Just a thought as there has been a lot of talk about whether DCL can lead the line next season etc. Personally, I love the lad. He is a proper CF who loves a battle and puts the sh*ts up defenders with his aggression, aerial prowess and speed. His style of play is exactly what Everton fans have come to expect from their CF's down the years, lots of energy and 110% commitment. He allows other players around him the freedom to express themselves and his performances as of late have been very selfless. Having said that, he is our striker and at some point he needs to start banging the goals in himself.

I don't think there's any doubts he'll be our starting striker for the remainder of the season so let's see how the lad progresses. Even if DCL does continue with his development, I think we HAVE to sign a quality striker in the summer. A name i'm going to throw in the hat is Wissam Ben Yedder. I know he doesn't fit the age criteria laid out by Brands but Silva has came out today and said that for certain targets, this number is flexible. He's a proven goalscorer both domestically and in european competitions. From what i've seen he has all the minerals to succeed in the Prem and could be a much safer option than other names we have been linked with. Thoughts?

Any player who has not played in the premier league is a risk, some will flourish others won’t. Until you actually sign a player and they face the challenges of the premier league you don’t know. Our last striker bought from Spain prime example of not flourishing even though came highly regarded.
Personally I’d like to see us sign the guy Che Evans we’ve been linked with, scoring well in a challenging league, young with room for development and knows what it’s like to play on a cold wet night in winter, something a lot of the foreign imports don’t.

That's very true Gingerdan but Ben Yedder is tried and tested against some Premier League teams. Out of the 4 games he's faced English opposition in Europe, he's scored 5 times. Not a bad record ey.
