Hi Eds it's in the papers again today about Barkley holding back on his contract they seem to blame RK and the way he treated him? What do you think.

{Ed007's Note - Contract negotiations these days are like a game of chess crossed with call my bluff mate and there will be a lot more newspaper room used up about it all before Barkley's is sorted one way or another.}

He's started to play better after RK had a few words anyway so something must have hit home. But we need to keep the young team together.

I reckon Barkley is playing better because he's slimmer and fitter now. Also RK getting better quality around him. Papers love a story especially when it's a young blues player. And let's face it they have to write about something.

Agree with you there woburn. And i can't see barkley going anywhere anytime soon. I had the pleasure of giving him a lift home from a game once about 6-7 years ago when he was a ballboy, he got my cousin a ticket who rang me at half time to say he was also at the match an if i'd mind giving him an his mate a lift home, when i got outside the ground there was my cousin standing with this mountain of a kid, all shy an quiet, perfectly mannered lad who couldn't thank me enough for the lift.

i had a new vectra at the time which was a big spacious car, the lads head was touching the roof an his knees up 2 his chest, he's a beast. He just adores everton, typical scouse everton fan kid who's dream was always to play for everton.

My cousin an his dad was always banging on about barkley since he was a proper kid saying he's honestly the best player they have ever seen, not being biased because they know him but because he was just an unbelievable footballer who had it all in the locker.

I spoke to my cousin a few weeks ago about him an i asked if he was considering leaving with the spurs rumours going round an not getting as much football as he would have liked at the time an he said no chance, the only way he would leave everton is if we got rid of him cos he wouldn't want to play for anyone but his boyhood dream club.

I think thays why we've seen a better barkley of late because he wants to fight to keep his dream alive. Hope the lad achieves everything we know he can with our great club an help us fill up that trophy room a bit more. Him an davies are the future of our club.

His agent is doing his job. Like it or not that's the nature of the game. Barkley will stay with us all the money talk was always going to get agents pushing for bigger contracts. Its pure posturing. He looks fitter even with the odd comment from RK he's got to realise he's progressing. His pre goal celebration to me looked like a confidence he's not had before.
