How many more times is that cheating b. d going to get away with conning referies into awarding none peneltys, surley it's time for the fa to bring him up on charges of bringing the game into disrepute? He is an expert at running into people and makeing it look like he has been the victime of a foul.

It was'nt just the pen, he also dived for the free kick in the first half. and handled the ball before he went down. ref was woeful. Ah well, justice done in the end. (Wavertree Blue)

If anyone is interested, Royston Drenthe signed for Russian side Alania a few days ago. I checked out their website (using google translate) and in an interview he says that he enjoyed his time with everton under a "great" coach, and we were paying 50% of his wages. He said he had 'confrontations' with Moyes 5 times, and 4 of the times he was in the wrong.

Agree Ste. I've only ever seen him play in pre season. he must be pretty hacked off at not getting a look in especially as Johnny is struggling.

United fan hear. I have been so impressed this season by Everton. Baines has been absolutely fantastic I think he is the best lb in the league. Fellaini has been very good too really dominated a lot of games this season. David moyes has you guys playing some nice football too. I would like to ask you though do you think you will keep Baines in the summer? I would love him at united. So if we offered say 15m and fabio would you accept? Sorry if this seems a bit ignorant by the way. Good luck for the rest of the season and I hope you achieve European football for next season.

Caolán. {Ed025's Note - i cant see him going anywhere mate..but you never know i suppose, good luck to you as well, on your romping of the league..

Caolán.

Fabio got no future at utd currently on loan at bottom of league baines best lb
In prem we also have some good kids coming through in that position utd wil have to try much harder than fabio try
Wellbeck or henandez

Agree0 Disagree0

Il tell you what I mean by bum, his defending is on par with heitingas, every time I've seen the lad play he's looked poor, what you are saying is replace the worlds best left back for pennies, as 15 million for a guy who scores on average more than most strikers about and sets up more than any other defender in world football bar dani alves based on the past 3 years is a joke, so to try and rub salt in the wounds and offer a guy who can't defend and isn't as good as our back up in luke garbutt is just disgusting, you may be the best team in england atm but that doesn't mean you get players on the cheap and pawn off your deadwood in the deals, no other champions league chasing team would take fabio and we wouldn't either, i'd want 25 million straight up or 10 million and hernandez/welbeck/cleverly someone whod improve our squad not sell off a world class player to replace with a bum, your basically saying would you take a tiny amount of money and a step backwards to sell baines?

Just a thought so don't shoot me down. spurs and liverpool are still in the europa league so hopefully it will take abit of fitness out of them. we could use it to our advantage for race for 5th spot. I no liverpool are behind us but if they win tonight I hate to say it but they will want 5th aswel.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I don't think anyone wants fifth place apart from us. We all know what will happen next season if we do get it with the wafer thin squad we have. It's either 4th or nothing, for me {Ed025's Note - fifth would get us european football, and sixth!...the higher finish the better..

We need to start attacking teams. Give ossie a rest and drop felli back into midfield with gibbo and put jela and vic up top. Fortune favours the bold! Personally I think arsenal will take fourth spurs have a tough run in. There next three alone is west ham (derby), arsenal (derby) and the pool.

Fed up with Moysey moaning about lack of depth when he continually bypasses Duffy, Oviedo, Velios and the new lad Stones in favour of Heitinga, Neville and Naysmith. Give them a chance and be brave.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

What's that old chestnut? A bad workman always blames his tools? Well, that's Davey, if he won't utilise the players he has at his disposal then he can't really moan. Why give Hitzlsperger a year's contract if he isn't going to use him? Same applies to Oviedo. Had he signed Fer I have no doubt he would have been used sparingly too.

Not too bad yesterday by all accounts. Conceded goals from a player who's scored in every season since his debut and conceded from the leagues top goal scorer.
We where shown the respect we deserve, by them man marking Fellaini - which ask any man united fan - they NEVER man mark!
We had some chances that could have gone in our favor but this is football and they didn't.
I think they where out to prove a point against their rivals (City) so we where caught on a bad day, (a week before or a week after, we could have had a different scoreline)

My only concern was that we where defending SO HIGH up the pitch, WHY? this left BAGS of room behind for a quality striker like RVP to exploit. Which he did.

Not too concerned with yesterday, more concerned that we're trailing now behind Tottenham and the Arse who we have to play away. 6 Points needed from those games or it's all over.

Comments, more than welcome.

Largly agree Doc, we were jaded and I agree with moyes that we need a bigger squad to cope with the season at top 4 level.

At home we battered United with half of the class up front than they had yesterday.

It's easy to say he should rest players, but the man gets murdered for doing just that against Leeds.

Damned if you do and Damned if you don't.

A better windows in January would have helped as the team at goodison against United looked tired yesterday

Same comment as a lot of other posts on here. The difference between the two sides yesterday was the two strikers. For parts of the game they bossed it. For parts of the game we bossed it. When we had decent spells of possession they reverted to defending with two rows of four. They showed a lot of respect for us. We were not hammered like teams in the early days of Moyes. I think we deserved a goal yesterday and missed Distin badly. Jonny H looks poor at the moment and I don't know why. Not blaming him. but he is out of sorts.

Agree0 Disagree0

And that reply is in response to the OP how?

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's the Manager and coaching staff's responsibility to address issues in players form during training not in PL games although, it was unfortunate to lose Sylvan through illness during the warm-up. Jags carried both Phil and Johnny yesterday and as recent results have shown it is an impossible task and costly.
Both players are short of pace and for international and former international players surprisingly are lacking in positional sense and anticipation, which caused both goals.
Also, Tim Howard went to ground far too early in the one to one with RVP, especially as Van Persie telegraphed his intentions just as he entered the penalty area.
Add to that Big Vic is a 'shrinking violet' in big games and seems to be seeking divine guidance, after making a right mess of a reasonable chance on goal, by blessing himself!
However, in the circumstances I thought we played well in the second part of the first half and had we not conceded the injury time goal could well have got something from the game.

I am as disappointed as the rest of you that we didn't put on a better performance yesterday. I for one never expect to get anything out of this fixture every season. I hate to say it but United are better than us.

Why is it everytime we lose, somebody is always made the scapegoat? I really can not believe people are having a pop at Moyes because we lost.

Are we having a good season? Yes

Can we still finish in the Top 4? Yes

So stop all the doom and gloom. If we win our next 3 games, everyone will be going on about how great a manager Moyes is and how wonderful our team is.

Moyes is complaining about tiredness with the players I know we have a couple out injured at the moment. But when Hibbert and Coleman come back if the rest of the squad remain fit there is enough there to mix it up a bit and let's be honest we have no european games this season either tank God. What is the point in having Histleberger, Oviedo in the squad if were not going to use them there still getting paid full wages and if there in the squad surely Moyes thinks they can do a job. All i'm saying is there is enough there to make changes and give players a breather if he is worried about tiredness with some players mix it up a bit and let these players have a go to be honest we have nothing left to loose now change it a bit and try something new we have to go all guns blazing now if were going to grab 4th spot, personally I think Peanuts looks a little bit tired I would love to see him put Oviedo atleft back and try Baines in front of him I think it could work just mix it up a bit that's all i'm saying try new things you never know it might surprise us Stef the blue

how you can be confident is beyond me. were not playing well like ealier in the season werve been found out other teams now how to play us too many out of form jelovic, heitinga, we missed our chance in the window. to liven things up not going to make up 6 points on spurs and arsenal will come strong.

Agree0 Disagree0

It puts things into perspective when the Arse are having one of their worst seasons ever in the prem era, and we one of the best and they're still above us. And they usually reserve their best form until the final third of the season. It shows the gulf in class, finances, squad depth etc etc. However, if we can take 6 points from the lane and emirates then we have a punchers chance I suppose, but it will be a tough ask. We must win our next 2 games to have any chance, the 2 biggest games of the season now. {Ed025's Note - i dont get the gulf in class bit?...they are one place, and 2 points above us!!!...hardly a massive gulf now, is it?..

That was embarassing yesterday wonder if David shared a bottle of wine with Taggart after the game then tickled his tummy?

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Did anyone else see the same game as I did yesterday? United gave us a lot of respect, nullified or threat down the left and Fellaini and played with 2 banks of 4 when we had the ball and challenged us to break them down, which we couldn't do. Ok, so most of players had a bad game, looked tired, burnt out and didn't seem bothered but we didn't have that cutting edge and Utd did because they've spent near £50m on a pair of strikers alone, we've not spent that on our entire team. Move on, did anyone realistically believe we'd get top 4 at the beginning of the season?

I know everton didn't offer much threat to united and lost fair and square on the day,

what I do find strange is that since 31/08/2003 manchester united have not lost, when mark halsey refs the game. strange or is it just me thinking very odd,

Since that late summer Sunday on the south coast, United have played 21 times with Halsey holding the whistle. Their record in those games reads: Won 18 Drawn 3 Lost 0 Goals for 47 Against 11.

By next weekend we could be 7th. That is a gutting feeling. All our hard work is being unraveled due to the inadequacy to add to the squad in January. Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal all added to make sure they freshened the squad and kicked on for the fight for 4th, I think they did this as they were very much aware of the genuine threat we posed but now with us standing still (again) we will be forgotten pretty quickly and once again my gut feeling is we will finish 7th. Don't bother calling me negative or saying "look at us last year compared to now" or "that's the way it is they have money, we don't" We had at least 9 million if the bid for Leeroy Fer was true! I'm not interested in the past, I'm all for now and we have missed the boat here, we were favorites for 4th in most people's eyes in November/December but we have ruined that by not adding the necessary players to give us that final push from January to May. Absolutely gutted, but being the blue mug I am I will still go the match and scream my head off, knowing that the board who two of them are multi millionairs don't have ambition. We are not Norwich or Wigan (no disrespect), we are Everton settling, for mediocrity is not acceptable.
The only way I will accept this season is if we have a trophy at the end of it. 17 years for a club of our stature is also not acceptable, just like the record of David Moyes at Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea in the league (Played 48, Won 0, Drew 19, Lost 29)

My complaint over David Moyes is that as one of the highest paid managers in the world (Yes the World-I couldn't believe that one ) he is in a very nice 'comfort zone' who ain't going to rock the boat with BK/Board (and who can blame him?) Effectively he has been bought off so the usual transfer cr*p is fed to us mushroom men year on year.

Right I have had a gutful about reading all the crap about Moyes. You muppets who bag Moyes will cry when Everton are trying to get out of relegation instead of European places when he leaves. So we are 6th in the Table. Look at the teams above and below and look at the Money they throw around and we are lucky to have 2 bob and where are we 6th. That is right 6th. Still a chance for Europe still in the FA cup. So all you clowns who call yourselves Everton supporters get behind the team and Moyes. He got his tactics wrong tonight. Granted but we are 6th not 16th. Real supporters stick behind the team no matter what, all the rest of you guys who are unhappy go follow Manchester United because they win titles.

was very disappointed yesterday. especially after moyes saying we were going to give it a go and we had one shot all second half! our squad lacks depth but the main thing we lack is pace! osman is so slow it is unreal. and I like pienaar but again he is to slow and often wants too much time on the ball, time that you certainly won't get vs united. people having a go at neville, other than playing rvp onside, I thought he was one of our better players (although that wasnt; difficult). and when jelavic came on, how deep was he? it is like he know longer wants to be in the box and score because his confidence is so low. he'd rather drop in or work the channels. 6th has to be our aim now unfortnately, especially with the games we still have to play (spurs away, arsenal away, chelsea away, liverpool away). failure to stregthen in jan has cost us dearly. but onwards and upwards let's put a lot of effort into bringing the fa cup home. its been far too long. coyb

What rubbish it is that people are calling for moyes to go, serious if that's your view you don't no a thing about football and need something else for your sad pessimistic lives, who's going to replace him, Harry redknapp would be about the most realistic option and isn't a patch on David, it makes me embarrassed I support the same team sometimes, but that's the difference there are supporters and people who follow the team. I'm shocked and dismayed with the amount of negativity posts calling for Moyes head, dear god, do people not have memories! Reality check, we lost 2-0 to the champions elect today, they are 12 points clear. our tactics didn't work today and Ferguson's did, in fact he was spot on with his tacynics, he nullified our best players, well he' s not one of the most successful managers of all time for nothing! it shows how far we've come that we' 're not happy losing away to United and also how much respect Ferguson has for our team that 3 days before a massive champions league tie he puts out his so called super stars against us!

Yes, the board has let us down, but this is nothing new to us blues, only normally we stick together, it binds us and gives us strength that we achieve and achieve against all odds! so get behind the team, it's only our 4th defeat this season! bring on Oldham, let's show them how the people's club d ok especially it!

Out of all the negative and positive posts on here there are many salient points, clearly the people who post on here no a thing or two about football, not just everton. There's lots of comments about DM should go, and he is tactically unaware and the players are too soft, lazy, the there is the other side of the argument that DM has worked wonders with the money available to him, on paper our first 11 is as good as any on there day, no other manager could again so much with so little. etc. all valid depending upon your perspective but the fact of the matter is that the game over the last 20 years has changed massively since the birth of the EPL. it's a fact that the lure of champions league footy is more attractive in financial terms and kudos. you could argue that the two go hand in hand. Unfortunately the same usual suspects have benefited from CL footy for so long. reaping the rewards. thus making the financial gap larger and larger between the haves and have nots, and unless a wealthy benefactor creates that huge input of wealth (man city, Chelsea, reds to a certain extent) the it is more difficult to compete domestically. never mind Europe. Everton are a victim of this and the longer they go without a reasonable injection of cash the harder it will be to compete. All we can hope for is a shrewd a manager and board as possible. I believe we have one of those assets in DM. If we lose that then I fear we could be competing at the wrong end of the table. Jlaff {Ed025's Note - i agree with most of that jlaff..
