stories about EFC.
In there latest bit of nonsence they have tried to blow up a story about a disputed agent's bill, don't no who is right or wrong over said bill, but in the greater world of football finance, a few hundred thousand pounds, is neither here or there. Just another stick to beat the club with, the mail can stick it where the sun don't shine .

Not just the daily Mail and not just Everton. The rags spin every story now and will write an inflammatory headline from almost nothing.

There are a number of discussion threads that I wish to comment on but I think the best way to give my point of view is to start a new one.
So a draw and two wins does not make us invincible, this season was always going to be about consolidation. SD has had one window and is about 8 or 9 games in with players coming back from injury and some playing in the premier league for the first time. I think if we’re honest with ourselves anywhere between 17th and 12th without too much of a dalliance near the relegation zone and possibly a semi reasonable run in the cups would show a steady improvement and be okay for this season and something to build on for next season with two more windows to strengthen.
So losing against Luton while not ideal was probably a reality check, for us as fans who suddenly get excited after some unexpected wins.
Do we think City fans are calling for peps head after their loss to Wolves. No! These things happen, the premier league is the best league and the toughest league in the world and no doubt we’ll get some more unexpected wins and unexpected losses.
However the difference between last season and this season is that we have strikers we are creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities and that sooner or later the goals will come and for now we will achieve comfortable mid table mediocrity this season. A platform to build on.
Consistency is something that the team need they need to have consistent performances, a consistent starting 11, consistent messages from the the coaching staff, a consistent style of play, the instability in the boardroom will be playing it’s part too the sooner that is remedied the better, be it 777 or someone else it needs to be settled.
Calling for SD to be sacked will not help, managing Everton is a poisoned chalice at the moment and it will get that way that no one worth having would want to come.
In my opinion I believe he will get it right. We like FM just need to be patient and weather the storm.
We can help with that by playing our part at Goodison, the away fans certainly never stop singing the boys on, that’s how Goodison needs to be a loud noisy intimidating place to go, The nervous silence is deafening at times.
The debate about 777 rumbles on in the media. There is little that if you’re against the sale that you can do, protests will only feed the media’s portrayal of Everton fans and Goodison Park as toxic which in turn will impact efforts on the pitch.
We as fans just need to get behind the the team and be the 12th man .
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy where we are, but it’s to be. Expected with where we are at . It won’t be a great season but hopefully not like the previous two
Anyway just my thoughts

Is that you sean? ????? only joking Agreed ??.

3.) 07 Oct 2023 09:08:20
About as sensible a post as I’ve read on here Big C ?.

4.) 07 Oct 2023 09:08:52
Sorry but if you can’t win a home game, which is basically down to team selects and tactics then you’re not good enough.
As for expectations, well we should expect and demand more. Set your expectations low and you go nowhere.
That loss to Luton was all down to Dyche and his tactics. And people saying we were good for 15 mins? Well games last 90 mins + not 15.
Get use to losing and you will lose. Set your expectations low and you won’t progress. The manager should be demanding a lot more from this squad. But to do that he needs to be positive himself.

5.) 07 Oct 2023 09:19:59
Top post . A common sense look at the situation and echoes my own opinion.

6.) 07 Oct 2023 09:45:59
Don't agree mate, I think he is the worst manager we have ever had, be gone by Xmas.

7.) 07 Oct 2023 10:12:47
Nailed it there Woburn. Wish others would take their rose tinted specs off and see the light.

8.) 07 Oct 2023 11:00:26
Doesn’t matter how many chances we create if we can’t convert them.

XG isn’t going to keep us up, points are.

Agree it’s going to be a tough season and we shouldn’t expect too much, however what we should expect and this is from dyche himself “the minimum requirement is maximum effort” unfortunately yet to see this.

Too many times there’s very little effort from the players and Dyche comments after games are becoming tiresome.

Pick a team and stick with it - the team that beat villa in the cup was very good - so next game he changed it and we lose! He’s not helping himself.

9.) 07 Oct 2023 11:14:07
If we don't win today, think it will be his last game for us?

10.) 07 Oct 2023 20:04:53
Just to clarify my expectations for Everton are champions league winners, my earlier post was just a dose of realism. We may go out to win every game and that is what we should try to do but back in the real world we might not and after todays win we face them and West Ham right now if I was offered two 0-0 draws I’d take them . My hopes are that we put up loads of effort and maybe sneak a better result the other side of me hopes we don’t get spanked. We are a work in progress and things are working well and fate maybe played a hand in finding the right blend.
Don’t change a winning side!
Fingers crossed and lucky pants on and sing the boys home is all we can do
Have a happy night blues, watch MOTD and enjoy

03 Oct 2023 12:35:18
Well who knows what’s going to happen against Bournemouth, if the nervous silence persists then we’ll lose as it will feed their confidence and wreck ours . If we draw we’re in the glass half empty half full scenario depending on your point of view, a win and the noise surrounding winless at Goodison stops and confidence returns.
All we can do is get behind the team and shout and sing them home. We all know what a rocking Goodison does it’s worth a goal on its own.
Not sure what Dyche will do but if it was me I’d go :-

Pickford
Godfrey, Tarkowski, Branthwaite
Garner, Onana
Harrison Danjuma McNeil
DCL, Beto

I’d let the second three rotate across the pitch behind the strikers

UTFT COYB.

Big C

1.) 03 Oct 2023 13:01:28
I like your choice big c but it won’t happen. Dyche will try and set us up not to concede? And hope we can Nick a goal.

2.) 03 Oct 2023 13:17:14
Probably the best line up Big C, but like Woburn says, too attacking for Dyche. Guarantee that Gueye plays alongside Onana.

3.) 03 Oct 2023 13:22:42
The problem is Beto and DCL are too similar they both make the same runs and they are getting in each others way. Well that’s what I seen when Beto came on. Through time they might work that out but we don’t have time that’s the problem.

4.) 03 Oct 2023 13:53:17
Godfrey on the right!

5.) 03 Oct 2023 15:05:09
Ideally I’d have Seamus on the right of a back 3 but as he’s not fit I went with a right side centre half who has played right back before, who wasn’t Michael Keane. Don’t think Patterson has played a back 3 and Young hasn’t got the physicality. Also Godfrey will stay defensive as there are plenty of forward options. As people have said it won’t happen anyway
UTFT COYB.

6.) 03 Oct 2023 19:11:46
Patterson for Godfrey for me and Doucoure for danjuma but i don't mind your starting line up either love how we all have different opinions. COYB.

7.) 03 Oct 2023 22:08:00
I agree Ron Mac, Danjuma doesn’t have the engine or the ability to play box to box and would weaken the midfield, whilst Patterson is a far better bet than Godfrey who has gone backwards in terms of performance and reliability.
My concern is the inability of the manager and his coaching staff to see where the basic defensive issues are and address them by specialised one on one coaching.
Both Patterson and Mykolenco’s defensive positioning and spatial awareness could very quickly be improved
and our commitment, determination and desire to deal with set piece challenges. I appreciate Mycolenko switched off and was caught way out of position for the second goal but Onana should have headed the ball clear but failed to attack the ball.
I don’t subscribe to the excuse that we are short on options because in my opinion we have a far more balanced squad with the ability to have impact from the bench.
But why SD decides to change the tactics and team setup following the performance at Villa for the home game against Luton is incomprehensible.

8.) 04 Oct 2023 18:50:56
Godfrey is Holgate with a different number. That’s why even Keane starts before him now. He’s gone so far backwards the past 2 seasons that i’d sell him asap.

9.) 04 Oct 2023 19:20:58
Couldn’t agree more JoeMc-EFC
I’d have Dyche in the back 4 before BG.

10.) 05 Oct 2023 10:38:42
Godfrey's hero is Rio Ferdinand and he wanted to play like him. Unfortunately that hasn't worked out. The lad needs to forget trying to be someone else and just be himself.

So following on from my previous post just, usamanov isn’t going to benefit or profit from the sale of Everton. Moshiri hasn’t been sanctioned so there is no problem.
Journalists are supposed to report the news not create it, which is unfortunately what happens today to sell papers or click bait and reel people in .
Do you honestly think we would be this far along in the process if there was any evidence of anything on either side being a matter of concern. As I’ve said Everton will have carried out due diligence as will 777 into moshiri and Everton fc .

Moshiri sold his shares in Arsenal to usamanov and then used that money to buy into Everton . Usamanov tried to buy Arsenal but he himself sold his shares to Kronke when Kronke wouldn’t sell . This all happened long before the war in Ukraine started so Moshiri can sell his shares in Everton to whoever he wants to, subject to those persons or companies meeting the fit and proper standards.

Too many special friends and trusted advisors giving him bad advice and thinking that big salaries and Hollywood signings bring success and failing to standby some managers and supporting the wrong ones for too long . I think his biggest fault was not listening to the right people.
It’s a shame really he wanted and I believe still wants the best for the club . He’s just not got football in his bones if that makes sense and couldn’t see how he was getting it wrong, the Benitez appointment as a point in case.
Hopefully 777 will get the sports business management back on track, whereby we are financially stable and leave KT and SD to do their
jobs.

I thought the maximum punishment was a 12 point deduction?

We’ve already received 10 and I heard the Prem were asking for 6 points for both us and Forrest.

The Prem have agreed that their rules are not fit for purpose and are being changed in August to come into line with UEFA/ FIFA

This is in line with our case of being hit with a double jeopardy being charged with 75% of the offence we’ve already been punished for.

If as i stated above the prem are asking for 6 points deduction for Forrest on their first offence then it would indicate that our 10 points may get reduced to 6

Do the Ed’s know if the 75% of the first charge that is subject of the second charge is 100% of the second charge or there is an additional 25% of misspending in the new years covered?

Hope that makes sense .

Thanks in anticipation.

Big C

{Ed002's Note - They are entirely separate matters. They will hear the appeal and then do the second charge where Everton will need to explain why they failed to action knowing they were in breach. Nottingham Forest will attempt to reach a settlement.}

I think once the deal is done we’ll be fine and there may be funds available at the moment it’s in doubt and it may be dependent upon FM being gone. He’s obviously not going to put funds in and finances are probably tied into the deal. No doubt Ed2 will advise us accordingly, I’m not getting into finances but just talking in general terms.
Would be genuinely grateful if you could give us a steer on the situation Ed 2, also I would think SD and KT will have a plan and be able to move quickly once the deal is completed.

Big C

{Ed002's Note - The situation is dire. The club cannot afford the wages and have been borrowing from 777Partners each month.}

From what Sean said no one is leaving as the squad is thin . Onana will be a world class midfielder. If we had our 10 points we would be 10th and the way we’re playing we’d be looking to push for a European place. Next season that could be a reality . Do we want to be selling our best players?

I was thinking football themed with major tv companies called ‘ Cloud’, or something like that and another called by some initials like BNB and they dictate how the football league pans out by influencing the outcome by the clever use of VAR using graphics to move players either on or offside depending on which teams we’re playing, likewise with the goal line technology moving the ball. Denying penalties or giving them to suit they’re storyline. Like the Trueman show meets the premier league mash up.
All a fictional idea but I think it could be a success.
