Who ever has posted after the game slaggin us off then you need to kick bk an study football a little moor. Yes we lost by one goal in the last min but come on we played chelski who must of had a team worth at least 250-300 million an we was unlucky not poor. In my veiw the team done well as a whole

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your right we were not poor however what's gripping me is that a 28 million pound striker can't score from three yards, the more I watch the save the more I know he didn't mean it. Sorry but a 28 million pound striker doesn't miss these.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 01:08:45
Passing was awful, gave the ball away far to often. Finishing was poor, and yes we defended well but if we are happy losing only one nil then that's just sad.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 07:05:55
I'm with Woburn on this. We have to be happy that we have, to an extent, shored up the defence and, in the main, stopped leaking silly goals. But there has to be a balance between defending and attacking which we haven't had this season. Getting most players behind the ball is ok if you are going to break with pace and attack but we don't do that too often. Rom was unlucky with that effort regardless of how far out he was. The ball was slightly behind him but he got good contact and it took a quality save to thwart his effort. I haven't changed my mind on RM, he looks lost to me and I can't see him turning this around, I think the board should be worried that this man could potentially lose them a share of future tv rights if he continues doing with us what he did with Wigan

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 23:03:10
getting to the point now where barkley has gone. He wants to take on the world on his own and as soon as he loses it (which seems to be most of the time) his body language says it all. We rate him @£50mil I would sell him for half that.on the bright side Howard played well and always seems too after a spell on the side lines.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2015 01:05:15
Yes let's sell our best young players and keep all the old boys. Jesus the only creative player we ave and you want to get rid? I have and always will love this club, but some of our supporters need a reality check.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 07:41:21
Well this season his contribution as been nothing like what it was last season. yes he is young and I'm not doubting his talent but where has the barkley of last season gone? He doesn't look half the player. A reality check? I live in the canary islands and still go to 10+ games a season a 4000 mile trip to watch us perform. so no one can doubt my love for the team. I just have my view from what I see and you have yours

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 08:36:45
Besic and Stones aside none of them are playing at the level they were last season. So to pick on one of the junior players is poor. Get off the bandwagon and have an original opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 22:10:03
Oh come on ed,
surely you can't blame that freak save from Lukaku to blame for our defeat tonight, the lad gave everything.
At one point he had to take on six Chelski defenders with all the rest of his mates in our penalty area, give the guy some support (on and off the pitch).
Bum, that last 3 minutes just about sums up this year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i thought lukaku was very good tonight mushy, but top CF,s bury them mate..

Yer I know, oh bum

Agree0 Disagree0

Pure reaction from both players!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 22:08:01
I'm not even going to judge harshly tonight I am going to judge us after we've played y boys away them Leicester at home. I think we will have learned what sort of run in we will have after those 2 games

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Same as last season last min John Terry goal cost us a point.
When will we learn

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly don't think we can kick
Ourselves over that performance. We won't play a better team than that this season even if we went all the way in the Europa. If we can find goals against yboys and Leicester I can see us having a good run afterwards

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 21:57:18
. well, we can certainly defend now, that we have proved. but we have a new problem - we can't score or don't seem to know how too. Howard did well, but for me Joel should never of been dropped, Barkley is not a left winger & his body language & performance when substituted tells you everything about Ross at the moment - he's clearly not happy.Naismths quality has completely disappeared & Gareth Barry is like an old man ice skating. for me, Bobbys decisions & decision-making at the moment are shockingly poor. I'm just not sure where we go from here, but if we can maintain this defensive Steele & begin to score again there is just a glimmer that we may edge up the table between 7-9th place by the end of the season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - fair post that zacki...good stuff mate..

Good points Zakki Barry had a great season on loan but at 33 it should have been thank you but see you! Naismith was and is an average journeyman player buoyed by self belief has excelled this season and has been a fans fave but has deferred by type and is back at his true level. Barkley also plays on confidence which has declined due to his irregular selection and being played out of position, RM 's faves are the likes of Barry, Naismith and McGeady which don't match the fans choice's!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im a big naisy fan wakka, but i must admit that lately he has been below par..

.defensively I think we've improved massively on where we were, we just need to tinker a bit with our front 4 & get them gelling together a bit more & playing a lot more quickly & direct into the box & with a lot more penetration & confidence. I say as a realist, let's all get behind the team & try & get them to finish the season as high up in the table as possible - I still think between 7-9th place is possible the way things are going, let's face it, our season was over at christmas. then let's see where the land lies in the summer & maybe Bill will have 1 or 2 important decisions to make, but I think Bobby will be given a little more time yet - probably til about christmas & if no improvement is made by this time I think he'll be gone!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 21:56:41
28 million pound striker 3 yds out and a miss! And before I hear he did everything right because if he did he would of scored.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im with you 100% lancer..

It was a great save, not a bad miss

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - for it to be a great save RTMM, the keeper would have had to know what he was doing...pathetic schoolboy error by rom for me mate..

I don't think he even meant to save it, the ball hit a trailing leg however if asked of course he meant it.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 21:56:37
Well done martinez, good job bringing tim near post save a phobe howard in, what a joke, i'm going to go as far as to say howard is the worst keeper I've seen, he's just been here a bit longer than the others. He can't do anything right, #justiceforJoel #Martinezout #Takeyourstarjumpsbacktoamerica

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - bit harsh there swan for me mate..

11 Feb 2015 22:18:29
How? he's god awful, what's the point in joel being here, he's done nothing wrong and that useless dope goes straight back in and costs us, bring back richard wright.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i thought he had a good game swan, in fact i thought all the team did well mate..

Credit where credits due Howard played very well tonight! Even still Iv got to agree he shouldn't of been playing. Very harsh on Joel

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a lot will echo that i think kingy..well maybe not swan.. :)

Ha have heard it all, worst keeper you have seen. Clearly didn't see much of Richard Wright.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 23:13:54
How? He still messed up, what's the point in 'playing well' only to do absolute crap at the last and cost us. If cech had done that tonight he'd be out the team for a long time, but not our weirdo timmy, he will be given a new contract and be first choice until he wants to retire. i'm sick to death of howard costing us whenever he plays, if oviedo had played brilliantly and then decide to pick the ball up and give away a credit card would anyone defend him? No, but because howard hits himself in the face every time he fails to catch the ball and jags clears it then some fans stick up regardless. If joel had done it he would get told to leave the club and get personal pelters. But this fool just strolls away with it because he 'did well until the 89th minute when he couldn't do the basic things again as he's garbage but still, remember that game against belgium? Yeah he's world class'. he's so bad, can anyone name me a premier league keeper worse than howard? If so please let me know #martinezout #justiceforJoel #takeyourstarjumpsbacktoamerica

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 00:31:45
You watch different games to everyone else swan, absolute stupid comment this. TH had a great game tonight. I wasn't happy that Joel lost his place, although I don't think he is the answer long term, but tim proved the doubters wrong. The goal was a deflection, not many would have got to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 02:51:40
How the hell was he supposed to save a shot he couldn't see? His vision was completely blocked! What could he have done just dived because maybe a shot would have come in? And then if he had done so and the ball went in somewhere else in the goal you would have been crying about that and calling him every name in the book.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 02:59:32
Proved the doubters wrong? In what way? He proved he still can't save shots at his near post. Its just as well lampard left, he's the only one who would of shot from distance and we all know what happens when a shot comes at howard from 25+ yards he moves in slow motion and it goes in. You didn't answer my question, name a goalkeeper WORSE than howard that gets regular gametime, so you can't use some 15 year old goalkeeper for newcastle or someone. People say 'oh he's a good shot stopper', every goalkeepers a good shot stopper, its the basic thing a keeper. Then there's the inablity to catch, the inability to kick, the inability to start attacks, the inablity to save at his near post, starjumping over the ball, not coming for corners, not commanding his area, not saving long range shots, playing hop scotch on his line while a player is about to take a free kick. In fact, it may be easier to list the things howard is good at as a goalkeeper, that's a short conversation that may already be over. #martinezout #justiceforJoel #takeyourstarjumpsbacktoamerica

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 04:43:30
Tmh I didn't understand a word of that, he's a crap keeper, that's all i'm saying and he messes up all the time. #martinezout #justiceforJoel #takeyourstarjumpsbacktoamerica

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan is entitled to his opinion no matter how utterly guff it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 06:54:31
I'm not going to answer any question of yours because, frankly, you talk utter crap and I have no desire to pander to your ego. I've said before you post such drivel just to get a reaction and an argument. Howard had a great game last night, I'm not interested if you believe otherwise. I only read the first few lines of your 2nd to last post as I can guess what you would say, same old disrespectful rambling that normally follows once you get your teeth in to a player you don't like. Yes it is about opinions but you don't have to try and force them down everyone's throats. I know you're young swan, but I seriously fear for the future of our club if the rest of your generation are as bad as you. You need to be more respectful when posting

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan I think if we played barca an turned them over five nil u would still find points to moan about. Sometimes I even wonder if you are even a blue or a red with a mask on

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 11:49:19
toffee, thanks mate, your an inspiration, spud, fair enough, just don't reply, or maye I should take a break again until I calm down? don't know. shakey, now that's a ridiculous theory, i'd rather die than support them, if I don't agree it doesn't make me a kopite, otherwise, EVERYONE must be a fan of a rival team if you're not overly optimistic about our dreadful season, i'm in a good mood today so enjoy your day, matey.
#martinezout #justiceforJoel #mcgeadysfatthighs

Agree0 Disagree0

But u hardly ever optamistic though swan i'm not avin a go kid but just sayin u could sometimes post happy posts instead of doom an gloom posts mate. Of all the posters on here you an real mike are the only ones who has a derogative remark about our clu at the end of every post . I understand its a banter sit e.ie howard played well the other night an yet u still said he was crap me personly even no I no u don't care I have it in my head that u an real mike are reds supporters

Agree0 Disagree0

Brace myself for a battering but apart from saying he is the worse keeper we have had, Wright and Simonson spring to mind, I do actually agree with Swan. TH has no command of his 6 yard box, Girouds header earlier in the season comes to mind straight away, as for not being able to see, he positions the wall so that point is not really defendable. I for one have no confidence in him between the sticks. Other than making a good save now and again he does not do the basics at all hence the panic in our defenders with rash clearances as they know the keeper ain't going to come for them. Sorry but Joel has proved to me that he should be considered the number 1 from now on but once again Brown Shoes selects on name rather than merit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Six or seven good games. Now how many good games has tim had he has kept us in so many games its unreal

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2015 17:21:45
But how many games has he cost us?

b******* The game is to the refs final whistle. God, how many times do we do this in a season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it really should have been an equalizer TT, how did rom miss that!..

11 Feb 2015 21:44:31
A good & brave defensive performance ruined by the ill discipline of our central midfielders. Barry, Besic and McCarthy get far too many cautions for my liking - usually early in a match and that must inhibit their play. With Barry still on the field, I imagine we would have blocked the shot for the winning goal. Now we've over a week to prepare for the Europa League match, so let's look forward to that.
That's all I have to say about tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 21:44:21
I have always looked at Barry as a sensible signing with proven experience. His disciplinary record is not something to be proud of however and tonight he has let himself down and more important his club and teamates. Everton may well have come away with a point and a clean sheet if eleven men had stayed on the pitch. I don't think he can now be regarded as an automatic choice for future games when his ban has ended. His legs have definitely gone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - tell it to bobby keenone mate..

Bobbys not taking notice

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 21:43:48
Had our chances real shame however Besic off as precaution but Barry sent off when she really needed everyone it has been on the cards all season but he obviously has his faves regardless! But rest of the team unlucky!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we played well wakka...but if your £28m CF cant score from 3 yards out you will always fail to win games mate..

Really harsh that ed, it was a great save.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - do you think so HB?....pathetic miss for me mate..maybe you were a keeper in your playing days.. :)

Yes that's correct ed025 and difficult for a team to constantly weather the storm, it's just Barry pushes his luck each and every game today a 0-0 was worth a win in terms of confidence

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree wakka...it was a good performance for me mate..

Ha certainly not a keeper. For me it happened so quick and was instict to get on it but Cech pulled off a worldie. We need to stop moaning, the players played well in the 2nd half and bar Barry nobody should be getting criticised.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree we played well HB, but loo-kacko is not getting away with it that easy mate.. :)

11 Feb 2015 21:31:27
Barry off key time it was only ever when!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 20:21:28
Barry is soooooo slow - Naismith not playing well either - out of his depth

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 21:50:12
Been saying this for a while now Latch, Naisy does give 100% but lacks the ability required for the position he plays. To slow and can't pass. As for Barry no pace so has to foul.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 19:41:14
Any goalkeeping errors or no clean sheet tonight Martinez, then it's time to resign. You need to go on a man management course, after you've resigned of course.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sack the boss because he never kept a clean sheet against champions elect yea that makes sense. We just held them bk for 89 mins an we had the better chances u need to back him at least till end of season

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 18:15:49
Do you expect Bobby to see out his contract ed? We not a club that sack managers. I think we should see what he can do next season he deserves it after his first great season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - things can change very quickly in football alan, but at the moment i would say no mate..

11 Feb 2015 19:25:35
Don't agree Kev should be in, he has such a poor attitude, sooner Lennon and Ross any day.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 19:21:33
Just seen the team news, Howard is in goal and robles has been dropped. Absolute disgrace!! Robles had such a terrible start every man and his dog (along with me) slated him. I feel so sorry for him, Martinez that I'm afraid is you done, for me! Surprise surprise Barry is playing and our great left winger Barkley. Barkley is NOT a winger.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 19:19:20
Well done Martinez you Buffoon> You have more than likely destroyed whatever confidence Robles had built up over the last few weeks, along with the confidence and understanding the back 4 had also built up with him. I notice your other favourite starts as usual. No changes from Moyes in regards to that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

# team Joel

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 19:11:41
Well just when I thought things were improving I see the team. okay I can understand McCarthy on the bench due to not wanting him to overdo it on his return, Joel must feel like the most hard done by footballer in world sport, 3 clean sheets in a row against in form palace and liverpool and west brom but then instantly replaced but 5 bad 1 good game Howard, barkley out wide again where he has been about as effectual as I would be and well no wonder Mirallas wants out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are playin Chelsea can't understand leaving our best players on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 19:02:09
So just seen Robles has been dropped. Nice one Roberto, congratulations you've just kicked Joel square in the teeth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 17:57:16
Team against Chelsea for me

Robles
Coleman stones jags baines
Besic Mccarthy
lennon naismith super kev
Lukaka

Subs kone barkley oviedo when required

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just seen the team for tonight. FFS, i'm lost for words (nearly). No balance, square pegs in round holes again, and to top it all dropping Robles, what justification is that based on? Disgraceful decision. Ed025 you're spot on this manager, the spanish silver tongue charmer is nothing but a fraud. And that stays the same even if we avoid defeat tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i really feel for joel jimmy, the guy has took his chance..then had the rug pulled from under him mate..very sad..

11 Feb 2015 12:05:06
Anybody a fan of promoting from within? Say let's get rid of Bobby no balls and give Rhino a chance, seems to be doing alright with the under 21's and most of all knows what this club is about.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2015 13:49:20
No no no, guys got no experience. Just leave him where he is and let him do his job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely the only way to gain experience is to be given a chance. can't be any worse than the one dimensional man.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with woburnblue. Remember what happened with Alan Irvine when he decided to go it alone

Agree0 Disagree0

Taking into account the current league position, wait till Premiership survival is assured then look to give the younger ones an opportunity. The only snag is that point may be when few matches remain this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 10:23:24
Iv got a horrible feeling that the backsides of Joel and besic will be warming our bench tonight in place of 2 older statesman in Howard and Barry. I might be wrong and I'll hold my hand up if I am but if this happens it could be enough for me 2 completely lose faith in Martinez. Hopefully I am wrong

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He wouldn't. would he?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2015 13:52:27
You might be on to something there Kingy. Maybe that's why he won't drop Barry, because his backside would take up most of the space on the bench, so there would be nowhere for the other subs to sit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Besic will play but I suspect, unfortunately, McCarthy will be rested as a precaution.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Barry 2 seats!

Agree0 Disagree0

Be a disgrace if Robles & Besic get dropped. Sorry folks Bobby has to go!! Besic is the best player we have at the mo, if he drops him it would make you feel like giving up.If we finish in the top 10 and win the europa cup I might forgive him?? Here's hoping, with a point or maybe 3 against Chelsea tonight.
