Must be an all time low offering to pay for McCarthy over four years.

mcginley1975

1.) Need to get this board out

2.) Its the way most deals are done these days take no notice to dave whelan he's just trying to push the deal through

3.) Bill kenwright must think he is buying him from brighthouse haha

4.) Man Utd have swapped a Man keeping them No 1 for a Man keeping them No 6 or 7. We have swapped a man keeping us 6 or 7 for a man keeping us 15. Stuck with a CEO that could not negotiate his way out of a soggy sweet bag and a chairman with a broken watch. Wouldn't want to support anyone else.

5.) I know how can our club label utd offer for baines and fellaini awful and then we do same 4 years basically says we ain't got the money going to sleep now so disappointed

6.) I don't think he was worth what they were asking and are club knew it! this is turning into a farce

7.) By the time we finish payin for him he will be retiring

The comments saying that Brands and Silva have realised that this is a bigger job than they thought are a bit of the mark . I think that Brands and Silva had been sounded out regarding their positions way before being offered their prospective jobs and therefore already knew what was in store regarding how the who squad was in need of a re build .

mcginley1975

1.) 28 Jul 2018 08:41:36
Well they are the experts and I guess that until you open the bonnet, you don't know what the engine is like? Size, condition and parts needed? You may have had an idea but still be surprised at what you find?

2.) 28 Jul 2018 08:57:05
Staying on that analogy. If you’re an experienced mechanic then you pretty much know of any serious problems just by giving it a quick drive. I’d imagine that any serious issues with the playing staff would have been manifest before they came in.

Give it time to let the new way of playing to knit. Pep looked like a disaster in his first season losing 4-0 to us, and that took a season to fix. Our situation will take time too.

3.) 28 Jul 2018 09:54:23
Agree Ace, we’re not going to be world beaters overnight. Will take at least this and the next 2 windows before we can judge Silva/ Brands fairly. We need to get behind them fully and allow some space for mistakes whilst the squad get to grips with the new formation and style of play.

4.) 28 Jul 2018 10:58:41
Just need a new engine, four tyres and a driver. 😂😂.

5.) 28 Jul 2018 11:18:47
This is the sort of rubbish that gets right on my wick. Utter garbage.

6.) 28 Jul 2018 11:40:29
Are yon not impressed with their car analogy myteamsbetter?

7.) 28 Jul 2018 12:23:13
Ok take the binlid off and see what sort of garbage is under there. is that any better for you Myteam?

8.) 28 Jul 2018 12:43:59
This Everton job is far to big for Silva and Brandts could be way out f his depth this is not Holland.
I feel sorry for all the true blue fans who believe that silva is the right man.
I so hope to be wrong so if I am, sling your abuse at me guys and girls at the end of the season.

9.) 28 Jul 2018 12:53:57
I haven't seen any everton team over the last few years try and play football in the style of Marco Silva, so he isn't going to know who can adjust or not to the style. He needs these preseason games to show him who can and who can't.
No point going out and blowing a load on a player who can't dislodge someone who is already here and surprised him by suiting his system.

11 May 2018 12:37:48
Quote from fathead earlier " How as a manager can you guarantee anyone to play? If they don't play well you can't select them and if they do play well they stay in the team. That's the simple fact of the matter. It is up to them to put their game together on a consistent basis. "
Well how come that has not applied to Martina, Morgan, or Williams earlier in the season . The man is full of sh** . Sooner he is gone the better .

mcginley1975

1.) 11 May 2018 13:50:43
I'll tell you why mcginley because he opens his mouth before he's engaged his brain.

2.) 11 May 2018 15:16:02
I think that he means if there is an alternative player in better form. Unfortunately in the case of Martina, Morgan and Williams, the alternative players were either injured, not playing well themselves or suspended. There could be an argument that Morgan should have been dropped many times. I would have done so. But it appears the guy is back in form now. In Williams' case, he just seems to have lost the plot. but so had Keane earlier in the season and although Jags is now back in. does my memory servr well that he was injured for a while? As for Martina, he was a quite terrible signing by Koeman. When we lost Baines and Coleman, we struggled with getting 2 decent fullbacks on the pitch. I would hardly blame Allardyce for that. don't get me wrong, I believe that he should go now. but to blame hime for everything from the black death to scurvey, is just daft. His football has been dire, but we were 3rd from bottom when he arrived. We needed guaranteed safety. He helped get it. Thanks. Now let's move on.

3.) 11 May 2018 18:20:35
I think he has brainwashed you Degsy as you like him don't seem to remember the 4-0 win over West ham, the one that put us 13th. That was actually Unsworths last game in charge. It is embarrassing for Unsworth for him to not even acknowledge that. Unsworth came in and helped when we needed him and anyone who doesn't acknowledge that result as his needs to have a long hard think about their allegiances.

I haven't seen him taking credit for the spanking we got at Southampton funnily enough.

As for our fullbacks his presser today? He has said he needs 3 quality signings, a CB, Goalscorer and a midfielder so don't plan on a replacement/ cover for Bainesey just yet, he might make do with Martina.

As for Morgan i'm not sure what form Vlasic or Klassen were in as they never got a game under him, he was too hell bent on playing 2 or 3 defensive mids regardless of whether they were in form or not.
It's no coincidence Morgan is playing well, he probably wants out like Rooney does.

And to finish, Sam had 50 million at his disposal in January, if the squad is as bad as he makes out, why didn't he bring in 5 or 6 players and get rid of the ones he thinks can't cut it.

4.) 11 May 2018 18:52:10
Hey calm down Smit666. Read my post again slowly and take deep breaths. All I am saying is the hatred towards the guy runs so deep now that I agree he has to go. but let's get things into perspective. Yes blame him for poor decision making. Yes blame him for saying stupid things. And yes blame him for accepting "bungs". But all I was saying is that when he says,
"How as a manager can you guarantee anyone to play? If they don't play well you can't select them and if they do play well they stay in the team. ". then I agree with his comment on this occasion. and tried to explain that sometimes things are not so straight forward. You had asked why that statement did not apply to the 3 players you mentioned. and I tried to explain that Baines, Coleman and I also think Jags were injured. which maybe why Williams and Martina were playing. Not because Allardyce thinks they are/ were better players. As for Shneids. I already said most of us would have dropped him. But maybe he was good in training? Maybe Allardyce was wrong? Maybe a lot of things. but I don't think Allardyce was saying anything that does not apply to football. ie if a player is playing well and there is no other player playing better in that position. then you pick him. I can assure you I have not been "brainwashed". but I can also assure you that my hatred of Sam Allardyce is not as deep as some fans. Like I said. was he responsible for all of the things that are wrong within our club? According to many people you would think so!

5.) 11 May 2018 18:55:07
While I hate to say it, would getting spanked in our last match help Sam on his way?

6.) 11 May 2018 19:29:46
I do actually agree with what he said. No one should be guaranteed playing time. What annoys me is his refusal to admit we were 13th not 17th when he took charge. And anyone else who takes that win away from a guy who is everton through and through will be put straight.
Which was the point I was making.

7.) 11 May 2018 20:16:04
Well that point I agree with 100% Smit666 mate. I have to say who knows what would have happened if Unsworth had been given the job or indeed Koeman not sacked? Whilst we all would pick different teams and formations, I honestly believe the reason our season started off so badly was purely because of a couple of terrible transfer windows. To allow your top 2 scorers to leave and not replace them adequately is criminal. To know that your best 3 defenders have been with the club for over 10 years and are nearing the end. yet have no suitable immediate replacements is criminal. I know people say Kenny and Holgate are ones for the future. I know we spent near on £30mill on Williams and another £30mill on Keane. but Williams is also too old and Keane is so far not the player we expected. So in my view, Unsworth, Koeman or Allardyce would have struggled early this season and any of them would have improved as the season went on. All I can add is that Walcott and Tosun (or similar) should have been signed BEFORE we allowed Lukaku to leave and Barkley to run his contract down. That is poor management from before Allardyce. But I don't want him to stay. because I agree the football is dire and most fans are only behind him when they have got pitchforks in their hands!

8.) 11 May 2018 21:26:21
Agree Degsy. The question is, was it Koeman or Walsh or both or the owners that made those glaring errors. Will we ever know.
Who would be your preferred choice for manager?

9.) 11 May 2018 22:48:39
Well until Allardyce has actually gone, I will suffer him. thereafter I would actually give Arteta a go. Yes he is unproven. But he is very educated and speaks about 6 languages I understand. A trained legal buff I believe. So no fool. And of course has worked with Pep who wants "total" football. But whoever we get I just hope it is someone who can bring the fans together. I have never known such a split in our support. I have also never known such an imbalanced, poor squad. We need many new players and our ageing players are our best players so I see a difficult next 2 seasons.

10.) 12 May 2018 10:29:16
Degsy you’re exactly right.

Smit666 is like a broken record. He repeats the same stuff over and over again. He recycles this verbal diarrhea on a weekly basis.

11.) 12 May 2018 11:30:29
I love your personal posts to me JDEJones. I think that's 3 now.
You my friend must be a sensation on Twitter. 🤣
A legend on your own keyboard.

12.) 12 May 2018 12:10:10
Now now boys. actually, if anyone does repeat themselves. it is me. come on let's get Leon Osman back on the topical discussions. no? ok maybe not!

13.) 12 May 2018 12:38:49
If you go back through JDEJones replies/ comments to me Degsy, you will see he has an axe to grind. Lots of posters repeat on here because the subject matter has been the same for the last 6 months. I don't see any replies/ comments to any of them.

JDEJones rather than simply disagreeing or not commenting to me makes his replies personal and has done on the last 2 or 3 posts. Rather than being topical he prefers to troll.

Has anybody else just seen the official video of us welcoming Cenk Tosun?

Yes look forward to seeing him in the shirt.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 22:01:19
Need another 10 strikers.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 22:26:43
Confidence and form win games. We need a left back and a creative midfielder. Its not hard to see.

I think there is a lot of media people out there with a hidden agenda against Everton Football Club to be honest . The so called media darlings will always carry the headlines, and let them have it . i'm sure Roberto has no plans to let one of our best young talent in McCarthy leave . He is trying to build a team to compete with the best so why would he be prepared to let him go . Hopefully our results this season will make everyone sit up and take notice instead of us constantly being overlooked which too be honest isn't a bad thing .

Yeah I totally agree with you about this being a transition period . Its a credit the managers, backroom staff and players though that we are up were we are, especially with the small amount of money we have to work with compared to a lot ofbthe other teams in the PL.

I tend to agree . The lad is good but far from the finished article and if we signed him I think he would be off if we had a poor season .
