Starting 11 Next season: GK-Howard/Joel RB-Coleman CB-Distin/Douglas Jagielka LB-Baines RM-Mirallas CM-Gibson Fer Felliani LM-Mertens/Pienaar CAM-Barkley/Honda ST-Negredo What do you think ED top 4 next year? ;) COYB IMWT NSNO GarstonBlue {Ed025's Note - with that side mate, very possible..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mertens is going to Napoli mate, put Moses in place of him and that is a very realistic team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't that 12 players?

Agree0 Disagree0

He means Distin or Douglas, partnering Jags. Not Distin, Douglas and Jags, as well as the other x amount of players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can still count 12, unless he means 2 of the 3 CM's. team looks very good though with any 11 from his list.

Agree0 Disagree0

thanks for your reply ed the everton thing on talksport doesn't appear to be happening. Listening now and no sign of it they did advertise it last night too.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

Negredo, Fer, Mertens, Douglas & Toulalan? RW

Agree0 Disagree0

Negredo
Fer
Mertens
Douglas
Shelvey {Ed025's Note - i would sooner have shingles, than shelvey..

Agree0 Disagree0

Shelvey or spearing ed? ;) {Ed025's Note - yes...shelvey needs spearing.., with a spear.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a life please. we what to make progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

Negredo
Fer
Mertens
Douglas

Agree0 Disagree0

Soldado over negredo every day of the week and twice on sunday

Jonjo shelvey anyone? 7m would be a steal! {Ed025's Note - no no no!..the guy is an idiot, fester adams will not be welcome..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kopites bored tonight ed? {Ed025's Note - looks like it mike, i expect some news next week, so they may go back to their caves mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

For £7m we could buy a footballer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very sad koppite. wkend kids off school.

Agree0 Disagree0

By news are you referring to the Alcaraz deal Ed? I know we've been in talks with his people. {Ed025's Note - some of the guys are back from holiday next week joe, im hoping i will hear of some realistic targets mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Look guys if and its a big IF we have to sell the guy we want top dollar not just the asking price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want voldermort, we're not at hoggwarts

If Arsenal cough up 22 million for Fellaini, I would invest in Fer, Wijnaldum and possibly Martins Indi. The Dutch Under 21s are the future.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mertens is from Belgium mate, but I agree

GiannisTheBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

If they cough up 22m, they will be a mill short for felli

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2013 10:43:54
at no point did he mention dries mertens, martins indi is a dutch centre half who can also play full back

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2013 12:17:16
@giannis: Martins Indi is dutch, CB of Feyenoord.

Agree0 Disagree0

Holland is the place to go. Good young players with a reasonable price tag.

Agree0 Disagree0

For the last time. Fellaini's buy out clause is 28m euro, which is close to 24m pounds and he won't leave for a penny less, end of story.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 20:38:17
Given lesscott fer McCarthy Moses would all be good additions what do you think the chances are ed {Ed02h5's Note - i think they are the type of player we should be looking at..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be very happy if we added those players

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be very pleased if we got given

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Given, Lescott, Fer and Moses. If we could buy these without selling the big man we'd have more than enough options. Gibson over McCarthy every day of the week so I don't believe he's needed especially if we start playing Fellaini in his preferred position. The only thing we were really missing last season was a goalscorer!

Agree0 Disagree0

Id not have given. need younger. same with lescott there is younger and better out there. i'd take dragovic. The Saints have just signed Lovren from lyon. He would have been a good shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 19:35:08
Ed what's the deal on felliani have arsenal met the clause or is it bs

Thanks
Essy {Ed025's Note - they are considering it essy, but wenger is a minge, and will probably offer some fringe players and a bit of dosh..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If that were the case Ed, I'd like Rosicky and Vermaelen as part of the deal, {Ed025's Note - i would like wilshire AJ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't mind that Cazorla fella too ed, apparently he's decent ;) {Ed025's Note - yeah mate..him and wilshire for felli...seems fair to me.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Rosicky is overrated and Vermaelen is a nervous wreck. Take kosceilny tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbh the players they'd most likely offer would be Ramsey and Bendtner. {Ed025's Note - yeah..but we can dream joe.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta, willshere and 5m for felli

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 18:44:06
Hi ed, any news on any players we are looking at or likely to bid for? Also who do u see heading for the exit door

George the blue {Ed025's Note - all just speculation at the moment george..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Heitinga is a cert to leave IMO

Any intrest from us or anyone else in piere emerik aubemyang? Think he'd be an awesome striker for us and can play as a wide forward if jely hits form

Mirallas-aubemyang-piennar

Or
Piennar
Aubemyang-jela-mirallas

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apparently some Russian club are preparing a bid of 20 odd million euro for him so you can forget about him.

Just a quick one. I've been following this site for some time and I'm just wondering who Ed is? Is he just the admin or is he someone who works at Everton or had contacts? {Ed025's Note - im just an editor, and evertonian deano, i do get information from a couple of guys at the club, and other ed,s, but im not "in the know" as some people say mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks mate :)

Nothing bad meant by the post btw I was just intrigued :)

hi ed is there any reason why you keep changing my posts about the everton special on tonight it is not on that satellite station it is on the radio station with the initials t and s. I was just trying to pass on something I heard to fellow blues as it could be quite a good listen but not having a lot of luck getting it posted. {E d025's Note - i have only just got home paul, if you post it again i will post it mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Calm down paul, the ed's have a life away from this site you know

14 Jun 2013 16:57:59
Ed, you commented on my post that you believed we have had a bid rejected for Cornelius, but any news on whether we will make another bid?
GoodisonGeorge {Ed025's Note - no mate..

Can't stop thinking about how much I want both Fer and McCarthy. but it's seriously unlikely that we'll go for both unless Fellaini goes and I don't want that.

Who would everyone take?

Fer or McCarthy?

They have different styles no doubt but I can't decide. Every time Fer is asked about Everton he has only good words and it's obvious he is desperate to sign with us I think that does it for me.

AussieBlue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aussie I'm desperate to sign for EFC would that do?

Agree0 Disagree0

How ever much everyone wants Fellaini to stay, realistically he will be sold, and maybe its what we need for a mini rebuild. Like you I'd take both McCarthy and Fer. Heitinger and Gueye also out and bring in Williams or Dragovic, Honda and Moses.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd personally prefer Fer, Aussie, chips in with more goals. Both good young players with plenty of potential for improvement but at the moment I'd go with Fer (from what I've seen of him), probably the cheaper of the two as well.
Dev

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep Fellaini and buy Fer. Simples

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 16:46:19
Really want Wilfried Bony! Was one of if not the top scorer in the Eredisvie last season! Or Dries Mertens the Belgian winger! Both class from the Dutch League! Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Triple swoop on the everdise bony, mertems and fer. You heard it here first

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Mertens is on his way to Napoli.

Dixie 1878

Agree0 Disagree0

Young dutch and belgium players are the future {Ed025's Note - i thought it was garlic bread?.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh : ( in that case Dixie, then I think maybe Chadli or McManaman

not sure why my earlier post was edited to say the everton special tonight is on s*y. It isn't it is on the radio on s*y at 10.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Elstrone having a pop at local press over wording of finch farm deal. this is are CEO people,. not happy the way the club is being portrayed, priceless. how does he want it to be worded what a great ground breaking deal. embarrassing

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no special tonight not on everton an its not on sky so maybe u got mixed up with the specail that is on 2mos on talksport at 10pm because that is an everton special also

blue ducky

Agree0 Disagree0

For everton to make an issue over the finch farm sale and say they are disappointed with the local press is trivial and hypocritical at best. elstrone wants to concentrate on big issues

Agree0 Disagree0

Mixed feelings over Elstone if I'm honest, the lies can't go unnoticed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The media portrayed it as us selling an asset when were just leasing it from someone else. Elstone is right about this

Agree0 Disagree0

That's right we were leasing it back for £75m over 50 yrs (at £1.5m per year), an asset worth c. £13m. One of the board could have bought it and we paid them back over 10 years and saved ourselves £60m or so. Ridiculous bit of business.

Agree0 Disagree0

With moyes gone and hopefully new tactics which doesn't involve every man behind the ball I would like to see us go for drenthe again! Yes he had a few issues but if he gets tem sorted he will be a great player we saw glimpses when he was with us, under Martinez he will be able to express himself more freely, apparantley he might be joining reading so that shows that he desperately wants to be playing football, we should offer him a year contract and see how he gets on!
Siefc1979

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Weres drenthe been turkey, Russia. we don't need to take chances on loose cannons. they don't work and they never learn. everton far past players like van der Meyde and drenthe.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree completely. He showed that he can be a top class player on the pitch. Except for one particular incident where he was criticised for moaning about not being awarded a clear free kick, rather than tracking back, all his problems where off the pitch. Martinez is a much nicer and more civil person than moyes and should be able to handle him better. Plus, he was originally a left back/ wing back, so he could provide cover for that position if we play 3 at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drenthe has just signed a contract with Reading. Well. according to his agent anyway

Talented player no doubt but he's burnt his bridges with us

AussieBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Gone to reading
EFL

Agree0 Disagree0

A) I think he is close, or maybe even signed for Reading

b) The guy is still a nutcase, was playing for some Russian side and was filmed smoking and drinking alcohol whilst speeding in his convertible, and although a terrific footballer, to establish the culture we have at Everton, something that, in my opinion is invaluable to the success of a club, I wouldn't want to risk it, especially for Drenthe

Agree0 Disagree0

According to the Daily Mail Reading are in talks with Drenthe

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't he break into finch farm with 2 girls he'd picked up in town?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would howard go to united to sit on the bench when he's getting first team football at everton. these rumours are getting boring now!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jun 2013 11:00:09
If Martinez, as reported, has offered to make Baines the highest earner at the club, with no mention of Fellaini. This would suggest that Martinez is resigned to losing Fellaini. A bidding war would appear to be needed. (Wavertree Blue)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There will be no bidding war. clubs aren't going to pay more than his release clause

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe he is just focusing on keeping Baines, knowin fellaini is unlikely to accept a new contract while he still decides on his future.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can all live in hope. (Wavertree Blue)

Standing at 6ft 4in, yes Cornelius is very good in the air - just been reading about this lad he sounds like a young Dunc!
Hope we dig around for loose change because he gets rave reviews on web.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like the look of Cornelius, looks a bit of an all rounder to me. He could give us some flexibility in our toward play as he looks accomplished in the air and confortable on the ground. Closest thing to a 'Benteke' I think we are likely to find and be able to afford.

Agree0 Disagree0

ISNT HE A GK THO

Is it too much to ask that Everton have one reasonable decent striker at the club?

When was the last time we had one?

It's not much to ask for is it?

Someone who can shoot straight and hit the back of the net once every couple of games. Most other teams in prem have got at least one, some two or three, but for some reason we've got used to having none.

Jelly looked great for 6 months but what happened?

Bill - just give us one decent striker (even if not top drawer) - like a defoe or something.
It's like we're constantly playing with one hand tied behind our backs at the moment - and still finishing 6th!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Had lots of decent strikers mate. Just that Moyes buggered them up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not say we have had good strikers last one we had was Rooney and he left at 16 so don't really count although I think Jelavic will be good we have to give him another season

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 09:51:30
Why do people want to get rid of felli? He's already agreed that he's defiantly staying, I think he doing us a favour because after the World Cup if he has a cracker which is likely. He'll be worth around 30/35 mill. If we've got 20 mill to spend I don't see the urge to sell him. What do you think ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Problem is he will not sign new contract. And only 1 year contract he has right to go free end of next season. Further more he has minimum release clause 22-24 m. not sure. So we cannot wait until end of World Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's contracted to EFC until July 2016 so there's no danger of him going free any time soon. And, for the love of God, he has a release clause which, when triggered, would mean he's free to negotiate with whoever meets it. The only scenario where a bidding war is likely is if his current contract is ripped up and he signs a new one without a release clause.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought his contract had another two years though mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think his contract is up July 2016.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure we're you get your info from, Fellaini signed a 5 year contract in 2011 so he is tied here until the summer of 2016, that's 3 more years.

Popeye

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a tricky one cause he wants to play Champ league not just to go to bigger club the dilemma is do we risk not selling and hope we crash top 4 and then he will stay anyway or do we take the 22m and loose a player that can control a game against the very best out of our hands really as someone will activate the release clause and then it's up to him so can't do anything about it other than hope no one activates it

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 09:50:37
defoe been told he can leave spurs be worth going in for him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are trying to reduce the age of the squad, not raise it

everton to go for stephen ireland he's been told he can leave villa

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd take him on a free, and on 5k a week!

He has truly been wasted. I think it was under Hughes, he was by far city's best player that season but has since fallen off the radar.

From what I've seen of him, he thinks he's better than he is

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Not good enough. couldn't get games at villa or newcastle when he was on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd most certainly take Stephen Ireland aswell. Like the last post mentioned he's such a wasted talent. Maybe Martinez could get the best out of him

I understand peoples want for a striker or another central midfielder but what about goalkeeper? Howard is hardly 21 and we have no goalkeepers springthorpe will likely be sold soon for a nominal fee to a league 2 side I like the look of taudel though but don't think he is ready yet any suggestions on any young goalkeepers we could realistically get? Even on loan I like courtois of chelsea will be THE best keeper in the world someday and is already one of them now but looks like he is off to madrid for a third loan spell so any suggestions lads?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nobles smithies elhasbi

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a striker more because gk generally play till there older any way, I agree that howard needs replacing but we were missing some one scorng up front last year

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2013 13:06:48
Yes but howard already said he has no intention of playing until the age of brad friedal and how many goals were conceded last year due to howard? Fulham away norwich home etc. They were silly mistakes I think he is still a good goalkeeper but we do need someone yes we need a striker more but the goalkeeping position must not be forgotten about. We should of signed butland yes he is overrated and will not be one of the best keepers england have ever had but will still come good but we missed out but agree striker is more important

Agree0 Disagree0

There wss casillas for 1 mill from a spanish club but barca and real are interested

Agree0 Disagree0
