ManCity should win the League Cup, but as they're surely qualifying for the Champions League - and as the League Cup runners up do not get a European place (unlike the FA Cup runners up in similar circumstances) - then a Europa League place goes to the next best league finish, which means that 6th place joins 5th in the Europa league. If the FA Cup winners and runners up both qualify for Europe via league position, then 7th might even qualify for the Europa League. We're still in with a chance :-)

If were not going to finish 4th I wuddent be bothered, europa has nothing to offer what so ever

Some pretty bad desicion making here, roads around the ground were closed earier and fans were advised to travel early and reports are comming in saying fans are stuck in heavy traffic because of the road closures. Whoever is responsible is a nob because all those fans who travelled have been put at serious risk in dangereous conditions. thgfest

Came down on M1 - M6 from London (don't live there, working there). Took 4 hours nightmare, bloody bridge closed. Chinese takeaway then back again. Bummer.

Environment agency issued red alert for all NW this afternoon. This effectively means 'risk to life' and it is left to 7.00pm to cancel the game?
Think somebody needs to answer a few questions over that one.
But the cancellation has some positives, firstly it gives our walking wounded a few more days to lick their wounds and if the game had been played it would have been a lucky dip lottery played in such horrendous conditions.
After my rant I am now heading into my underground bunker, night night!

Forgive my niavity, but are these fan events ran by the club or is it just a gang of dreamers wh get together to discuss like to haves rather than facts? I'm not having a pop I'm just trying to decide if this stadium power point is worth weeing myself with excitement or not? :)

Banter please ed.Davey boy blue listen mate the reds are ripping you apart over there mate I know your just trying to have a bit of banter but they get very personal over there especially about spelling.I used to post a bit of banter over there as well some of them are sound but the majority can't have banter and target your spelling mistakes instead believe me I know did you not know that they are the most intelligent fans in the world cough cough but seriously mate just post on this site it is the only site you need leave them to there own.Not giving out to ya just looking out for ya.Coyb

I don't know why anyone would go on another teams site just to wind others up. (I'm not saying that is what Daveyboy does as I don't read the Liverpool site).

But, If you do post on another teams page to just wind people up, then you can't moan when people have a go back.

This is the only page I post on (you lucky, lucky lot), but I do sometimes have a look on the Manchester United page when I need a laugh though.

Bear with me on this.
The three highest placed national associations in the UEFA Respect Fair Play ranking will each automatically gain an extra qualification berth for the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA Europa League, providing they have exceeded the threshold of games played, and have a minimum average score of 8.0. Looking at the current ranking tables, neither of those requirements would appear to be a problem for English clubs. These berths are then allocated to the highest placed club in that association's own Fair Play league that has not yet qualified for either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League. Of course, we want Everton to qualify for European competition via Premier League finishing position or FA Cup success - both of which means entering the European competitions at one of the later rounds - but we can't discount Fair Play qualification as an option.
For next season (2014-2015), the First Qualifying Round's legs take place on 3rd July and 10th July, which is when the World Cup is still taking place. The Second and Third Qualifying Rounds' legs take place over the following four weeks (17th July, 24th July, 31st July and 7th August). So, players from the World Cup - who would most likely be having a break before returning late to their clubs's pre-season training anyway - would also probably be unavailable for these early Europa League rounds.
As at the end of December, England were in fifth place in the UEFA Respect Fair Play rankings. (The top four are Finland, Norway, Sweden, and France.)
As at this morning (12th February), Everton were fifth in the Premier League Fair Play rankings. (Cardiff are top followed by Fulham, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, then us.)
So - to eventually get to my point ;-) - do we really want to get into the UEFA Europa League by this Respect Fair Play route and have to play qualifying rounds without our best players and, come to that, while all of our players would be in pre-season condition? Or, could it actually be a good part of a pre-season schedule?
All very hypothetical at the moment, but something to bear in mind.

The teams there are easy. Plus our team would prob be:

Joel

Coleman
Alcaraz/Duffy
Stones
Distin

McGeady
McCarthy
Barry/Ossie/Gibson (depends if they go WC or not)
Pienaar/

Kone
Naismith

Plus any new signings

Right going to put some positivity back in us. Last 4 fixtures at first looked like we had a nightmare. But WBA point isn't looking so bad now, Liverpool and Chelsea have both struggled there. Liverpool and spurs away. les be honest we would have took a point at both before the matches. Get 3 points tonight and Liverpool fail to win then were back in it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yep we just have to do our job and others will drop points.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that we should concentrate on what we do and not worry about what other clubs do. However, it's interesting to me that some managers enjoy playing mind games to affect other teams - and how it does work sometimes. Look back at Keegan's reaction to Ferguson's comments. Look now at ManCity's last couple of results following Mourinho's comments.
