Bryan will not be going to the world cup, so sad, gutted for him, when leighton baines was injured for 6 weeks every everton fan was biting their nails with fear, what will we do? The best left back in the premier league is out, in stepped bryan oviedo, very few thought he would be able to stand in for bainesy, bryan delivered consistent performances coupled with a die hard love for everton and a never say die attitude, he gave himself a permanent place in every evertonians hearts when he latched on to a loose ball at old trafford and fired everton to their first win away to manchester united for many years, after that night, evertonians found a new hero and the costa rican emraced this by giving his all and continually sharing his love for everton through twitter and interviews, from his 'proud to be a blue' to 'i love everton' quotes, bryan is sure to be given a warm welcome when he returns next season, see you in august mate, we miss you, OVIEDO BABY!

{Ed025's Note - good post that swan, brian was a revelation for us, as you say stepped into leighton,s big boots with aplomb, i really feel for the guy, but feel sure he will fulfill his destiny, and go on to achieve great things..

Yeah really gutted for Bryan, really thought from recent reports he was going to make it. Will be great to see him back with us in the summer. Really good pro who caused no problems as he waited a long time for his chance, and exceeded everyone expectations, he is the type of guy you want at our club a top pro.

Well the prospect of having 4-5 players on the pitch next season who are all goal threats really excites me. I'm only 19 so for aslong as I can remember we have had to rely mainly on are strikers and AMF's for goals, but now we have 2 wingbacks capable of scoring 5-10 goals a season, are wingers should be getting 5-10 goals a season, naisy and Barkley should get 10+, Osman and Pienarr should get 5 or so. Then youve got to add in the new striker and whoever else we sign, but then we also have the unknown quantity of younger players. Next season will be though but I feel we are in a really strong position financially and squad wise to make a real good go for 4th again and who knows we may even do a redsh*te and challenge for top spot

Really looking forward to next season and also playing in the Europa league will be fantastic! . Can't see the negativity surrounding it tbh we have a huge squad of players who are first team material and without it we would struggle to give every1 a good amount of games.

Sorry for going on but I havnt felt this optimistic about a season for aslong as I can remember!

Good post mate, the europa league has many problems such as crap money and the teamd aren't exactly top notch but we see more players, have more games to watch and the travelling of course, something I don't get is when people say 'youre playing on a thursday and then on a sunday' yet in the champions league you are playing wednesday then saturday so yeah, i'm looking forward to next season a lot!

That's a great post lewblue, I am with you on all that, and I for one can not wait till next season to start, I am very optimistic about it as well coyb, etid

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice post LewBlue but I think you are a bit optimistic on your assessments, I can't really see us getting 80-100 goals but still its nice to dream, I have been for 50 years.

Just hope bobby does give the kids a run out in the europa games. Not necessarily stones coleman or ross, more like green, garbutt, mcaleny, browning, long etc. Those kids with some of the subs bench for the starting 11 would be a nice combination and still keep the 1st 11 fresh for the league games

Listened to bobby being interviewed on tsport this morning, he said his plans for next season are already in place. We don't have to sell anyone and its going to be another exciting season for Everton.Telling you if the guy was a used car salesman I would buy a car off him.

Dead right jimmy, he's the complete opposite of Moyes and a breath of fresh air.
He's vibrant, positive, tactically astute and a great ambassador not only for Everton but football in general.
I only hope he's here for the long haul and not using us as a stepping stone in his career because the man seems destined for the top.

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as I love him, I would never pay £5,000 for his brown shoes! Hope BK is as free with the money for players as he is for shoes this summer!

A newspaper is reporting that Liverpool are interested in Michel Vorm for £5m. I reckon we should go after him, if he's that cheap. We'd still get about 5 years from him and he's 100x better than Joel (although I'm certain Abu Hamza would be better than Joel).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - yeah, but you would need 150 balls per game AB.. :)

10 May 2014 14:52:01
Buy a player just because liverpool are interested? Brilliant! he's injury prone for a keeper which is quite bad

Agree0 Disagree0

It's got nothing to do with them going for him, it's because he's a top quality player and very cheap. Howard has been excellent this season, but he's getting on and has never been 100% reliable. I would take Vorm in a second.

Another flavour player, like tim krul, he had a great 2011-12 season, whenever he has played since he's been tosh, I wouldn't take him for 5m, give me keylor navas anyday

Agree0 Disagree0

Krul is playing with Newcastle ahead of him. Vishnu would be made to look 'tosh'. I'd take Navas, too, but his price will probably be substantially bigger.

Marko marin anybody?

No you're alright

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not, capped 16 times by Germany, young, technically gifted, plays the game at pace wide or through the middle, highly rated and potentially available. Would be a good addition to the team.

He is very good on the ball but is lazy, uninterested, injury prone and his range of passing is about as bad as it gets, he also isn't that quick
