It seems obvious to me that Booby is slowly building a very useful young squad for the future, playing his style of football. Stanek, Galloway, Henen (hopefully - we cannot allow this one to escape), Garbutt, Stones, Duffey, Coleman, Besic, McCarthy, Atsu, Barkley, Lukaku and a few of the U-21s.
This can only be a good move and one for a long future of increasing success.

I read a post that said they were concerned with everton finances and our spending. I am also cautious when it comes to finances and see the nightmare other football clubs have been through. however if we look at the last three windows under martinez I think we have spent approx 19 to 20 million after the sales of fellani jelavic and anichebe. With the improved tv deal I think this is afordable. Also getting heitinga and jelavic off the wage bill will have helped.

We definitely need a striker! Don't think we can rely on the fitness of Kone, am not convinced Traore is the answer and just wish these Et'o rumours would disappear. Is there any money available Ed? And if so how much? Also any other forwards names being put about?

Dont get me wrong, I am looking forward to the new season but all these new signings and new contracts are leaving me slightly worried we are stretching our finances. I am fine as we stand now but more and I will be worried about early exits from the cup tournaments.
Am I just being pessimistic?

I don't mind the media spot light not being on us again it speaks volumes about the way we run our football club and business, we will leave the top 4 spurs and Manchester United to play the media circus game while we go about our own Martinez master plan, people saying we are no better off than last year nonsense people forget we had 3 players out most of the season last year Gibson kone and Oviedo so will have them back soon, I think one more striker then I will be happy, get Hernandez on the cheap 12m will score bags of goals

If I may, I'd like to make the following predictions.
Nothing is going to be said about our loan of Atsu even if he is downright amazing because Liverpool also have a player on loan, so that's ok then.
Besic will be joining man u in January because we are in trouble with the banks due to overspending in the summer.
We will finish 7th in the league because spurs are from London
Pardew will headbutt our mascot because he's a gross person.
Arsenal posters will flood this site with sycophantic remarks about how much we try to play like them in a patronising tone.
And finally we win the Europa league and qualify for the champions league only to later learn that we are disqualified for walking on the cracks in the pavement
And all because the media love the top 4 (and spurs)

Cant believe the season starts in just 2 days, I can't wait, a 9 month period of happiness, magic and non stop joy, if you don't support everton that is, if you do, well we are in for the usual, first 8 games only one defeat (you all know who against :(), we then travel to burnley (get in the car not under it), this is where things take a turn for the worst, shaky start, end to end, 'ings shoots!' 'thats going nowhere clive', 'deflection off baines! Its in! Burnley have done it with only seconds to spare!', we get back on track, win and couple of draws, we then travel to white hart lane (shudders) to face tottenham and their crowd of zombies, we go one nil up through a john stones bicycle kick, adebayor nets 2 in 2 minutes, only 4 minutes left, now the noise starts! (ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh wheeeeennnnnn tthhhhheeeeeee ssssppppppuuuuuuurrrrrrrssssssss ggooooooooooo maaaaaaarcccchhhhhhinnnn innnnn, ohhhh wheeeeeen (you get the point)), we then go undefeated until january, city home first game (please say I got thay right, I havent, its hull, but for the sake of this post, let's say its city :)), city are top of the league, we, are in 3rd, the crowd goes mental, we go one nil up thanks to an alcaraz 35 yard free kick, 2 nil a minute later through a christian atsu solo run from the bench all the way to the city goal, of course it gets ruled out and we go on to win 1 nil, hurray!, at this point, city are top, chelsea second, everton joint third with liverpool and arsenal, same points and goal difference, we are ahead so their fans can moan about are loans some more, the red enter word here at home, in the rain, 1 nil up through a skrtel own goal after gerrard slipped and headed the ball at skrtels arse, barry is out of this game, 90th minute, 30 yards out, steven gerrard shoots first time, play stops, everyone wonders what's going on!, besic has snapped gerrard legs while mccarthy kisses the everton badge and proceeds to call him a redrubbish and all (mccarthys boss), but, obviously, because its liverpool, and we are everton, besic and macca are sent off, the free kick is whipped in, and cleared (we have played 57 minutes of the 2 minutes of added time so far), sturridge, thinking the whistle has gone, does his stupid celebration in front of the park end, he slips, the ref gives a penalty, allen takes it, misses but gets to take it again as clettenburg is ref, he scores, woot, woot, we lose the league cup fifth round against millwall following a magaye gueye hattrick, we host bournemouth at goodison for the quarter final, gosling nets 5 free kick, 2 pens and takes credit for a joel own goal, we lose, of course, at this point we are still battling for fourth, come on we can do it!, spurs last day at goodison, we suffer a 3-nil thrashing following a harry kane brace and danny rose header, but! We are in the europa league final, in the league, we were one goal away from third, instead, we finish fifth, final of the europa league vs valencia, atsu nets after 27 minutes and runs round revealing an everton tattoo, 95th minute, can we do it! Yessss! Wait, we are everton, corner comes in "mustafiiiii!!", he runs round revealing a david moyes tattoo on his back with moyesie winking and giving us a thumbs up, penalty shoot out, if we score, we win, joel steps up, he misses! Off the bar! If they score, they win, mustafi shoots and chips it, joel stands there ready to catch, only to punch the ball off the post and in the net, hopefully that tedius, long and rather tiresome post got you hyped for the new season!
