Been a wehile since I've been on. Can I ask those Rooney family members that keep coming on this and every other site demanding that we bring him back. What exactly wil he bring? He's a busted flush at both Man U and England. We are trying to move forward, Why the hell would we want him back? He made his bed years ago. Once a Blue? don't make me laugh.

In the words of the infamous song in Frozen 'Let it go, let it go'. In regards to Rooney leaving.

I'm not one of those 'demanding' as you put it to bring him back. But, if he were available I would certainly be in favour of him returning. Do you honestly think he wouldn't be in the running of a starting place?

Imho he would work very well in Barkley's position and would work very well with Lukaku. Even an alternative to Lukaku up front. Has still plenty to offer. Played at the very top for so long at the same club. Change could fresh in him up. You know what they say, a change is as good as a rest.

Look at Hart. Early days yet but the indication at this stage is the change of club has had a massive positive effect on him. Just look at his display the other night.

Possibly could be the same for Rooney. Don't care what anyone says. Everton is Rooney's number one club. Utd come second to him. Anyone that can't see that is still soar over him moving.

I was as annoyed as anyone when he left but no point holding a grudge against him.

Not sure if we could afford him, his wages are astronomical verses our wage structure and presumably United would want some sort of fee for him. Having said that and realizing that he is past his best he is still a world recognized name. I would imagine that having him as a player would help to attract new recruits. It could happen but probably will not.

What make you think Rooney wants to come back at this moment he said he wants to finish his career at everton I don't think he's finished yet.

I don't care what people say I would have him bk in a heart beat and not for sentiment. but because he still has three or four good years left in him and now has a point to prove after being written off by United and England I really hope we get him.

Me too shakey30. People say his wages would be a stumbling block. I'm not so sure it would. His demands for wages has bound to of come down. Can't see him leaving Utd this season. Next season he may be within our scope wages wise. Still has a couple of good seasons in him. Not to his usual high standard but still a pretty high standard in comparison to most.

If the reports are right and United want to buy him out of his contract then he is on three hundred grand a week 18 months left witch is 72 weeks then that's about 21 million If he gets that I don't think he will be that bothered about a pay drop.
I hope our new owner puts his money were his mouth is an brings him home.

So if he is not finished why would man utd sell him or pay him off to leave and why can't he get in the staring line up for man utd or England ? age has nothing to do with it don't forget he has been playing professional football at a high level from 16 and England started at 17 so yes in my eyes he is finished and Everton would be moving backwards not forward if we take him back this is not tripe but an opinion like yours.

Skylark, using your logic. Barry was 17 when he started his first premiership appearance. So at 35 he is still contributing massively. I'm not saying Rooney will definitely still be playing in premiership when he is 35. This thing of he started earlier than everyone else therefore he will finish earlier than most doesn't add up. As I said look at Barry.

Every individual is different. I wouldn't give up on Rooney yet. He may be going through a bad patch. He had at least one before and pulled out of it with flying colours. Who's to say he won't do it again?

I like Rooney and I would have loved him back at the club 2 years ago. However, getting him now reminds of when we got players like Ginola and Gascoigne.

We are past this type of signing. It isn't the same as Barry as the role is different. He's not sitting in and only running 10 yards forwards and back.

If we got him for nowt and he cut his wages by 90% I'd take him as cover and to sing his name one last time.

He is no were near finished it's called a bad spell. When he is bk on form who do we have who is better we have no one better.
Lukaku went about 13 games without a goal does that mean he was finished.
