With the financial crisis at Parma, what are the chances of us picking up a few players on a free transfer ed? they've got some decent players like Biabiany, Belfodil, mauri, Mirante Also what is the chances of us signing Hoarau from young boys on a free in the summer?

Evertonian1878

{Ed025's Note - i dont really follow italian football 1878, hoarau will be interesting a lot of PL clubs mate, us possibly one of them i hope..

Hoarau looked a handful but I don't think we should be looking to sign another 31 year old

{Ed025's Note - he is a free agent rick, so would not be much of a gamble i expect mate..

How come Arsenal and Aston Villa can have rich millionaires wanting to buy the club and yet not one person seems to be interested in buying one of the biggest clubs in England. It really doesn't make sense to me!

Evertonian1878

{Ed025's Note - the state of the ground and the money being asked puts prospective buyers off mate..

1.) 07 May 2015 19:16:01
ANSWER; Bill Kenwright.

{Ed025's Note - not just him JCW, but he is one of them..

2.) 07 May 2015 22:48:27
Nothing to do with the state of the ground, that's just a smoke screen. It's all down to how much the greedy owners want. and don't forget Bill is just a figurehead, it's the money men behind him bleeding the club dry.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with the last bit woburn, but to be honest the ground is not fit for purpose mate, to attract investors you need corporate hospitality, our ground although steeped in history is a mausoleum..

We have the potential to overcome this ground issue ,

and yes it is an ISSUE of massive proportions!

However we the fans are tired of this excuse,

and yes EXCUSE not REASON for the TOTAL LACK of progress in moving on!

We are smothered in BS every season to keep us hoping etc.

Please let there be an end to all the spin ,Chinese whispers and downright lies!

Ed I worked in construction for nearly 40 years, and believe me redeveloping the ground would not cost anything near what's been quoted. In fact the money spent looking for new sites, getting consultants to produce development programmes and plans would have paid for most of the refurbishment works. The biggest cost of building anything is when starting from scratch. We have the neucleous there, just knock a bit down then build a new bit, and do it section by section. Even the fools across the road have figured this out.

{Ed025's Note - i have also been in construction for 40 years woburn, and sometimes its more cost effective to cut your losses and just start again from scratch, the infrastructure around goodison is just not conducive to a modern new stadium imo mate...but then again i wanted martinez.. :)

There's no point blaming the money men bleeding the club dry as you say we have always been at the top of our wage limit so even if we had a 100m we would be spending more that we can't afford, only these new deals have changed that it comes down to the ground, because it holds 40k we have been in no rush now we're lagging behind
