{Ed025's Note - none mate..

1.) 17 Aug 2015 15:36:16
I will be very surprised if Chelsea bid until after we have played Man City on Sunday, certain Jose would want Stones to face City, my moneys on a bid coming in Next Monday onwards.

Yeah but then my mates PS4 went off, it didn't save and he has to restart his career mode all over again. Shame.

30 mill tell them to go to hell they ripped us off with Lukaku so we should want 60 mill to get our money back

Hi a question for any of the Eds who can help please.
I noticed on a few of the other pages you have provided lists of transfer targets for the summer windoe. I wonder if there was any chance you could do the same for Everton please?
Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - Ed002 usually does these, she says if you could remind him next week as her travels are keeping him a bit busy to do one right now.}

1.) 25 Mar 2015 14:49:22
Is ed 002 transgender

{Ed001's Note - let's just say she does a good impression of one, and her wives are very confused.....}

10 Mar 2015 00:51:04
oh sorry.

Luke Garbutt going to Liverpool?

thanks

preki scored

{Ed001's Note - Garbutt is still thinking over his options, he knows Liverpool have been keen on him for years, he knows they would offer him a contract if he doesn't sign a new one at Everton. So it is very possible he ends up there. Spurs are the ones to worry about, they are very keen on him and desperate for a left back as the pair they have are simply not good enough. So he would get a pay rise and almost guaranteed regular starts.}

1.) 10 Mar 2015 11:51:42
Thanks very much for your info. much appreciated.

Just a question for any of the eds who could help please?
I've had a quite well informed source over the last few years who I seen sporadically via work. He left the company in Jan. I have no details etc and last time we spoke he was telling me a few players would leave us this summer. I just wanted to know if anyone has any info on the following please.
James Mccarthy will leave but his destination will depend on which club signs schneiderlin as he is seen as 2nd choice for interested clubs.

Man City offering money and players for Barkley

Bayern Munich have been scouting Coleman and Stones

That was my last conversation with him and i've heard nothing since.

Thanks for your time & response (i hope)

preki scored

{Ed001's Note - for starters Everton don't NEED to sell anyone to make ends meet now. Players that will leave are those not wanted or want to go, such as Mirallas.

McCarthy is of mild interest to a couple of clubs, it really depends on other movement as to what happens with him. Right now, I expect him to stay, but the summer is a long way off.

City were interested in Barkley last summer, they still maintain an interest, but no deal has been done as they are likely to be changing the manager it is impossible to say if they will make a fresh attempt to sign him. There is other interest in him though, Man Utd and Chelsea would both take him if a deal could be done.

As far as I am aware, there is little interest in Coleman at the price Everton are asking, though Man Utd would love to sign him. I know of no interest by Bayern in any Everton players sorry.

Stones is unlikely to move, the club want to hold onto him and he has yet to make any kind of waves about leaving. Everton are actually looking to add a centre back to replace Distin rather than letting any go.}

Sorry to start a new thread, phone wouldn let me reply! With regards to my post about Stones, swan I agree with everything you say! I think the best thing firhin would be to stay another year an go star in the euros! That would make sense for his career imo too!
I hope I am very wrong but I now have angrily accepted he will leave this window! i'm worried that we can only spend money if/when he goes. But I've been tokd everton and chelsea expect a deal to be done this month!! I will happily accept abuse if i'm wrong

Dont shoot the messenger!!PLEASE!! Hearing from the same person who told me in June(check the posts) that chelsea were bidding/about to bid 30M for stones. That he has told the club his wish is to play for chelsea! He won't hand in a transfer request, yet but he wants to leave asap!
Sorry all just what I've been told.

preki scored

1.) 12 Aug 2015 00:20:26
I can't see how he can leave then it's about time managers remind these young players they are under contract and in Stones's case he prob won't get regular first team football. We hold all the cards here and if we ask 100 million for him that's what chelski pay until then he's an Efc player and should play his arse off. Just saying.

2.) 12 Aug 2015 01:32:11
Where did I leave my gun? Nah, I believe he told you thay but I don't believe it's true. The simple thing being he said he wants to stay after being aware of Chelsea's interest. He's a smart kid, I don't think him joining Chelsea makes any sense. Here is why. The Euro's are coming up and he needs game time, Chelsea cannot give him that. His value will only increase so cashing in now would be silly. Mournho will not allow him to play his natural game. As he grows more attractive offers than Chelsea (City or even Barcelona) will be available to him. His mates are here, not a big thing and is barely relevant but is one a small level. I assume Abramovic will not be happy with players (not sure if it is true, probably not but just guesswork by me) like Christensen and Ake being held back because Mourinho doesn't like developing players and is going to splash out and hope for the best. The last one is probably far fetched and is just a thought of mine, take it however you want. What will irritate me beyond belief is not only if we sell him (though that would actually end any positive feelings towards Martinez and the board (including everyone) from me). What will drive me even crazier is if we sell and loan him back, why? Because it's like one final kick in the nuts from both clubs, 'here's what you're missing out on folks, hahaha take that!'. Selling Stones now would be the biggest mistake this club has made since signing Aiden McGeady.

3.) 12 Aug 2015 02:19:17
If they above is true it changes everything, effectively we have the Stirling situstion, thus, no more mister nice guy from the club please. We have taken a chance on this young man, givern him a "big" long contract, and a platform to build an international place, had he floped he would still have a five year contract on 30000 per week. So, now he goes to the first club to meet our valuation, if that does not happen, he stays and does what he is well paid to do, play football.

4.) 12 Aug 2015 07:12:55
I agree 100% with that Swan. For me, although I wouldn't blame him or have any ill feeling towards Stones if he left (providing he doesn't kick off and force a move), if he doesn't want to play for us, I don't want him to play for us, no matter how much we may need him back on loan.

5.) 12 Aug 2015 07:42:38
Just can't see him going to Chelsea myself. He is not soft and neither are his representatives. They will know that there are 2 big clubs here in the north west that have cash to burn and will no doubt be interested. Don't take this as me selling him because I, like all others don't want him to leave but believe he inevitably will. Just my opinion on the matter.

6.) 12 Aug 2015 11:44:47
Keep hearing from so called people in the know, that Stones wants to go to Chelsea. If that true, then put in a transfer request and give up the percentage of the fee. N request no transfer simple as.

29 Jul 2015 23:17:12
Im sat here so frustrated at our club at the minute, & i'm trying to figure out how much trouble we are in.
The question i'd like to ask (i probably know the answer) whos choice/decision/fault is our transfer inactivity? The manager in January said a GK was a priority now he says its not, he says kone is the answer if lukaku is injured, Now, does he reallly believe this or is he dealing with what he has? Anyone with any sense knew we needed 5-7 players in the door. So is the manager even more deluded than some think or is he being let down by a board that has no clue how to run a club that can compete with mid table teams fiancially? (my guess if i'm honest) Now, there must be some money available as we have tried to sign players. In May Martinez was very open about having identified his targets, He has the cheapest two so far+both good deals in my opinion, but tbh we are in
desperate need of at least 1 cb, lw, acm, fwd, and a gk! So we have strenghtened the only department we weren't in desperate need of, that doesn't make any sense, until you see the price of the deals. So what next Do we sell somebody(bodies if you are the press) do we sign a few bench warmers and not improve our team for the 2nd season in a row and get the well we kept the group together crap or do we surprise everyone and buy 2-3 players who improve us! The next four weeks are going to be very interesting blues, big games manager & board under scrutiny, potential departures/unrest! i'm worried this will be worse than deadline day 2011. Hope i'm wrong

preki scored

1.) 30 Jul 2015 09:16:52
We really need to be signing first team players that are going to strengthen our team, I think Van Dijk is a good player not as back up but to challenge Jags and Stones for a start, we also need another GK as a long term replacement for Howard. I would have Austin as a striker I think he can push Lukaku all the way for a start or could be an option alongside him. We need more creativity in CM and a left sided midfielder who can provide the service for the strikers. We don't need journeymen to fill the ranks if indeed we have the ambition to push on!

09 Jun 2015 22:18:08
Right as this is something that is bubbling under with a lot of blues right now i'd like to know if any of the kenwright/board supporters can give me any facts or actual reasons why Bill is a good chairman?? Facts not opinions. Facts as to why I think the board are rubbish are:- No trophy in the boards tenure. No investment in the boards tenure. Lots of failed investment N.T.L, Fortress Sports (that didn't even exsist) Poor sponsership deal, The worst kit deal in the history of any sport. 3Million a year for ten years, so no point buyin a kit because we don't get the money, No plan to move the club forward in any direction, i'd still like confirmation about Arteta leaving & now what looks like a 3rd FAILED stadium attempt.

That not enough for anyone??!

Im getting beyond depressed now.

1.) 09 Jun 2015 23:14:17
It can only be about opinions I think Preki, in any given club there will be players, managers or board members that people like while others dislike. For me, and I've said it on here many times, the entire board should take collective blame. The fact to back this up is that the majority on our board have cash to burn, more so than BK, but don't want to put their hands in their pockets. It isn't enough to call just for one mans head, they should all go together. I understand that people feel we have stagnated but we were left behind when the premiership was formed and that was down to the previous regime. The last trophy we won was under PJ's stewardship but his tenure was hardly a success was it? That man did take us to the brink of self imploding. Even if someone came in tomorrow and they had a few billion to waste, we would still be hamstrung due to FFP. This board has got the debt down but they are not wanting to make that final push whenever we get close to the top four. What do you want to know about Arteta leaving mate?

2.) 09 Jun 2015 23:23:19
I'm not going to slate BK. But your points are hard to ignore. When he took on the role of chairman he referred to himself as a custodian giving us the impression he would step aside when a more suitable candidate came along.

It does look like that was all a bit theatrical and that he'd rather continue than step aside.

3.) 10 Jun 2015 02:00:56
Spud, I would like the whole board out mate. We as a club have fallen very far behind commercially, this is due to the board, if we didn have the sky money we'd be finished due to failings of our board. Elstone said the other day everything with the walton hall park project is going well, we just have no money! Well, big problem then Bob!! This is the latest in a long line.
With regards to Arteta i'd forgotten but was with people who brought it up the other day. Leaked emails sayin a big player had to leave to satisfy the banks, moyes saying it, then elstone denied it. Echo had to retract statements it was in national papers and at the time was ridiculous for a club like ours. Pretty much this third failed ground debacle has done it for me & il organise the march!!

4.) 10 Jun 2015 09:38:33
1. When he took over our club was almost bankrupt.

2. We had a team that you couldn't get a penny for.

3. Investment was and is being made in the team and always has done.

4. The chairman hasn't taken a penny out of the club since being chairman.

5. The club has one of the best images in football not only on how a club should be run but it's work with the community. That comes not from me but other chairman and Ceo's from around the EPL.

6. We didn't have the finance for the Kings Dock. We didn't get Government support for Kirby. They are trying now for Walton Hall Park so they are trying to move the club forward.

7. Our team now is unrecognisable from what we had when he took over and the value of that team is easily higher than anyone outside the top 7 in the EPL.

8. We have consistently been challenging for a European place up until last season for a number of years.

9. The club debt is now at it's lowest since before he took over. The club was £36 mil in debt when he bought it.

Last season was bad and we wait to see what it's going to be like next season. Other clubs outside the top 6 haven't spent as much as us and don't. They don't buy players for £28 mil or £15 mil and if they do it's only because they've sold half of the team to do it or put themselves in masses of debt.

We just need to adjust our thinking of winning the league and instead focus on what we can achieve which is similar to Spurs and Liverpool and that's trying to break into the top 4.

For the negative people just for a minute start to look for the positives. I feel the same about our situation but you can't spend your time dwelling on what we haven't got. For me I'm going to start looking at shoots of recovery and stop being a miserable-erm-Person.

5.) 10 Jun 2015 11:19:38
Fair points John. And I get them. I just feel its time for change. i'm not demandin BK sell, there appears to be no buyer. What I do want is the people who have commercially failed the club for years to be replaced, if BK can't sell or doesn want to sell it is his duty to have the best people on the board. What has robert earl done for Everton besides get Justin Bieber some kits to play on his island? Elstone basically runs the club, he's failed, he is a yes man, look at the ceo's before him who walked and ask why they walked. Remember Trevor Birch? What other business would have 3 failed ground attempts have no business plan & continue to keep the same people at the top? This is a massive frustration now. Our only form of income is sky and matchday revenue( which we can't maximise due to stadium) everything else is used due to poor commercial deals. The blame for this goes to the board and BK for his poor or lack of decisions. Plus he apparently cried when we sold Rooney. I don't want that sort of weakness running our club.

6.) 10 Jun 2015 13:11:48
''For me I'm going to start looking at shoots of recovery and stop being a miserable-erm-Person.''

Good luck with that one John.

Anyway moving on, BK appointed the ''majestic'' DM and whatever we say or think about ''the chosen one'' he gave us a surprising degree of stability and this stability allowed BK to consolidate his own position

However here we are stuck with RM a questionable manager at the best of times, who let's face it doesn't inspire confidence for future stability, which is something that BK is imho is poorly equipped to deal with and hasn't in the past under his tenure been threatened with this kind of uncertainty!

Reality check needed here before the rot sets in as it did with Whelan's Wigan!

We do need to be more ambitious with our status in the football world though, because to roll over (and I'm not accusing any Blue of this) and be a timid footstool feeder club and stepping stone for all eternity is not what Everton football club should be!

7.) 10 Jun 2015 15:35:30
Fair points Preki. With regards to Arteta, the way I remember it is that he had the choice to stay or go because he wanted to play champions league football. He turned the gunners down at teatime on deadline day, only to ask for more talks at the eleventh hour. While he had previously held us to ransom for (a reported) 75k per week, he actually took a pay cut to join them. We had no time to bring in a player of quality to replace him. For this reason, I don't understand why fans still clap him, especially with the way some treat our current players! I could be wrong on the ins and outs of it, but that is how I remember it, others may tell me different.
With BK, I just wish the fans would stop using just his name, we both agree that it is the board at fault so, if people want to drum up a campaign then use the collective, not the individual. If BK stood down as chairman and the board stayed then we will still have the same problems as we do now

8.) 10 Jun 2015 20:31:40
To sum it up in real terms of today's PL if we can consistently finish 5,6 or 7th that's a result!

9.) 10 Jun 2015 22:24:08
I think in the main spud people use BKs name because he's the top of the tree, but you're right it is a collective thing & collectively the board have failed! I do blame them all & realise BK will be the last to go. I have no problem with him remaining as long as he has the balls to make big decisions. If I seen any sign of this I would support him. I just don't feel he will & judging by Roberto saying we don't have 28M to spend & the quality of players we are linked with this will get worse throughout the summer. As fans we feel this is a big summer, i'm already disappointed we're not getting a new gk. So if the expected (lack of) spending happens there is going to be bigger questions aimed at the board come September

10.) 10 Jun 2015 23:18:44
He is the figurehead and is there to be shot at but it angers me the others hide behind him. I'm not sure on the money front to be honest, I'm hoping they are holding back on cash as they assess how RM gets us playing in the first 10 or 12 games. If we get off to a flyer they might give him his cash in January. If we carry on faltering then I'm hopeful they will be quick to get rid and protect the premiership money they receive each season. The stakes have never been higher with the record tv deal making it imperative that we stay in the league. I'm not suggesting we will definitely relegation candidates, but if we do suffer a bad start, such greedy men will surely get itchy trigger fingers?

11.) 11 Jun 2015 09:00:13
How much does RM have to spend? Want me to tell you? OK, well I don't know. Spud? Preki? Wakka?

None of us know. The season is only just over. We usually spend a fair whack in comparison to teams around us and we will do again. we can't be going on about this already when we still have 2 and half months remaining of the window and haven't really started looking yet!

12.) 11 Jun 2015 15:07:33
You're right BlueJ, nobody knows except those who need to know. My point was exactly that, with the hope they don't throw the entire budget at him for it to be wasted and in case we get off to a bad start. But I do think they should be looking at potential targets already, they can't afford to have a day off in that respect. There may be 19 days left until the window opens but we can still agree a fee with clubs and terms with players, they just won't arrive until the first of next month

06 Jun 2015 14:37:14
In the wake of the Cleverley signed ( I am reserving judgement as he isn as bad as we all think, he's not that good either, & is similar to most of our midfielders in that he doesn seem to find a killer ball an assist or many goals) I thought i'd throw a list of signings we didn want who turned out ok & vice versa
S**t list
Nic Alexandersson - delighted when we signed him. Was awful lightweight no end product, useless!
John Collins - Outshone by Olly Dacourt & Don Hutchison, never moved the ball quick enough and played his better games when he was leavin or as emergency right back.
Simon Davies - Enough said.
Alex Nyarko - compared to Vieria, how?
Stephen Hughes- a few goals against watford one a ehoppin free kick that got us back in a cup tie, one in an easy home win, waste of money that was given away halfway into a 3yr deal.
Richard Wright- remember one great save at home to blackburn, nothin else! Fell out the loft then hurt hinself on a sign that stated he couldn train where he was training.
John Heitinga - maybe a shock to some peopl, but he had one good season the rest was a lot of mistakes and gifted goals to opposition, although if we had a 25 year old him now he'd fit right in.

Surprising
Darron Gibson - Better player than we all thought, just never fit.
James McCarthy- so many people thought we wasted money, they were wrong.
Landon Donovan- again, much better quality than most thought, we were all desperate to keep him
Aaron Lennon- Same as the others.

Theres a few as I need to run, but the point is now we have cleverley we should get behind him & not give him grief straight away, just be worried he isn replacing
somebody

Very valid points degsy, they seem to bring up the problems most are worried about. Do we have the resources to replace these players? Or is Martinez going on about these youngsters because he knows sooner or later they will have to play them? Do we trust Roberto to replace the players? I dont, his wigan team got worse every year & his everton team seem to be going that way! Interesting & worrying few weeks ahead

Im going to be honest i'd rather he went than some of the spine of the team. Think he makes mistakes defensively, only problem in my eyes is i'd have had trippier as his replacement. Anythin over 20M i'd sell. Great business sense over 300% profit is ridiculous & as much as we hate it we are a selling club at present

Explain then, summer 09 everton spend no money, lescostt leaves- we spend. Summer 08, andy johnson james mcfadden (jan08) leave, we buy fellaini, not moutinho and mbia who moyes wanted but couldn afford. 2010 we sell nobody. we get mucha an beckford.ik ignore 2011 as that doesn help your arguement. 2012 rodwell leaves for 12m Mirallas comes for jus over 6.
So obviously the club have no money they don't spend, only after extra income.
