Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Evening all. Long-time pessimist; slowly converting to optimist.

Like several others, I feel compelled to make a comment on the recent changes at the club.

My fist season ticket was in ‘91 and I lived through the uninspiring Walker and Smith era’s; continuous relegation battle after relegation battle; Johnson’s controversial regime; transfer debacles; and occasionally selling our best players to try and balance the books. It hasn’t always been a happy or easy time supporting the blues, but, like the rest of you, I have stood by the club.

With Kenwright and Moyes, we turned a significant corner and we got back on the right track – albeit it with some blips on the way (especially in relation to the transfer window) . Now look at our position as a club:
- Top half of the table despite the fact we aren’t playing that well (I still look calculate who we need to beat and cross my fingers to reach the magic 41 points of safety)
- Genuine new stadium on the cards (more a case of ‘where’ rather than ‘when’)
- Investment: the kind we could only dream about 10-15 years ago
- A manager and hierarchy that have great aspirations and decent footballing knowledge. When I have won several European titles, spent decades in the footballing industry, represented the national team or worked on the board of a successful club, I will offer an evidence backed critique. Until then, I shall trust in those in charge.
- Getting business done well before the last day (/ hour) of the transfer window
- A club who does classy and wonderful things such as donating £200k to Sunderland’s Bradley, fantastic work in the community and supporting the Justice for the 96 campaign

As an Evertonian, it is embarrassing to see such negativity on here about the club, the players and the staff. Look at what happened to the likes of Blackburn, Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Coventry and Rangers and what the supporters have been through. We are not in that sort of position. Even if we were, I would still stand by the club and tell my grandkids I was there when Horne smashed the ball in off the post in ’94 to escape relegation, when Farelly did the same against Coventry in ’98 or whoever in the future. I am hoping it will never come to that again and look forward to a bright future.
If you are not happy with the speed of the clubs’ progress, stop bringing the rest of us down and head over to the other side of Stanley Park for more instant success (sadly they are further ahead than us at the moment) . Me, I’ll be sticking with the blues. Like a cake, you can go and buy one from the shop but it tastes much better and more satisfying when you put in the effort and make it yourself.

I've seen quite a few people concerned over some the people we are trying to sign over things like stats and age. However, I trust the people we have to make the right calls.

All of the players signed in the summer have been an improvement and plenty of promise on the two bought so far.

Bolfedil doesn't have the greatest stats but by the sound of things he has been caught in a trap of multi ownership which has not aided his career.

His character would suggest the type of player Walsh would go for in that he seems to morals and work for his break through. He didn't chase Parma for owed wages wjen they went bankrupt.

I'm only going off what I've read but thought I would look a little past his stats. Either way I wouldn't judge the players before Koeman has first signed them and then see how they fit into the team.

I'm hoping we have most of the deals all tied up before the end of the window and have an early night for a change on Deadline Day. I can't stand Jim White's ugly smug mug.

{Ed025's Note - me neither john..

11 Jan 2017 21:21:34
If the fella is multi ownership, wouldn't that be a Tevez/ Macherano situation and therefore rumours we have agreed a fee, hokum.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he is multi-owned now M..

Mate of mine is a liege fan he is saying the fee reported in Belgium is closer to five. UK news 8.5 to 12. Any eds shed a light? Is he even likely. 5 sounds fair later might be a gamble.

11 Jan 2017 17:20:32
Can any of you believe that, despite having around 6 medicals since Thursday*, we still haven't signed that fella from the mancs?
*source MEN

Seriously though, let's hope that things are progressing behind the scenes to strengthen our squad. MS will give us better options in midfield than we already have, providing there are no last minute snags. Just a case of getting match fitness since he hasn't really featured too much this season.
Of the players we have been linked with, whether it is the press just throwing names in the hat or not, I hope we stay away from Fonte. As good as he has been for the saints, at 33 I think we should pass on bringing him to Goodison. Mainly because he is the wrong side of 30, we have enough of them in defence as it is. We only have to look at Jags and how he seems to have aged this summer, his legs have gone imo.
I'd take the lad from West Brom in a shot if it wasn't for his attitude, he certainly knows where the net is.
Hopefully we will get the MS deal over the line in the next 48hrs and then maybe ship a couple out. Fingers crossed it is a busy month with comings and goings as RK and SW shape up the squad

Now Now chaps if the Belfodil rumour is correct we might, just be looking at 2 signings in one week. Now i appreciate this is going to really confuse and blow the mind of some Everton supporters on here but panic not, because it looks like it might snow, so the down beat Everton posters on here will still have something to moan about.

If true as being reported we are supposedly looking at Belfodil whos gosl scoring record is nothing to write home about for 10.5 mill why not have a look ourselves at trying to get Berahino for the same price? Played in prem league, scored goals in the prem (although he's lost his way a bit) I would rather take a chance on him myself. At a different club and if he can get his form back would be an asset to any club.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

11 Jan 2017 15:12:55
Don't want either of them tbh. My hope is that Belfodil is a Steve Walsh special like Mahrez, Kante and Gueye.

Hope they do bid for berahino great player for that price

Agree2 Disagree2

11 Jan 2017 16:14:10
Hey

. I would snap up Berahino for 10 million, attitude or not. in terms of Belfodil, if rumours are true, why don't we simply let SW do his job. I mean what do we know?

Mart

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Jan 2017 18:06:21
Has anyone seen this Belfodil play? 9 in 19 may not be amazing but still pretty useful, and I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him play. Never heard of him until I saw that we were close to signing him on SSN. That said I hadn't heard of Niasse until I saw that we were close to signing him on SSN either, and we all know how well that went.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit windsor that i had never heard of him, but if it does come to fruition then lets give this guy our support and treat him like we do all players at the club with respect and love..

11 Jan 2017 18:29:41
Agreed Ed025. That's why I'll reserve judgement because if he puts a shift in and shows desire then I'll absolutely back him.

{Ed025's Note - and thats fair windsor mate..

How about McCarthy to Celtic in a swap for Dembele. kids going to move at some stage so might be worth a try.

Morning Blues

Things see to be in the pipeline we didn't know about, all the boo boys seem to be quiet. I think MS is a great signing once it gets over the line but now being linked with this Kessie who I don't know much about to be honest. Use to love watching the Ktalian football 10 years a go but now it's died. I'm just thinking if this is true it must give Davies a backwards step. Why go and sign a 20 year old who says he will give us more than this kid Davies. I do want signings but the right ones. Forget about the money. It's not mine they are spending, but unsure on this hope Walsh is right. But does this mean they don't fancy Davies?
Hope I'm wrong like.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would not get your hopes up about Kessie.}

11 Jan 2017 11:02:02
Jimbo, like you say. you don't know much about him. Soleave Walsh to do his job. If he thinks he is better than Davies. why not have the 2 of them. Maybe then we can get rid of Gibso, Cleverly, McCarthy and possibly Besic depending on his progress. You have to break eggs to make an omlette mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 10:46:55
Cheers Ed I wouldn't want to really prefer to give Davies a go with gana n MS

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 11:27:38
I'm just thinking about Davies progress as from what I hear everyone around the club think the kids got it. We may not even be in for this kessie just rumours I suppose I'm saying I would rather see this kid come on with the likes of gana MS and Barry. But agree with the list of deadwood you mentioned although I have a sort spot for McCarthy.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 12:20:30
I am a fan of Macarthy but he's to injurie prone. I would sell him now as we would probably get £20mil + for him in this crazy January window

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 13:37:33
They are not boo boys as such, just knee jerk reaction to Hull and memory loss over Koemans comment when he first came I. E. it would take 2 years. Many of us said patience and that is what is needed.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 14:04:38
I'm with you on that one Fozz98, not sure we would get 20 million for him though.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 08:45:36
I can't say I know Schneiderlin as a player. Don't really remember him. So I will get excited when he puts a decent shift in or two. However, I hear he is a defensive mid. So my fingers are now crossed that we get someone in with a bit of creativity. Our midfield is filled with defensive mids: McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Shneiderlin, Gana, Cleverly are all mainly defensive and Gibson always injured. Our other creative players are in the main wingers. so centrally we are still crying out for a creative player. Barkley is the obvious answer as well as the new boy Tom Davies. But Barkley has blown hot and cold and Davies is as yet a little raw. But when he has played, you can see the difference he makes to us as an attacking force. Imagine Mata or Payet or another similar player with us and you will see what I mean. (and I never mentioned Pienaar nor Osman once there! lol)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jan 2017 08:57:30
Degsy - yes MS is a DM, but he is more of a creative DM than McCarthy or Barry which will make a big difference.

Him and Gana both are excellent at winning the ball and playing it forward but also their positional play is superb. This is where the real benefit will come creatively as it will free up Barkley a bit more to be more creative.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 09:08:18
Desynchronise one word, Sigurdsson. He would be perfect as our attacking midfielder mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 09:38:05
I agree Degsy. We need a dew more creative players. Depay and Sigurdsson would really give us an edge and we also need another striker.

The guy from Leige doesn't look great on the stats front but maybe he just needs a run of games at a suitable club. He is doing better this season due to playing regularly. I think Koeman is desperate to get that 4-4-2 system going

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 11:05:17
I hear what you all say. Interesting times for sure. let's all cross our fingers, toes and any other body parts that will cross and hope for the bit of luck that seems to have always fallen on our red neighbours. That is the one bit of the jigsaw where we have always lacked I feel. They say hard workers seem to have more luck. but maybe it is time we had our fair share now?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 13:49:03
sigurdson would cost to much (even if they agreed to sell) given our present budget and 10 plus 24 million already spent while not exactly a poor club we are still not within the realms of Utd, City, Arsenal, Liverpool et al and as such we have to be fiscally prudent. Some of you just think that overnight we have become able to throw money at players, that is not the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 18:20:41
I believe Cleverly, Gibson and McCarthy will be on the move if the offer is right. Morgan is an upgrade on all if these players and will be the partner for Gana, with Barry and Davies as cover

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 00:37:09
Know the Sunderland keeper is out for a few weeks with an injury, but, in the long term would I think be a great buy
Do you think that Moyes might be tempted with jags plus a lump of cash, so he could go into the market to try and save sunderland?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jan 2017 01:03:30
Dave moyes would never stand in the way of a player bettering his career, so he says. Pickford is going to be some keeper but moyes won't let him go just yet.
