Ed
When do you think a striker will be signed? This week? And who.

Cheers lad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - next week looks a decent bet zulu, we are playing great stuff, and mixing it with the so called big boys (liverpool excuded), i just hope we dont shoot ourselves in the in the foot by signing mediocre players like jones and vermalen, instead of quality players...come on bill and bob, no weeds please..

Bill has a long history of snaching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair JCW bill does his best, I consider us a proper club mate, and that makes us family in a way, we know we are not the richest in terms of wealth, but for me we will always be richer than these oligarchs who think that throwing dosh around makes you a chairman!..

Well said Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic post Ed025.

Agree0 Disagree0

JCW you referring to the last minute Lukaku loan? Or the incredible deal that was the Del Boy loan where we get paid to play him? Or maybe your referring to the hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players we have signed over the years at unbelievable prices, doubling, trebling sometimes quadrupling their value. Or maybe your referring to the appointment of Roberto when everyone in his ear was telling him to go elsewhere. Yeah, Bill snatches defeat from the hands of victory every time doesn't he. Do me a favour. #StuckInThe80sWithYouBabe

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed. Vermaelen mediocre? Not for me. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - makes too many mistakes for me tone..

I think the Jones rumour is a smokescreen and we will sign a cracking striker. well i'm hoping that's the case anyway.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope so too Stef! Hopefully the Belgian youngster will sign and what about a cheeky bid for Cisse of Newcastle. (imo a good striker who has lost his way this season - RM would get the best out of him).

Also heard a rumour from a Celtic FC source that we are interested in signing Frazer Foster as Howard wants to finish his career in the MSL next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 23:56:44
im sick to death of 'martinez will get the best out of him', we heard it with heitinga, jelavic, osman, anichebe and pienaar, has he? no he has not, cisse was crap last season and would cost 12m and considering he won't get any better and doesn't suit our play style I would be happy with just michy

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

So mike you don't think martinez has had any effect on the players since he took over? Last season an alarming number of people thought seamus Colman couldn't cut it at prem level ( not me by the way) but Bobby HAS got the best out of him and quite a few others as well so I don't think its out of the question he could do the same with cisse he's had a bad time of late has cisse but if you had to work with pardew do you think you would be at the top of your game I say trust the manager to recruit who HE thinks is best for the club he's not doing a bad job of it as far as I can see.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2014 07:33:45
no I mean he hasn't got the best out of most players who struggled last season and again, 12m for newcastles third choice striker? no

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse? Sorry mate but no thanks, really don't think the guys very good. Mirko Vucinic is an immense player and is available for around 7m. Much cheaper and similar wages. Watched him up close play against my brother who plays in Italy. Both of us of opinion he was the most naturally gifted footballer in their team, which has a few names in it. He's stale there. Needs to move on. I reckon he would have a similar impact on the league to Alen Boksic when he was at M'boro.

Agree0 Disagree0

By the way I wasnt saying cisse is the answer because I don't but just that we as supporters don't know half of what goes on behind the scenes and I trust bobby to do the right thing, he will sign some donkeys that inevitable but he will get more out of those poorer signings than most would. He give everyone a chance and its up to them to make that chance pay, Barry, Colman, Barkley spring to mind and if they don't they get moved on i.e Jelavic, Anichebe, as far as ossie is concerned I don't think he's a first eleven week in week out but he definitely does a job for the team and can plug gaps when they appear be it injuries or suspensions over all this is the second best squad I've ver seen at everton only bettered by the 80's team that got me hooked on the blue side of Stanley Park. wow that got to be the most words I've wrote in one go since I left school :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - what about your charge sheet AL? :)

14 Jan 2014 16:45:24
Pls tell me it's not true that RM is interested in Kenwyn jones! it's not who we need in our quest to reach top 4 status, personally think he's lazy what do you think ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 21:49:13
K jones Sunderland reject Stoke reject, WTf would we spend our small pot of money on him. Surely this is just crap paper talk.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 21:09:31
take jones out and I would be happy with that

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with three choices. Guess which one i'm not so keen on. Best answers win a ginsters cheddar cheese and bacon pasty.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Jones would be a great impact player if we need to play 2 up top if we got him for 1 million that would be ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine them pair up front. Lukaku and Jones, will be like watching the Williams sisters.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 20:21:52
Please tell me we ain't seriously looking at jones, I trust bob but this one has got to be a joke. He is slow, and tony hibbert has the same goal per game ratio

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 14:09:42
Ed any news on Tom ince.
Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - Nothing new.}

14 Jan 2014 18:05:49
is it true that if we buy michy batshuayi we are going to loan him to anderlecht till the end of the season, surely this carnt be right.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 16:02:35
i just read that lewis holtby is apparently seeking a transfer. it said nothing about interest from everton but I think he would be a quality addition to our team

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree. He's a quality player

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he would jump at the chance to join us.he and his family are everton supporters

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 14:39:04
vellios is better than jones I don't believe we will sign him, on the other hand think we've missed out on guidetti would have been good for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's gone to stoke. Shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 13:52:19
Diego could be going Southampton for 1.5 mil think he be a great signing as a number 10 to help Barkley what you think blues?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree 100% quality player and well worth that, takes pressure off Barkley then so we're not to reliant on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should go for holtby to cover for barkley

Agree0 Disagree0

The Brazilian who plays in Germany? If so quality player would be a great signing

Agree0 Disagree0

If its the weirder Bremen diego and he is available for 1.5 mill we should definitely sign him he would be better than McCarthy IMO and I know they have different roles but there both midfielders and the massive price difference would make this a superb deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wolfsburg not Bremen haha

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2014 07:37:23
he would be better than mccarthy? what?, ozil and xavi are both midfielders, don't compare them as they are nothing alike? sorry for nitpicking but that makes no sense? do you mean barkley?

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

I was merely stating that diego would cost 2 mill McCarthy cost 15-17 mill there both midfielders so have similar roles in the team ( start attacks make the team tick and break up play). Whoever signs him will get a really special player for a 10th of his true value.
And what I ment when comparing Macca to Diego was not there preferred staring position but the vast price difference for a player of equal if not higher quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 13:51:35
Jelavic deal done. Hull also moving for Long.

I would have thought we could have moved for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 13:50:29
Surly, Veleos is a better option than Jones, he's slow, has a poor first touch, and his goals per game rank along with Tony Hibbit, so please no no no NO.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 12:21:26
barkleys toe not broken, only fractured, he set for return for the derby.good news

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am afraid you are wrong. His toe is fractured and the club are saying 3 to 6 weeks out. No exact timescale possible at this stage.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually degsy he did say it was fractured not broken. So he is right.

Barkley will be out 3-6wks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - A fracture and a break are the same thing. Both words mean that the normal bone structure has been disrupted. }

14 Jan 2014 12:15:51
TV now saying Jelavic has signed for Hull and is no longer our player

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 11:39:57
I would rather get Vic back than Kenwynne Jones, that's saying something

Lazy journalism, I think he is off to QPR anyway because looks like that is where everyone is heading

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 11:03:13
Dear god no! Not kenwyne jones please! This rumour has to be BS surely?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 09:23:22
Even if Martinez was interested in him, I think he would think twice due to his refusal to take part in the sqaud. I personally think this is the media putting 2+2 together and coming up with kenwyn. Maybe we are interested in another stoke player, and kenwyns antics have sparked this presumtion. seems more reasonable than getting in a possibly disruptive player who can't earn a regular place at stoke.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 09:00:57
Plz tell me donkey jones is a load of rubbish of a rumour he his so crap it's unreal be a real big waste of money, we be going backwards if we get him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 11:41:09
Its a load of rubbish Beardy, no way would Sir Bob buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 08:28:19
Just been on tv apparetnly kenwyne jones has gone on strike to force a move to everton. Please don't be tru this guy makes jelavic look prolific in front of goal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 11:41:54
Jones was on strike when he was playing too, awful player

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 08:22:02
please don't let this kenwin jones thing be true, surley its 2 steps back.never rated him ever.and don't see what he would give us, unless i'm wrong and someone out there could explain to me what he has got to offer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2014 01:13:41
Why are linked with kenwyne jones.come on bobby, you at everton now not wigan.liege striker better imo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed what are your thoughts on us changing to 3 at the back gif the last 10mins v Norwich do u think Roberto wants to eventually play that system, it was down to players he brought on, experiment?
Baines seems to play better in a back four and what I could make out from Roberto comments in press conference when asked about selling in window was that Ross would not leave I don't recall him saying it about baines and I think if a offer comes in he will go and play Oviedo and possibly play a back 3 and reinvest the money with the youngsters like from Dundee utd and Ince batshuyi?

Just a thought

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he has said that non of his better players were leaving robbie, and on the change to 3 at the back mate...if its not broken..why fix it?..

I'd imagine that when we are dominating games, which is often, we can use our favoured formation. But as in the case of Norwich trialing three at the back is useful as a way of changing our system should we come under the cosh and need to regain the mid field against bigger teams, or maybe European sides should we have the season we wish for.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see why selling Baines would force us to play 3 at the back, I'd add to that we're struggling to have 3 cb's fit at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we played some great stuff v Norwich. I just curious why and trying to 2nd guess what Roberto has planned. I hope the speculation is correct about Baines & Barkley signing new contracts it will send a good positive signal out to everyone especially being World Cup year if both have good tournament gives us chance of keeping hold of them or getting top dollar for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was no coincidence that Norwich came back at us for first and only time in the game when we switched to 3 at the back imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Sources on Twitter are claiming that both Leighton Baines and Ross Barkley have signed new contracts with Everton.
Baines' existing deal has less than 18 months to run and he has been a target for Manchester United over the past couple of years.

Barkley, meanwhile, has become hot property in what has become his breakout season under Roberto Martinez's tutelage. The 20 year-old has been rewarded with improved terms, partially in order to ward off potential bids from rival clubs for his signature.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jan 2014 23:49:12
One other player we sign is Gareth Barry on a perm contract been class for us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jan 2014 23:44:42
seen a few everton accounts on twitter reporting baines and barkley have agreed new contracts? any info ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd suggest you ask the people on Tw@tter who have said it, we are not here to pass comment or give any credence to what is on social media. Do you go on Tw@tter to ask people if what Ed025 says is true?}

Ed. Sounds a bit harsh mate. It's a fair question to ask. I think the OP also doubts social media, which is why he's asking Ed 25 if he knows anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm, ed007 was actually talking to the everton ed? jeez who p***** in your cornflakes?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter what Ed you are talking to, you never addressed any in particular so I answered, is that ok with you? None of us editors are here to comment on garbage being spouted on social media. If you believe it then that's up to you. If we wanted the page clogged up with BS from Tw@tter we would have a Tw@tter page. The matter is not up for debate. Is that a concise enough answer for you?}
