{Ed025's Note - they are both to blame skylark..

11 Oct 2017 21:59:57
I posted some time ago skylark and said that SW AND the board are all responsible to a certain extent. they all enabled this situation. procrastinating over a midfielder without replacing the TWO strikers we let go. and now RK is allowed to play numerous players out of position, whilst we are bursting at seems with talent in u23s. that would give us pace and width? absolutely bizarre! I thought that we would push on. Whilst I appreciate it takes time to integrate a squad, I think the tactics and squad selection has been a monstrous f@ck up, and may have set the squad back by years. All the credibility that he had built has disintegrated for me. In previous seasons I expected far less due to financial standing and squad limitations. but I expected more this year and as such this is as disappointed as I've been in a long time.

Usually I'm sceptical of fans going on about team selection (although I do it myself all the time) . However when every single fan is saying the same thing, every single pundit is saying the same thing, every single journalist is saying the same thing, the manager is obviously getting it wrong. Also take into account that we are playing woefully, and for me Koeman is the number one culprit. I'm not even sure that a top striker could drag us out of this slump tbh.

BT I think it right. If all RK was to do was replace Dom or Niasse with a target man, the style of play (based upon the same team selection, consisting of Schneiderlin, Gana, Rooney and sigurdson across midfield, Ashley Williams and Martina in defence) would still be wrong.

I'm with Blue Tommy on this. I wanted Koeman but he is the one to blame. SW as far as I know is only involved with scouting and signing players.

Koeman picks the team, tactics, style of play etc. He has the most responsibility and makes the final decisions. If he doesn't like a player that SW scouts or suggests I'm pretty sure Koeman can insist on not signing him.

So I can't see how SW can be blamed for much. Not his fault Koeman keeps picking players out of position and putting 3 number 10's in one team.

SW is involved in identifying players who can improve all our squads, and board buy players. Given the abundance of midfield players, lack of strikers/ no9 (lukaku goals) , SW and board has an obligation to ask what he intended to use new players for. maybe they all expected more from Rooney and Sandro. but that doesn't explain why sigurdson is now a left winger. I can't get my head around that one! And why we bought klaasen aswell?

I refuse to believe that Koeman is ignoring or not seeking input from Unsworth and Ferguson. Reports are that even Garbutt is now doing well under Unsworth's guidance. My Brother a life long fanatical/ superstitious (house decor/ clothes/ car) everything blue supporter, says he believes that even a draw will not be good enough to save Koeman's job on Sunday. We shall see.

Best solution koeman a nation not happy with their football team and a manager who would probably make them better its a win win for him to restore his reputation and blame efc for not buying a striker.

A solution that keeps every body happy.
Koeman takes the ducht job, we get somebody who knows how to get the best out of the players we have available, at least till january.
Plus EFC don't end up paying a fortune, AGAIN, FOR ANOTHER FAILIOUR.
Then give the job to Unsworth till the end of the season to see if he's the man for the long term, know u23's is not the prem, but he could not do a worse job than the present clown.
