ed02

I have tried to search for it but with no success, a while ago I seem to remember you writing that the club made a mistake in appointing Koeman in the first instance?

Firstly, apologies if I have got that completely wrong and two, if I haven't could you tell me why you think the club made a mistake?

{Ed002's Note - It is never a good idea to look to a manager who has far higher aspirations and is looking at using the club as a stepping stone to a job at Arsenal. Manchester United or Barcelona - wherever. It is particularly true if it is a manager who is stubborn, which Koeman is, or a manager who has walked out on clubs when the situation becomes difficult or does not suit him - again something Koeman has done over and over. Since before leaving Ajax 12 or 13 years ago his career has been embroiled in conflict and questionable decisions. Everton should have taken better advice at the time he was appointed - and the correct advise and timing could have opened up several very good options as I suggested then.

Stability is now important and this is not the time to be changing manager unless someone could persuade the likes of Chis Coleman to step in.}

Thanks for the reply ed, really appreciate it and makes for an interesting read.

duncan ferguson and david unsworth and fast get the players heads straight, play them in right positions, reassure lookman an other youngsters whose confidence koeman has destroyed, an get some passion back in the changing rooms, watford played decent formation with right balance and players in starting 11 and they beat arsenal, palce turned chelsea over with there width and pace, if koeman carries on with this we are in a relegation scrap it is awful, arsenal will play us off the park. koeman out now.

Southern as usual Ed02 is spot on. Also appears to have A. got rid of the caustic wit/ impatience or B. Some of us have become grown up ;-)

djrblue. A commonsense comment and one I for one agree with.

5.) 16 Oct 2017 13:40:17
Ed 02.Coleman. what a good shout imo. never even thought of him tbh.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think ED002 was being serious about coleman jcl..

6.) 16 Oct 2017 23:20:50
ed 025 you have no idea what you are talking about. chris coleman?

{Ed025's Note - you may be getting mixed up there nev, ED002 made a flippant remark about coleman being available to which i replied he was not being serious mate, coleman is awful imo and will not be considered for any top team, please read the posts properly before replying..

I'm not sure what to make of the season so far, as an outsider looking in it seems obvious that the team selection is not right. What's glaringly obvious, at least from the press conferences and when the camera pans in on him is that Koeman seems convinced he isn't the problem.

As a teacher, if something doesn't work anymore in class I change it for next time so that the students progress next time round. I'm amazed he doesn't seem willing to change things. Rooney being a a point in case, it's clear he has the passion but his style of play now just slows us down. Whatever the tactics are they seem to stifle the players ability and confidence going forward.

If we have to play all these number 10's so be it but the manager has to find a way to make it work, to me that starts with playing at least one player who is going to make the runs that encourage forward passes.

No Signings since Sunday, Where's the Arteta money!?

I know we don't have any interest him but I would like to see the club take a punt on Tammy Abraham. Some are saying we need a big name but as stated before Lukaku wasn't a big name before we developed him into one.

Just a thought!

Can't believe how much the club has changed in such a short space of time both in terms of recruitment and the infrastructure of the club as whole. Credit of course to Moshiri but a round of applause for Kenwright too, patience has most certainly paid off.

{Ed002's Note - Abraham has already moved.}

My thoughts for what it's worth.

- Amazed with comments like "statement" and "marquee" signing. I'd much rather a 10 million pound player that ends up being a a marquee player all day long personally. Also, I'm not sure why we would need to make a statement signing, teams won't care one bit.

- I am dissapointed that Lukaku is leaving, the prospect of him with our new signings had bundles of potential to be really very good. However, his attitude clearly stinks and it's the right move for everyone now for him to move on.

- Has anyone else been loving this attention we are getting from opposition fans and media alike? Some of the comments I have read on social media from other teams fans I think at least confirms that people are potentially nervous about us this year, more so than the last few years anyway. I haven't looked forward to a new season as much as I have this one for a while now, any signings I get excited about, especially now as out recruitment seems to be in the right place to get players in who buy into the ethos of the club and who will improve it significantly.

I too heard that today, hopefully this comes to fruition. If it were too, and investment comes in I would like to think that Kenwright would remain as chairman.

southernblue

{Ed025's Note - i would like that too SB, he has done so much for the club, even though in some quarters, he is not appreciated..

Jesus just because we haven't signed anybody yet doesn't mean we won't. And why does everything come down to the board, we have a manager you know, one that I have been impressed with so far, who knows how to deal with transfers well and will not necessarily rush into signing players for the sake of it. Martinez clearly wants to improve Everton and deep down all you haters know that the majority of the board do too. Start moaning on the 30th August if we have yet to sign someone one. Until then enjoy the fact we now have a manager who smiles. {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

Almost like Arsenal did with Wenger 22 years ago then? A relative unknown going up against established managers. He'snot even been appointed yet, whoever it is give them a chance, we have to be realistic about where we are as a club, especially after this season.

Couldn't agree more, I'm happy with the signings we have made, they may not have been the so called big names the papers have linked us to but they have all made a superb start in my eyes and therefore they are more than good enough for me so far.

I haven't been this excited for a long time, I hate my place of work to the point of despair and my personal life has been anything but lovely for the last 18 months however, for the first time in a while Everton have actually cheered my mood, I saw Goodison for the first time since I was 17 (I'm 31) on Saturday and I'd forgotten how the atmosphere can instantly put THAT smile on your face.

We've got a good season in store, I can feel it.
