. Nastasic has joined Schalke on loan til end of season with an option to sign permanently thereafter. another ship has sailed by.Q: how on earth did Everton fc not show some interest in this talented young central defender at a time when we need more strength & depth in this area?!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Alarm bells were ringing in the summer now I can't hear myself think! This needs sorting and fast!

Nastasic has the maneuverability of a shipping liner. Demichelis gets picked above him in the team. i'm glad we didn't get him tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Demicheles is a good defender! Wether or not nastasic is the answer we do need a decent centre back with presense and can organise from set pieces

a Centre back is such an important position to fill long term, I can't see the players we would want being available in a transfer window, I believe this will wait until the summer to be sorted.

{Ed025's Note - i agree wakka..

hi Ed025 not a rumour but with Edin Dzeko on Stokes radar surely he's one to have a look at if The eto rumours are true

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he would be great pablo..but his wages may be too high for us to even contemplate mate..

If he was available we should be interested, but the problem would be this would put Etoo further down the pecking order as a main striker which is his preferred position, so can't see it happening.

. Martinez has told the press this morning that there is no truth in Etoo leaving for Sampdoria & when asked if signing keeper 'Marshall' he answered "No"!! Make of that what you want but it would appear that the press & bookies av been talking a load of crap once again!

{Ed025's Note - it wont be the first time zacki..or the last mate..

Tbf, he did say the same thing about mcgeady before he signed (his pre norwich press conference the day before mceady and his moobs were introduced) let's hope he's lying again, just a shame he was lying the first time tbh.

Re. the transfer window.
when the Marmite man came to us as manager,
I for one that with him would come all is knowledge & contacts from Spain.I thought we would be bringing in good young talents on loan
& experienced players from La Lega.
we are now 12 days into the window & NOTHING!
only talk of players leaving.
we all know the main 3 problem.
a new goalie, centre back & forward with pace.
If he can't bring the talent from Spain then what does he bring to the table?
answers on a postcard to BK.

There's 3 weeks left in this window. There's plenty of time left yet. But by the sounds of what you are calling him, he probably doesn't stand a chance with you anyway.

I personally don't love him or hate him, so I'll call him Bobby for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I'm not mistaken in saying that Roberto Martinez(call him what you like) has been in British football since he came to Wigan in 1995, so I'm not sure how much contact he has with the Spanish league. Sorry

What was deulefeu if not a good young talent on loan. Atsu showed lots of promise who have is why Chelsea bought him and why we got him on loan at the start of this season. Lukaku as well last season was good young talent in loan. I'm just a little bit confused by that comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

But these next two weeks will be gone in a flash unless we act now. A new keeper is a definite and with the problems in defence a new CB and RB are needed (especially as the rumours regarding Seamus) refuse to go away. A winger is also something we need to be concentrating on. McGready and Atsu aren't good enough if we are to press on following an abysmal Christmas, despite the last 2 results. Let's act sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would like to think so davey, but i cant see us doing much business in this window mate..

What a player tadic is for Southampton! 10mil was he? We were continually linked but as usual never did anything about it and now at Southampton is flying! Were we not also linked with Forster and Alderweireld? What a bunch of players they are. Any way all I'm say is, if only .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Always believed that Everton are sometimes over cautious, definitely naive and yes even tighter than the proverbial Ducks Nethers in the transfer market. Hate to say it but look at lukaku a player who could not get in Chelseas Squad, one who they only paid 11 million for and we go and pay 28 million. Roberto talks a good game but the stats do not lie, we are 3 points that is three points above relegation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he actually cost chelsea £19m DM, but thats irrelevant, but saying they are tight, then that they bought romelu for £28m is a contradiction of terms, we dont have the financial clout of other sides thats true, but we are a proper club and for our sins have incredible support, i agree we are in trouble, but if we show the same commitment as we did on saturday im sure we will be fine mate..

We are often a bit slow on opportunities to buy quality players look at the Nigel Martyn episode when he went to Leeds!

Agree0 Disagree0

To say we are slow is possibly a bit naive, if you believe the paper talk we could have signed just about every player in Europe over the last few seasons. Cherry picking the ones which worked out somewhere is hardly fair. let's get some positivity on here, I saw something change in the second half of the West ham game, things are getting better, let's try to get behind the team. Please let's not hang Lukaku up to dry just yet. IMWT COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you steve, lets hope that corner has been turned mate..

So Chelsea paid 19 million for him not 11 that still gives them a 9 million profit on a player they did not want and did not play. Not always been an admirer of big Sam Allardyce but he came out with a statement today that reflects the view of the majority of us. Roberto is not flexible with his tactics believing despite all evidence to the contrary that his system of play is correct in all situations. We played far more direct against City and if we fail to adapt that sort of tactic against West Brom, a must win, then we are in deep trouble. 61 years we have been in the top flight, someone should tell Roberto that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree that he must be more flexible DM, not only is tika-taka one dimensional and boring, but everyone knows how to negate it mate..

Just re-read an article from December about Besic becoming a cult hero at Everton; I'd say he's well on his way the way he's playing at the moment.
