I think it's time everybody got real with things. we are NOT a big club at the moment - the only thing big about us is the problems and unrealistic expectations.
How typical that our period of big money investment has resulted in chaos, disappointment and ridicule and courting managers of the level who we have been linked with. Wholesale changes from the top down is the only way we will progress. time to say goodbye to the so called "legends" and get some real modern football people into the club or else the demise will only continue.

Said that for ages Nev7611 but been slapped down (metaphorically) for it, Mr Kenwright saved us etc! I get that and eternally grateful but as you quite rightly indicate times change and we must change with it. There is a reason Mr Moshri was only allowed 49.9 percent and I believe it was a selfish reason.

14 Nov 2017 06:25:32
The reason he’s only got 49% is because that’s all he needs to have a majority as there are about 3% of shares out there that were lost in the war because the certificates were destroyed in the blitz. So 49% will go unchallenged because it’s impossible for anyone to hold more than him. He’s a billionaire for a reason and not buying a penny more than he needs is one of them. Mathematically in this case 49% is equivalent to a controlling steak.

Total agree about a lot of unreal expectations would like to know what the demise continuing statement is about though the last time we won anything was 22yrs ago since then we have seen dross seen a lot of mediocre stuff and occasionally a bit of good stuff. I don't think this season will be any different from the last 10. Top 8 finish if we can get a bit of form back into the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Nov 2017 19:32:51
Toffee do not disagree with any of that, but would like the theoretical control to be factual. Are you telling me that Bill does not have any shares or enough to deny Moshri 50.1. Bill should be an honoury Chairman and let go of his toy it really is that simple, while he refrains the Club has no chance of meaningful progression.

Moshi, sound out PSG see if there's any mileage in them off loading there manager Emery. Apparently a few of the "players" are not happy with his methods, and as the players now have all the power, guess who will get the boot.
Think we were trying to get this guy before, so come on Mr Moshi get in there.

13 Nov 2017 18:33:11
Then our lot will decide they don't like his methods and we will get rid of him lol.

Sadly Nick. You might be right. Rumours have it, that he gets the team to watch endless videos of the opposition and that he works the team to the bone on the training ground.

50/ 1 worth a £1?

13 Nov 2017 19:39:35
That's why I like him. I watch endless videos, and work my bone. Sorry self to the bone. 🤐.

13 Nov 2017 22:42:19
Yea Worburnblue but do you get £50,000 or more to do so a week? God help the players its slave labour that work.

NBTB I was being a little naughty, seems everyone missed that one. 😀.

No I seen you were joking. I was agreeing with you on a serious note. Players have too much power.

13 Nov 2017 17:09:56
Until we get a striker in that will complement our other players we will struggle to score goals so we need to get our defence well drilled and tight, conceded far too many messing about at the back without the quality jags and Williams can't do it so, now if it was stones and Keane different story but until then we have to be a little more direct Klassen should be given time his class will come good but when you play him Sigurdsson and Rooney it won't work, Rooney should of been turned into a midfielder 3 years ago.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 Nov 2017 17:20:27
Rooney was turned into a midfielder 3 years ago. Long time since he led the or England line.
He was never bought into be a striker for us. just someone screwed up the one position the ousted manager stated time and again that he wanted 2 strikers not including Calvet or Wayne.

Wayne is here because he was free and took a pay cut to help shift a few shirts, give us back up to the strikers and to maybe play the tricky away legs of Euro games and steel a goal here and there.
He was never meant to be as involved as he has been. I feel sorry for the guy because he is in the firing line from the cretin brigade.

I hate this predictive text.
Long time since he led the line for manutd.

13 Nov 2017 19:24:37
I agree with most of that. But and it is a big but, he is used in the very position earmarked for two players we spent 70 million on. One of those hasn't as yet adapted but the other a proven No: 10 is being wasted. Unsy even dropped Wayne for the very game/ competition you have said he should be utilised for.

13 Nov 2017 21:31:10
Sorry but when was the last time rooney played cm.

We can take as much or as little time we want into the appointment of a new manager but bottom line is it makes no difference the manager will either get results or not, regardless of big name or not, would love Simone as he fits the bill, passion, determination and astute signings. People say cause he is in champions league so are a lot of managers but I would not take them.
Tuchel was mentioned but what has he done, getting Dortmund into champions league is not an achievement for them it's a given. I like Dyche a lot and deserves a chance to go further in his career my only worry is this is a more pressured job and will be expecting to get top 4 not this year but over next couple of seasons MOSHIRI will want champions league football and trophies.

13 Nov 2017 10:33:01
Have to wonder if Everton are unique in the Premiership for their hesitancy in transfer/ appointment decision making and negotiations. We all know the outcome before it happens. Dither Dither Dither and then appoint the wrong person. Everton are the RISC chip of the Football World.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

13 Nov 2017 13:24:16
Why rush in? We have someone there at the moment to do the job until the right appointment comes. So they can take their time if it means we get the manager to take us forward.

Toffee. Many years ago when we actually needed her income my wife - a well educated, well qualified person in her particular field - resigned from her job - reason, she was fed up. Resigning without having another job to go to meant it was tighten belts time. Our lesson from that, was also passed on to our kids and yes myself included. Everton are only just out of the relegation zone, we cannot tighten our belts any further or we will be back down there. They should with responsibility had at least a verbal agreement with someone else. I like Unsy but now is not the time to throw him in the deep end, a return of one win in four, will not head us up the table.

Agree2 Disagree7

13 Nov 2017 14:14:59
I wouldn't rely too much on his stats its too early. In the prem he has won 2 out of 3 which isn't bad. I do question his team selection and wonder if he is afraid to drop Rooney or Schneiderlin because he wants the job so much.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 15:27:08
I get your point BDM but maybe the temp measure of Unsy is their safety net so that they could react quickly to the poor results and sack Koeman. I’m not saying it’s the perfect scenario but I’d say it’s of little risk. With Palace up next I’d imagine we will have a plan should we win and a different one should we lose.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 16:20:17
You could look at that another way. At the time your wife made a decision without thinking of the full implications of doing so. Would us appointing someone who we may not think is the best candidate not be doing the same thing? Of course I hope it all worked out ok for you and your family but I would much prefer a well thought through appointment than a rushed one at the minute.

{Ed025's Note - me too cropper..

13 Nov 2017 00:38:59
Word has it, that PSG, are about to part company, with Unai Emery, the Target we wanted before Koeman.
If there is anyone with an ounce of brains in our boardroom they will hold fire on an appointment until this situation becomes clear, and if it happends, grab him with both hands. He achived near miricals at servill, less money, and with respect, a smaller club.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

13 Nov 2017 06:09:26
That would be a good appointment JCW. He's master at winning cups too.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 08:57:29
if he is so good why is he leaving PSG?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - because Neymar does not like him or the fact that he makes the players train so hard and watch too many videos of opponents. He moans a lot about how boring it is watching the videos.}

13 Nov 2017 11:42:21
ED001 not doubting you but are you seriously saying that the reason a well respected coach is leaving a club is because of a player not wanting to conform to what is not an unreasonable request? If this is the case then football is on a very slippey slope.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes. Neymar is worth more to the club than Emre.}

13 Nov 2017 12:00:59
Ed001. You have to have sympathy for these players having such a tough time having to watch videos of football whilst only being paid a few million a month. I’m surprised the union havnt been informed of these Dickensian working conditions.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I know mate, I feel for the lad I really do, I mean what kind of life is it he has when he is expected to do as much as 4 hours work some days? It is a disgrace.}

13 Nov 2017 12:45:29
The thing i like about Emery is his record in cup games which aswell as giving us a chance to win some silverware it shows his tactical knowledge to set up to win games and this would undoubtedly help with our inferiority complex against the top 6.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 12:54:55
Neymar sounds like a complete idiot. Crying in a press conference and putting his head in the Brazil coaches lap to console himself. They spent the best part of £200m on him plus £300k a week yet he's whinging like a primary school kid kept in at lunch.

If he's struggling to watch a few hours of football on TV each week for £15m per year, he should try SPENDING £45 a week going to watch us play.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, most of us spend money to watch the game and that little bell is complaining about being paid to watch!}

13 Nov 2017 17:01:59
I take his previous job as the one to judge him on and he would be a good appointment but then again I thought Koeman was good appointment, we need to appoint soon or just say to Unsworth you got till end of season but where do we go then, will Unsworth want to go back to u23 or be no 2 or what happens if unsworth gets best case scenario finish 6/ 7th how would we not give him the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 19:00:21
I think I read Neymar is on 88p a second and £53.29 a minute. So that equates to £3197.44 an hour and £76,738.57 a day. Weekly that is £537,170 and finally £2,327,736 a month. So I totally understand why he doesn't want to watch videos of the next opposition.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 19:11:23
You've got to feel for the lad if you ask me. I mean, four or five hours on the training pitch per day plus having to watch videos of the opposition and he is only on the amount that Mowfee82 has worked out. I think we should maybe set up one of them just giving accounts, top up his wages and soften the blow of all that hard work he does that obviously makes him cry.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Nov 2017 21:10:40
Neymars just earned £26.40 in the time it took me to read Mowfee82s post lol.
