Well that's Fulham with new owners then! got to be out turn soon!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't hold your breath.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still believe that money isn't everything. but when I see clubs like fulham and qpr and their stadia for example get bought it frustrates me.

Still looking forward to the new season though, look at qpr now.

southern blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but I still prefer a Brit to own the club - why should rich foreigners be able to buy the history of our clubs?

Why don't ultra rich foreigners buy football clubs in their own countries and spend mega money on them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its London, that's it. The only reason. A 'stylish' new location for mr billionaire to live. London is the capital of the world, not england. Normal English people don't live there anymore, its just a melting pot for every nationality going, and a playground for the rich. Similar to why someone has decided to waste millions on Monaco instead of a Marseille or Bordeux. Unfortunately money is everything, because it talks a lot louder than you or I.

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing with QPR and Fulham are that they are London based clubs!

The only reason the new owners went after Fuham was because they were based in London and helps their profile as well as market their NFL team in London.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, but London is the No 1 capital city in the world and the world's No 1 Financial centre.

So if you want to invest and have maximum exposure - go to London

I saw that the mancs are preparing to bid 40M for Baines and Felli. I for one would like to counter the two for 15m + Rooney. Use the money to buy Honda for 5M, Diame for 3. 5 M, and a replacement LB around 7-8M. Assuming Martinez plays a 3-4-3 a starting line up of Howard GK, Coleman RB, Jags/Distin/Alcaraz CB, new Lb/ Oviedo, Gibson/Diame cdm, Pineaar Lm, Osman Rm, Honda/Barkley CAM, Geroulu (sp?) LW, Rooney/ Kone/ Big Vic ST, and Mirallas at RW would give us a great chance of achieving Champions League Football. I know it's a bit of wishful thinking, but what do you think ED's? {Ed025's Note - i want to keep our best players christian, but sometimes s*** happens mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will not sign Rooney, not in a million years! His wages are too much for us. Even if we offered him 100k a week he would still be 150k a week down. Nike won't pay his wages they're not that stupid. I wish to god people would stop going on about him. Anyone who actually believes he will come is seriously deluded or doesn't understand a thing about football

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddock its pretty widely known that Rooney wants to return one day. that's not us wanting that, but him wanting that. He might not be back anytime soon but at some point before he's 32 I believe we will have an opportunity to sign him. Whether we wish to waste money on the over weight, hasbeen oaf is another matter. Your just lucky it won't happen until well in the future, so people will forget to ram your ridiculous delusional and football understanding comment back down your hatch.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you had half an ounce of common sens you would rrealise I was talking about the here and now not the future. He may well come back in 5 years time when he is even more washed out, that's if we're daft enough to sign him but he will not come this transfer window orr next his wages are too big for us and that's a fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

To paddock Rooneys wages could be achieved very easily and still make money. any sponsor will pay more money if there product is being given major coverage. rooney is wanted by psg chelsea and aresenal, not just for footballing matters, but for off field matters, he's still the biggest draw out of the English players. to say his wages are too high is stupid,. u imagine the interest not just domestically but globally any Rooney deal will generate. football in England is sold worldwide bringing major money into EPL. rooney to everton is probably a dream but to base it on his wages, would be down to inept and a board who frankly are not putting the work in. you put rooney in an everton Chang shirt u imagine there marketing men. u imagine the frenzy of our fans, merchandising,. football is major business, u need an icon, a face that sells your club. he's a cash cow, his wages are 12 million a year. anyone who thinks we would generate 20 million a year out of rooney is so small minded and out of touch with the business world of marketing

Agree0 Disagree0

So we should pay him 200k plus a week then? What affect do you think it would have on the likes of felliani and baines. We have a wage cap for a reason and smashing that to get Rooney is ridiculous. It would be a disater. We cannot afford him and its as simple as that. Sad but true

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney to return, but not for the foreseeable. Paddock is right, at this moment in time, we could not afford him. Ofcourse it's possible, but with our current board, we should park this thought for now.

don't really think there's any truth in the matri rumours. probably just juve trying to kick start his sale. if we are going to keep everyone I would like to see roberto go for diame who has been linked. which would leave a few quid for another attacking midfielder. don't really know who. but would give us strength in depth all over the park. happy at the moment. come on roberto work some magic. coyb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2013 18:44:11
Don't think we would benefit from that matri. Especially for the asking price

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2013 16:28:43
Is it just me. or do all everton fans want a sole ground?,.

More rumours yesterday about a ground share! We need to get on the efc website and put our thoughts accross!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I also thought fans want a club that can compete financially with the biggest clubs in the Pl and the world. And if this option creates a more viable commercial arrangement, then fans should balance the emotional view with rational ones.

Could be the difference of hundreds of millions of dollars to invest, then significant future revenue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Plenty of cities/clubs all over the world do it successfully

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 20:29:53
Why do you assume that only the financial considerations are the only rational ones, its patronising to suggest that other considerations are only emotional.
Perhaps some of us have the benefit of a wider view.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fulham bought

Agree0 Disagree0

Milan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy to share with them lot across the park. Think we actually get on pretty well as fans of two clubs operating within a few millimeters of each other. Its them who won't do it though. They know if its a level playing field we would leave them for dead. Us playing in our battered old stadium with sod all income is good for them. Us playing in a s****y new 50,000 seater with excellent corporate facilities, def not good for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

So what are the other rational reasons. Hope there are about 150 million reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully those benefitting from a wider view are not the same ones whinging about not being able to compete financially with the top 4

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton and Liverpool have excellent relations. I believe the re living of the tragedy last season, especially BKs speech at the Anfield memorial service reignited a relationship that had been forgotten by both sets of fans for about 20 years. Twice a year, we are the bitterest of rivals. But for the rest of the season all I hear and see is friendly banter and a begrudging respect for each other.

The ginger rat is getting hot under the collar about being asked if rooney is for sale. " it's hard to keep repeating myself, but I will do wayne is a man unt player and will remain that. " OK, SO TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE AND BACK OFF BAINES. How many more times do you need telling.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said, but baines will be going, sorry!

If people could sign just one more player (assuming no one else leaves) for up to 10 million - who would they sign - or which position do we most need to fill?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Honda {Ed025's Note - i second that..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jordy clasie

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that we are intrested in moses

Agree0 Disagree0

Honda if he had a big contract he would cost big bucks so we should snap him up

Agree0 Disagree0

100% honda, struggled in cm last year late on in games when we had gibson out, ossie looked jaded after 70 mins and we had no options on the bench, if not him a cm

Agree0 Disagree0

Banega .

12 Jul 2013 14:07:38
I don't expect anything and am not hyping him up by asking how he is getting on. Tough week at work?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its a bit steep to be honest, its not like he's a young lad. Better targets out there imo

Been a regular viewer of this site for a while, but this is my first post. Anyway, what does everone think about the prospect of Mirallas, Kone and Deulofeu bombing forwad next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looking forward to it alot, hurry up 17th august

Along with Baines and Coleman hopefully.

Hi, do you know something new about Fellaini and Baines trade to Man utd? united want to pay 40 mil. I think it will be good bussiness for us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No felleni has buy out clause of 24 million so 16m will buy baines no way needs to be closer to 50 million but don't think we should sell baines felleni is out of our hand regardless of if we want to sell or not I would do a straight swap felleni 4 Rooney

Agree0 Disagree0

It's £46m :- (

Why is everyone bothered that we've pulled out of the Moses deal? We still have Kev, peanuts, Deulofeu and Oviedo (if necessary) on the wings. We don't need another winger who, quite frankly, hasn't really impressed me. Signing him would mean we'd massively restrict Deulofeu's play time which would mean Barca (and other top teams) won't want to loan us anymore talent. Unless he is a massive flop, the best thing we can do is play Del Boy as much as possible.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2013 11:36:21
Could someone give a progress report on George green and the type of player he is? Is he showing any of the potential that led to pretty much every club being after him? Can we expect to see him or any other academy member feature under RM any time soon?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

People need to stop hyping him up so much just let him progress at his own speed so when he finally gets a chance everyone won't get on his back if he doesn't perform to what you expect.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 13:26:20
Read th OP's message again, he is only asking a question and not hyping anyone up

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first reply:

All the OP was saying is what type of player is he and how is he coming on? He didn't, at any point, say anything along the lines of "This guy is going to be the next Iniesta, so why has he not even made his debut yet?". The closest he (the OP) came to saying anything like you said he did, was when he said that G. Green was being chased by most clubs, but he didn't say he was a world beater.

It was a simple question, followed by a blisteringly harsh reply. Read the post fully before casting your reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I am aware he is progressing well but we have to remember he came at a huge price as a 15 year old we need to remember he has already had a high profiled transfer without kicking a ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy and Keith, Thankyou.

The Echo say we have abandoned a move for Moses, apparently he would rather bring in a central midfielder rather than another forward, shame though, he would have been good for us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We should sell heitinga and bring in an unknown budget RM midfield gem and spend the rest of what we have on Moses.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have mirrallas on the right and and you want a unknown and moses for a cb, hmmmm

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 10:17:09
According to newsnow we have pulled plug on moses deal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2013 10:13:25
obviously made up with our signings up to now.
if we could get moses & diame as well I would be over the moon.
also it will be interesting to see whether some the players who were not given a decent chance under " whatshisname" are given a shout under Robbie.
ie Duffy, Barclay, Junior, Oviedo and even Naismith who was played out of position every time.
also liked the looked of John Stones when he played for England.
all in all really exciting time to be a Blue and I have seen some top EFC teams over the years.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stones will only play if we are short of rm and coleman pushes up, junior and oviedo and honestly don't think are good enough but duffy and barkley will this year

I despair at the lack of credit we get from Sly TV. The live games allocation up to the end of the year for thr top six are.

Man U - 6 games
Man C - 7
Chelsea - 7
Arsenal - 6
Spurs - 6
EVERTON - 3!!

Only Cardiff Hull and Stoke have less than us. Honestly even if we finished in the top three we would still be treated like a bottom half team.

Hate this treatment

Toffee ace

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So right. It's a disgrace. But then again, I'm quite glad. Means we can go about our business in the shadows. Slightly takes the pressure off.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you have bt Internet you can get bt sport which comes with ESPn for free, I know the derby and us v city is on bt sport

Agree0 Disagree0

We've got five games haven't we?
4 at home and 1 away

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Clarkey. I was wondering about the derby. I havnt got BT but I have got espn.

I am just annoyed that every year despite our consistent league standing we seem to get overlooked and it hurts our revenue stream.

The only reason I have sky is because the Mrs wants sky Atlantic. And if she's not happy. well you know the rest

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree I thought we played some of the best football in the prem last season it does not bother me to much as I got season ticket but some fans don't and can't afford ticket prices even my dad said and he is not an everton fan that he enjoyed watching us more than any other side last season mind you saying that they are only showing the top 3 clubs first match cause of the manager appointments otherwise there is no chance that would happen with same manager still happy for spot light to be off us yet again and we can get on with things without the unwanted media hype this will be moyes biggest change in his new role and he seems to be getting annoyed with the Rooney talk already

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 09:04:12
Moses is no longer on the radar as we have already got Kone and Delofeu. Next target is a midfielder, Mo Diame is the most likely target due to his price tag but Wanyama would have been a beast.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2013 08:51:50
Moses deal very close now! Loan deal agreed, just waiting now to agree future fee at end of deal! We have paid 1mil to loan for 12 months and I believe the future fee to be around 8-9 mil.

Any question, please ask?>

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thats strange considering Martinez pulled the plug on the deal last nigh.

My mate knows Roberto Martinez pretty well and he said he wants to make 2 more signings. A winger and a cm, I'm guessing Moses and Honda coyb. Mark

I'm absolutely delighted with the signings so far and I can see maybe 2-3
more coming soon.
Moses will only come on loan, Honda looks to be on his way to Milan but for some reason that doesn't bother me because he doesn't strike me as a player who would be class in the prem, Fer will be at Norwich soon but maybe we might try and go in for him again hopefully we do because strength is what we need there.
