I keep seeing posts with "my team". If we are to make any dent in the top 6, we need a squad that offers constant competition for places, not just a team. A lot of work to do before the start of the next season. I just hope we get it right this time.

Like that team Callum but think we need a pacey box to box midfielder in there to drive the team forward. Don't know enough about carvalho, whether he fits that role or not.

for all the people that are more than likely refreshing the club page waiting for him to be sacked, stop were a respectable club and won't sack him until after his meeting which is to believed later this week.

Agree Wblue let's just wait and see what happens after the meeting, the rumours are not going to go away so we might as well sit back have a week off then when we hear something we can come back on here and get ready for next season.
P. s hopefully without Sam.

Glad that this season Is finally now over!

Massive summer ahead in terms of shipping the shite out and getting it right this time in terms of signings.

One player we should seriously be looking at is Ajer from Celtic. The lad looks a huge talent imo. Really reminiscent of john stones the way he strides up the pitch with the ball.

Sam Allardyce's attitude to football management:
"And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way.
Yes, it was my way. "

Yes, Sam, you did it your way - and it's that way that we Evertonians don't want at our club!

If we have a new manager, the new players to come in would have to replace players that haven't really performed, Rooney looks like he's off, siggy plays that roll so covered, and Walcott can play there, so problem, snids hasn't been good, so a new midfielder, bolasie has been poor, new winger, hopefully lookmen brings his A game next season, Williams out, jags really at the end of his days so a new centre half, along with a new striker, and a left back, that's once again a lot of players coming in, this is with out the player who didn't make the grade this season and weather they actually will be kept or sold on, it's all exciting having lots of new players, but and it's a big but, it all takes time to bed the players in, and with the world cup could make it difficult to bed the team, we don't want to have a poor start again.

The key is Simon, not to buy 5 or 6 players and then throw them all in together which is what happened last season.
A CB and CM could be thrown in straight away and then integrate any others that come along.
Lb and winger can be integrated slowly.

I personally would love Rafa or Conte. Seems to me Chelsea players seem to get there managers sacked. I like Conte and he would be huge. I know it's a long shot but who knows. Whilst we talk about Long shot how about Moshiri buys Woods and Kenright out and sells to his mate Usminov.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

14 May 2018 12:15:39
Usmanov can't have stakes in 2 club's and would struggle (even if he wanted to) to sell his shares. Unless Kroenke buys them up.
Not many want shares in a club they have no say in the running of.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2018 12:34:44
say it quietly, if moshiri bought out the rest of the shares its basically usmanov anyway as our main sponsor for usm is usmanov so he is already pumping money into the blues BUT don't TELL ANYONE BECAUSE BBC WILL COME AFTER US AGAIN!

Agree0 Disagree1

14 May 2018 12:46:03
Usmanov is the elephant in Everton's room. If Panorama is to be believed then Moshri is just a conduit for Usmanov's money. This may be as a port in the storm for Usmanov should Kroenke maintain his hold on Arsenal but obviously Usmanov needs some cover for a stake in Everton.
In many ways Everton are an ideal investment. Long underfunded and commercially mismanaged, a new ground, courtesy of Council guarantees, on the horizon, a large and devoted fanbase and ripe for someone to show a bit of commercial savvy. It is a golden opportunity for capital growth which is why I think the panic button was pressed so early in the season when it looked as if all those carefully laid plans were in jeopardy.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 May 2018 08:41:38
. well guys. big week for us blues coming up, hopefully Big Sam will be gone and who next? Moshiri has a big call to make, I hope I don't upset anyone here for saying this but I really think we should go for Rafa Benitez! Fonseca has no premier league experience and has only succeeded in a very poor Russian league, Wenger I feel has had his best days past gone, Silva has had more clubs in a short space of time than most and his record is not much of note. For me, Benitez clearly has to be the front runner - he has won the top prizes at big clubs, players love him and warm to his ways and methods, he improves players greatly (look what he's done at Newcastle/ 10th place with a very average squad and no money spent) , he lives locally so would be easy for him to settle with his family living nearby, has lots of premier league experience and has succeeded wherever he has been. for me it must be Rafa Benitez!

I did write a couple of other posts but they were not published. I guess the Eds thought they were too negative or same old stuff. I hope this one is posted. There seems to be a wave of optimism re the potential sacking of Allardyce and a "new future" for the club. I don't see it lake that. Alan1878 put a post on the other pages comparing this current squad with the squad Walter Smith left Moyes. I agree. I also agree that even that squad had characters who would battle a result. Gravesson, Ferguson etc. But that squad was poor overall. It was also an old squad with not many youngsters. Unbalanced too. When Allardyce has gone, we need a huge overhaul of the playing staff. A huge one. The best players we have are ageing. They need replacing. The spine of the team is poor. (Jags excepted and he will be 36 next season. far too old to rely on) . The left side is weak. Baines 34 next season and no natural left sided midfielder in the squad. That to me says we need 5/ 6 new players. That means a new manager and 5/ 6 new players. This could really mean a squad that is difficult to gel. I hope we can do it but I am fearful. My optimism is somewhat curtailed by trepidadtion.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

14 May 2018 08:26:24
I disagree degsyp yes it's going to take a long time (poss 3 seasons) to get us back to where we where but buying 5/ 6 players as you said unsettle the team and we will have a similar season to this fist things first the squad needs trimming as it's massive then maybe add 1 or 2 first 11 players and use next season to take stock and fix everything that's wrong with the squad.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 May 2018 12:31:22
It really depends what we want Degsy. Take for instance Mesut Ozil and Mooy from huddersfield.
One is lazy but extremely talented. the other is not so talented but runs his heart out every game. The question is, if you are looking to get your team into the top 6, which player do you sign.
The mooys of the world will get you so far, having 10 Gravesen type players won't work but filling your team up with Ozils isn't going to work either.

We have a big squad and they can't all be rubbish. We need someone to come in and find that playing balance of Rooneys and Tom Davies.

The DOF should be the one finding the balance and filling the gaps.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 May 2018 17:44:30
I never said they were all rubbish. I said the spine is weak and the left side weak and the defenders ageing. So we need to replace: Jags, Baines, Williams, possibly Rooney, Martina, possibly Bolasi. Then there is a possibility that one or more of our promissing youngsters is targetted by a socalled "top" club. That means a major overhaul of 5 players who have regularly been first teamers. Then also remember we have only Baines as a natural left footer in the first team. so more left footers is a must to balance the squad. That's a lot of players and a new manager. It is a big ask for any club.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2018 19:38:51
I didn't mean you thought they were rubbish. I meant out of the 35 or so we must have 18 decent players when played in the correct positions and coached properly.
We need to ship out a load before bringing anyone in. Only a CM, CB and LB and possibly a no 9 are urgently needed.

Anyone can manage a top team with money being no object and every player wants to join them, put them at stoke or west Brom or even everton, where we are struggling, players aren't keen to join, see how good they are then, it's a totally different job then.

I thought it was time to write a new post rather than keep replying to other post.

Well the season has finally ended thank the Lord, next season I see big changes from top to bottom.

Once Moshi gets Woods shares, watch the rubbish hit the fan and big changes at the club, Elstone going to super league rugby, Walsh gone, Kenwright stepping down once he can no longer over rule Moshi.

Sam out a cert, Moshi will want to bring new management in, Silva at a guess.

Some of the deadwood shipped out from the playing staff.

Next season will hopefully be a new start, will take time but I think we will get there.

If all the above happens, you can shove your be careful what you wish comments where the Monkey shoves its nuts.

Cannot have another season like this one, need to get it right this time.

Cheer up fellow Blues, the winds of change are about to sweep through Goodison.

Onwards and upwards.

Of our 4 managers Moyes has the best points per game record followed by Martinez (reckon he will get Belgium to the World Cup 1/ 4 or 1/ 2 finals) . Koeman and Allardyce are level at 1.48. Silva's points per game record is downright awful at his premiership Clubs and yet we are thinking of bringing him in. We all may like to see the game played at exciting tempo but it is at the end of the day a results business. As a Club we need to show ambition coupled with determination and to me going for such as Silva does not show those two values. We need to go for someone who actually knows how to win: Benitez for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the thing is DFS is that whoever we go for its a gamble, some will fit and some wont but whoever we go for we have to have the common goal of getting behind him on all levels for the good of the club, wenger was seen as a massive gamble when he moved to arsenal and koeman seen as an obvious choice when he came to us...and we all know how that turned out mate..
