Just been watching yesterday's match again, and I have to say Lookman's passing was excellent with pace and spot on, he has to start now over Theo, he is past his prime now with too many missed placed passes.

It will do Walcott good to have a rest too GB. He's played a lot and we may need him in the final games.

You are right mate he looks tired.

I am going to make excuses for Walcot especially as I have been a critic. I am thinking that actually along with tiredness, pressure could be a factor as in reality until we identify a natural RW, Walcot is the one that has to deliver game after game. I justify that by saying Lookman was very good and is two footed but the difference between very good on the RW and immense on the LW was stark. Thereby lies another quandry for Silva (yes I understand the quandry he has as well) , Richarlison is much better on the left than through the centre and the first choice at LW. So do we potter along with excellent LW (Richarlison) and very good RW (Lookman) .

just let them interchange threw the game like most top sides do ducks.

Yes Johny. We need a front man who can work in a fluid front 3/ 4. Much harder to pick up by the opposition.

Lookman looks great ok he may loose it now and again but he has me on the edge of my seat when ever he gets the ball, such a talent and do believe he has the ability to be one of the best players in prem just need to keep playing him so he can develop into that player.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2019 17:18:31
Yes, keep playing him. Even if he has a few quiet ones he still needs to play regular. Can’t have more quiet ones than Walcott does so what’s to lose?

goodison actually played the part it should yesterday, unfortunate how its not like that every game really, was great to see it back to being angry and intimidating.

14 Jan 2019 14:30:30
I know it should be rocking all the time but it doesn't always work like that unfortunately. I guess if the players continue to show the passion they did second half yesterday it will soon return.

I think the fans got worked up thanks to the referee and sone of the strange decisions he made.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 18:21:58
To be fair, I think it was more to do with the ref that got Goodison going.

Just cannot put my finger on how quiet Goodison has gone, even before a game the fans would have a sing, could it be the no smoking ban we’re fans are leaving it late to get in the ground, tongue firmly pushed in cheek.

However be nice to have a designated smoking area somewhere :-)

Currently watching the full match back (recorded) and to be absolutely honest Taylor looks far worse than he did in real time. Some of the decisions were very easy to make (Gomez should not have been on the pitch) , Cook at least two yellows.

Ganas stats.

1 - Idrissa Gueye 🇸🇳 in the Premier League 🇬🇧 since his arrival at Everton in 2016/ 17 :

238 tackles won - 1st

189 interceptions - 2nd

667 recoveries - 3rd

KEY PASSES TO A TEAM MATE - 0

Only joking.

Out - niasse, tosun and schneiderlin. Jimmy Mac back, Lookman needs more time and DCL needs a run before he ends up the next Anichebe. I'd leave bringing people in until the summer as this panic window just inflates value. Perhaps focus on converting the loans to permanent for Gomes and Zouma where poss.

14 Jan 2019 14:32:54
If Marco doesn't get a striker in the window I guess he'll have little option and DCL will get a run. Especially if Oumar and Cenk go.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 14:57:56
Think we get at least one striker in this widow.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2019 09:25:29
With Oumar gone, if Tosun goes, we'll be relying on DCL and Richarlison up front unless we get someone in which is risky as neither look like the answer just yet. So while I agree with giving DCL a proper run we will need someone in. And I can't see us getting rid of those 2 just to get someone of a similar standard; so whoever comes in can expect to be first choice in which case giving DCL a proper run might be tricky but could work out if a better striker can help him come on.

{Ed002's Note - Everton should return to their first choice of Emiliano Sala who is available.}

Sounds a bit petty but I notice a pattern with BBC regarding Everton and MotD. Played first yesterday yet on after UTD and even goal of the month. Was half expecting even being shown after Saturday games, but obviously to much of a Michael even for BBC. I tell you for an organisation that is supposed to be neutral they have a habit of being extremely biased on some subjects.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - They will have no thoughts on Everton or bias against the.}

I can see why it frustrates some people but as GB says it's just the way it is. There are far more important things to worry about than MOTD and the BBC.

Gomes doesn't look the same player, half a yard off the pace hence the reasons for the fouls, lucky not to be sent off, on the last performances not worth investing in at the end of the season
Richarlison also looks tired, needs a break on the bench
Bernard doesn't look strong enough.

14 Jan 2019 07:53:00
jesus mate smile we won, i thought bernard was great yesterday, gomes is tired he has played every game when he didn't have a proper pre season he's still top draw mate and i think richarlison just needs to go back to the wing where he is more effective he's a good player but a target man he isnt.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 09:51:26
Bernard is a talented little player but he needs to toughen up a bit to cope with this league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

some people just love a moan don't they jesus, just be happy with the win.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 16:39:18
Gomez and Bernard was always going to hit a point of burn out Gomez didn’t play much football when he joined and Bernard had no pre season at all, they would never off had the fixture pile up like this in there careers before. Bernard does get pushed off ball to easily but he is clever and will learn how to shield the ball better in time, did anyone see how he plucked that ball out the air from Pickford towards the end, not many players in our squad have that touch, they will be so much better next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 18:12:48
Should we really invest 30 + Million for Gomes? I am not convinced. We will see at the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 04:08:25
Gomez 4th yellow card makes me wonder if he should be rested against Southampton or given the opportunity to get a 5th and get the inevitable suspension out of the way sooner rather than later.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2019 05:58:25
i may be wrong here mate but doesn't that yellow card count reset on 1st of jan? so would need another 4 before a ban if that was his first yellow since then.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 05:59:54
nope he was booked against Leicester so he's now on 2 yellows needs another 3 for a ban, i think av been known to be wrong before tho haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 09:23:11
Nearly right mate lol. The ban is reset 31st Dec so anyone getting their 5th yellow on 1st Jan or later won't get banned. However, if I've read it right (Eds? ) they need to be on 4 around that time to qualify. Seeing as Gomez only got his 4th yellow yesterday (4 came up against his name on tv) he doesn't qualify, meaning the next yellow will put him on the requisite 5 and earn him a ban.
